After relocating to Canberra my cat became unwell. I took him to a different vet practice. Following treatment he developed another more serious condition and when I rang that practice to bring him in urgently because he was unable to walk or stand without falling over and was obviously very distressed, I felt there was little empathy for my cat (or me) and that I was being treated as an owner who was just being a bit over-the-top. I decided to ring NVC and they were brilliant. Totally professional, kind and capable care for my extremely unwell cat and understanding for a very upset owner. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. The vet we've seen, Sasha, is outstanding. Even my cat, a shy boy and not a great fan of going to the vet at the best of times, likes her! It's almost as if he remembers that she helped him feel better. NVC will offer a full range of services if appropriate but not push you to undertake expensive testing/treatment. Six stars from me!

Brought our very anxious dog in for a nail clip and the vet nurse who had the unlucky task did a brilliant job. She was super patient, showered our pet with praise and treats (even when she tried to have a sneaky bite) and got the job done even though it took a while. Highly recommend if you want a practice that appreciates that making sure your pet has a positive experience is just as important as treating their condition.

I really love this vet. One of the first vets I've found in awhile that I am comfortable with.
They care so much about my pets and they make sure they try to not tress them out too much. (my German Shepherd is very reactive).
Not so cheap but we'll worth it. Best vets (and nurses!) ever.

Highly recommended. Our border collie had surgery. The staff gave an accurate quote, outlined exactly what to expect and gave excellent advice on post operative care. REX was happy and so are we.

Cannot recommend them highly enough. I called up Northside vet yesterday as my cat hadn't been eating or drinking. Even though they were fully booked out they managed to make a space to see my cat between appointments. Libby was extremely thorough and is clearly very passionate about animals. She gave great advice and followed up our consultation with a phone call and email in case my cat needed to see an emergency vet over the weekend. She went above and beyond and I will definitely be returning in the future!

Just took my dog to this vet practice after a bee sting. I haven't been there before but the practice let us come in straight away. The vet was a lovely young lady named Gail. The receptionist was lovely too. And the price didn't 'sting' either. So all round, a positive experience. And Tilley even scored a treat so she was happy too. I will go there again.

Peter will only recommend the minimal approach to caring for your animals and will look at non invasive approaches before considering surgery. We have 2 dogs and have been very, very happy with the service, advice and kind words.

Excellent and caring. Do not be put off by the run down look of the waiting room and gardens etc. It is an old house, that Peter has been using for years and would prefer not to spend the money on making things pretty and therefore have to raise his fees. All his equipment is clean and the areas that see animals (e.g. medical table) are cleaned down regularly.
Peter will give you honest options and give you the hard truth, but does so with compassion. He will not recommend treatments or drugs that will have little effect. We have been seeing Peter for years and as he only works two days a week now (the other vet does Monday-Thursday) there can be long queue to see Peter and it is first in first served (as he does not take booked appointment), however recently when I was there were a couple of emergency cases which he dealt with first which also delayed it. He is well worth waiting for.

They have been fantastic from helping us look after my elderly dog in her last few months, to my anxious but loveable Maltese X, and now the new addition, a puppy. They are always friendly, take their time and do not ask you to do unnecessary treatments for the sake of making money. I have seen a few of the vets there and they have each been great. Highly recommended.

Great prices as well , we live around gungahlin and the vet near us is quite expensive for the same job, however we will be coming back for our babies needs, as it was more than just trying to make some money out of a customer which we appreciate

Peter will only recommend the minimal approach to caring for your animals and will look at non invasive approaches before considering surgery. We have 2 dogs and have been very, very happy with the service, advice and kind words.

Excellent and caring. Do not be put off by the run down look of the waiting room and gardens etc. It is an old house, that Peter has been using for years and would prefer not to spend the money on making things pretty and therefore have to raise his fees. All his equipment is clean and the areas that see animals (e.g. medical table) are cleaned down regularly.
Peter will give you honest options and give you the hard truth, but does so with compassion. He will not recommend treatments or drugs that will have little effect. We have been seeing Peter for years and as he only works two days a week now (the other vet does Monday-Thursday) there can be long queue to see Peter and it is first in first served (as he does not take booked appointment), however recently when I was there were a couple of emergency cases which he dealt with first which also delayed it. He is well worth waiting for.
