I've been bringing my dogs here for at least the last 10 years. Michael Kidd and his team are the kindest and friendliest bunch of vets and nurses I've ever had to deal with. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. One of my dogs developed a skin cancer and it was due to their quick detection and treatment that she has recovered. Incidentally, the Pet insurance company wouldn't pay out my claim citing that she once has a lump removed (non-related, non-cancerous.). Michael Kidd took it upon himself to help me and wrote letter and basically went to bat for me and they ended up paying me. Insurance company = bastards. Hurlstone Park Vets = Heroes! After several good experiences here i had a horrible experience and have had to find a new vet. The Good: Michael was gentle and calm, he was wonderful and very knowledgeable but he wasn't there very often. All of the vet nurses are lovely and caring. The Bad: I went in to ask advice on an ongoing issue with my pet and the vet on duty, a middle aged woman who's name i don't know was aggressive, threading, overly dramatic and intimidating. As you can't book an appointment here i couldn't run the risk of walking in and exposing my animal to this person so i have had to find another vet. We took our over-sized 10 month old (scared) Rottweiler/German Sheppard to HP Vet for the first time. As usual our Zena was misbehaving and refusing to get on the scales. I attempted to put a muzzle on her which took atleast 30 minutes. The lovely vet (forgot his name ) was extremely patient with our naughty darling girl, and guided me through to a successful muzzle application. I have been a customer of hurlstone park vets for over three years. They are always friendly and welcoming, including the reception staff and vet nurses. They really care about you and your animals, listen to your personal circumstances as that's often half the story, a bit like a really good GP does. You never feel rushed at HP vets. It's a small practice but they do open 7 days a week so that is very convenient. I have had my injured cat there many times now (first a cut on his hind leg, then a major tail amputation surgery and its subsequent problems, then a blocked bladder and several catheterizations, and recently a mysterious illness which was treated promptly and effectively by Michael). I know my pets are in excellent caring hands whenever they have to come here! I've also boarded my two cats here twice and they don't mind as they know the place and they are always treated with kindness and given attention- very important to me. Hey never come home stressed or having had lost weight when they go there. These guys duly helped me through such a difficult situation when my cat had a blocked bladder and torn urethra. And he is still here to tell the tale for which I am eternally grateful. All the vets and vet nurses here are exceptional- but special mention to Michael, Belinda, Amelia (vets), and Amanda, Tara (nurses). I moved out of area (parramatta) but still take my Burmese fur babies here as I know and trust them and it is well worth the commute. Keep up the great work, guys! Lisa, Henry and Darcy.Read Less

The vet nurses were wonderful, making Zena feel comfortable with some treats afterwards. Would highly recommend this practice, words can't express how lovely they are !!Read Less
