At the beginning of this month i had to say farewell to my beautiful staffie of nearly 15years at the Amaroo Small Friends vet. Melissa helped us through each step as to what was going to happen. Due to COVID she was able to help my husband and daughter to say goodbye. Whilst the grieving process was still happening, they had sent a beautiful card in the post. I would recommend them to anyone due to there compassion and care. Thankyou so much Read Less

I love this vet! I was worried when moving to Gungahlin that this new vet would never compare to my local vet. They compare……plus some! I couldn’t believe that I would be able to find a better veterinary clinic than the one I was already attending. The whole team are friendly, attentive and are animal lovers. I have three dogs, but one’s a damn lunatic and hates mostly everyone and everything! That’s him in the picture below….he has no issues coming to the vet and catching up to say hello and getting his treat! He also generally doesn’t let anyone touch him, but the ladies at reception know what he’s like and still get to pat him…..go figure! Thanks Small Friends Team – keep up the extra good work!! Friendly vet where the employees genuinely care about your pet as if it were their own. The vets are very kind and knowledgable and are always happy to help no matter the situation. They are very understanding to whatever financial circumstance you are in (although they do not do payment arrangements) they aren't pushy in making you pay for anything that is not crucial for your pet. Would highly recommend Small Friends to everyone!! :) Read Less

Clearly the best vet hospital in Canberra. An emergency call on a Monday morning resulted in a quickly arranged consultation with the very friendly receptionist. Dr Melissa was simply amazing and gave the unfortunate diagnosis speedily with knowledge and compassion. She offered the most worthiest advice and even through my bawling tears, I could see all the staff were very understanding with no judgement whatsoever... and therefore gave a beautiful ending to a sad situation. I think it's always a good sign when a dog WANTS to go into the Vet. This morning I took our Shih Tzu Wicket (12) to the vet to have her teeth cleaned. When we arrived the door wasn't open yet so I thought I'd take her across the road to the park. Finally got her there, struggling all the way, and she promptly turned around and headed back to the door! She sniffed around and kept looking at the door, hearing voices and wondering why they weren't letting her in. When the door opened she headed straight in for a cuddle! And received all the attention she could hope for. It was funny to watch but great too!. To all the staff at Small Friends - thank you - you keep our Wicket happy and healthy and she obviously loves it! Read Less
