MEDICAL
At Hills District Veterinary Hospital, we are happy to offer our clients and their pets a comprehensive veterinary health care service. Our veterinary staff are committed to providing your pet with the latest in disease prevention and treatment, and regularly attend veterinary seminars, meetings and conferences for the latest updates in veterinary medicine.
Our hospital provides a variety of veterinary services, including:
Routine health examinations and vaccinations
Dental scaling and polishing
The ability to perform in-house blood work and cytology
Digital small animal x-ray facilities
Pet microchipping
Diagnostic work-ups and treatments for pets with skin diseases (allergies, infections, tumours), ear infections, eye problems, dental disease, orthopaedic diseases, and internal medicine cases involving cardiothoracic diseases, the gastrointestinal tract, hormonal diseases (e.g. diabetes, adrenal and thyroid gland disorders).
Chiropractic assessment and manipulation
Treatment for accidental poisonings, insect stings and snake envenomations.
SURGICAL
Our purpose-built sterile surgical theatre is equipped with state-of-the-art anaesthetic machines and monitoring equipment.
Our veterinarians are experienced in performing routine speys and neutering surgeries, lump removals, wound debridement and repairs, as well as more complex intra-abdominal surgeries. Orthopaedic surgeries such as cranial cruciate ligament repair & fracture repair .
Pain management is high on our priority for all our pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative anaesthetic protocols. ALL surgical patients including ’routine procedures’ such as neutering and speys receive adequate pain control medication.
CHIROPRACTIC & REHABILITATION
The following symptoms in a dog may indicate pain caused by spinal abnormality:
• Reluctance to move
• Abnormal posture
• Disability to climb stairs or jump onto a raised area.
• Limited performance
• Signs of pain when performing certain movements or being lifted
• Sensitivity to touch
Information from the case history and the examination are combined to determine if chiropractic treatment is needed, and the proper chiropractic treatment that the dog may require.
Treatment
A chiropractic adjustment involves a high velocity controlled thrust by hand that is directed on a specific joint in a specific direction to correct or reduce misalignments and abnormal movement.
Thereby optimising proper nerve function. After a chiropractic evaluation, if your dog is found to be a candidate for chiropractic care, then the treatment will be provided, recommendations with an explanation regarding the treatment.

A HUGE thank you to Aunty Jane and her lovely girls for the wonderful treatment of my staffy. After more than 6 months of medical treatment at another vet for on-and-off lameness, my girl got worse last week and came to see Aunty Jane on the advice of a friend. Jane examined my baby and could pick the problem straight away. She was compassionate and concise, and offered me several options for treatment. After such great care in the consult room, I had no hesitation in booking in the surgery then and there. My girl has had her surgery and is now home and feeling a bit sore and sorry for herself, but I know she's been in the best possible care and I'm eager to get back to our regular walking and playtime as soon as Aunty Jane gives us the okay. :) Thank you all so very much!!

After more than 6 months of medical treatment at another vet for on-and-off lameness, my girl got worse last week and came to see Aunty Jane on the advice of a friend.
