We've been going to CVH since we got Nova in March and can highly recommend it. We took Nova to their puppy classes, got her vaccines there and now we are adopting a kitten through them. The staff are excellent and their number one priority is always the animals, exactly as it should be. Everyone we have dealt with at CVH have constantly put in the extra bit of effort to make sure Nova is the best she can be. Helped sort our cat out, and grateful for this but more expensive than quoted plus hidden and unnecessary costs, a cat that has not had water in ~18-24 hours is thirsty and any reasonable and educated person wouldn’t need to perform a blood test for $190 (especially after the cat was determined to be healthy prior to removing and obstructive object, which was obviously the cause) to determine this. The cat is damn thirsty, next. Further to this they also tried to scare us into further and more unnecessary treatment and would not listen to my refusal to undergo this further treatment after refusing more than half a dozen times in the space of 15 seconds very clearly. If it an emergency yeah good place to go on a Sunday, otherwise go somewhere a little more down to earth and reasonable. The cat is happily purring at home playing with the other cat and by no means required any more treatment. Read Less

I have been to a few vets in Canberra and been double charged for really poor services where my pup had barely been looked at. This week she became severely unwell and it left me petrified to attend any Vet to help her. I presented unannounced to Canberra Vet Hospital first thing in the morning. Not only was I greeted with friendly and genuine service but my pup was looked at straight away. Over her two day admission I was continuously updated on her condition without having to chase them. They made decisions always within the best interest of my dog and did not offer excessive and unnecessary treatments. I could not thank this team enough for their efforts and compassionate understanding throughout the process. Read Less

Everything was explained in detail and we were kept informed by text message on Jimmy’s progress throughout the day. Alicia was extremely helpful when we picked Jimmy up thoroughly explaining his medication, food and post-surgery care. We also got a pleasant surprise when the fee was a lot less than originally quoted. This is a huge shout out to all staff, especially nurse Alicia. We have been bringing our Digger to your vet since we adopted him and have always been very happy with the service. I mentioned last visit that we had issues clipping Digger’s nails so we were booked in for another appointment with Alicia. When we arrived instead of Alicia just clipping his nails and having us return each month she showed us some extremely useful tips and now my husband and I can clip digger’s nails ourselves. Digger is still a little stubborn but he along with us are learning each time we clip :) Thanks Alicia and all the other vet drs, nurses and staff at CVH :) Read Less

Recently moved to this veterinary service and they have been incredibly friendly and attentive to my 7-year-old Border Collie. They text reminders for appointments and pickups for medicine. There is not usually much wait for appointments and vets/nurses generally run to schedule. The appointments themselves do not feel rushed though, they are willing to talk to you and assuage any fears you have about your pets health. They are a bit on the pricey side but you definitely get what you pay for. Would highly recommend this vet! Read Less

The reception staff and the vet were phenomenal, they will give you honest and straightforward advice. They are also reasonable with the prices for treatment, I paid a lot less then I was expecting, especially considering I had no appointment. Just took Tilley up to the vet at the Canberra Vet Hospital. We were 4-5 minutes late so our appointment was cancelled. We were told we would have to reschedule. After having gone to this practice for over 15 years with 5-6 pets I won't be going back. Many a time I've spent 15-20-30 minutes plus waiting for a vet. Now I'm running late and my appointment is CANCELLED!. I'm just glad my dog was not seriously injured! This is not the type of compassion and support I seek from my vet. One very unhappy ex-customer! They wouldn't without cash. I now have a German Shepherd with an ear infection. Costed about $800 to knock her out and look at how bad the infection was. He was supposed to clean her ear out while she was knocked out but wouldn't , told us to come back a second time. Just so he could charge us an extra $800. Shame on you. Shame on all of you. You don't care about animals at all. You only care about cash. With all my heart, I detest this vet. Read Less

Early last year I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my 19 year old kitten. Canberra Vet Hospital were quick in the diagnosis and helped make his life in his final days and weeks as comfortable as possible. They were kind and compassionate to both myself and my pet. Since his passing, I've adopted a brand new kitten. The vets and nurses have given him the best care. It's great how the reception is split between cats and dogs, it makes the experience much less stressful for the animals. Read Less

We had to put our dog through two biopsies and we were charged for both. which is unfair because they failed to get a sample to test the first time. We have also been disappointed at the lack of communication between staff members. Each visit throughout our dogs cancer treatment we have seen a different vet or vet nurse, no one seemed to know what was going on. We couldn't get a straight answer from any of the vets as to what we should do for our dog. Will not be coming back any time soon. Read Less

Three weeks ago, we found one of Snow's paw was swollen, so we took him to the emergency vet in Fyshwick due to it was Saturday, but the doctor at there seems not concern about it, and let us went home. After a week, I found his paw was bleeding and took him to the Canberra Vet, Dr Monica found that there were two holes on his paw, one at the top, one on the other side, and those two are connected, also his paw got very bad infection....They gave his paw a good clean, and after a week care, Snow had a small surgery on his paw yesterday, and hope he will recover soon.
