Very disappointed with the way our shih tzu pup was handled last week .Taken in for ear check up ended up with a eye popping out of socket because they were too rough trying to clean his ear. I am still distressed about the situation and the horrible scene I saw with his eye. I am even more upset I was charged fully and not even a follow up call to see how the eye is going. I am scared to touch him incase it happens again. What annoyed and upset me the most he says its "common" for these dogs but still handled him roughly. It happened when he didn't like the way I was holding him and the nurse took over and so were not gentle and caring like I was. These dogs are small and fragile and it should never have happened. He even was sending me home with his eye like that. Finally he popped it in place because I was not letting it go. I am sure vets would have been mortified and shown some concern. Marcel has looked after my cat Bella and dogs Rocky and Mayja since roughly 2008 and we have never been anywhere else. When my cat Bella had a toe cut off somehow and was bleeding no other vet in area ( ryde or dundas areas) would help without paying first. We had no money till payday and Marcel was only interested in helping cat rather than money. We paid him over 2 weeks and have never looked back. We previously went to another clinic, in another suburb, which we felt pushed treatments on to us, to ramp up the cost. We are delighted to find Dr Marcel the polar opposite of the purely profit driven businesses which guilt you into paying for extra unnecessary tests, often when you are at your most vulnerable emotionally. Great service and reasonably priced ! Marcel and his team were great. I was given an explanation to everything, could freely ask questions and was made to feel part of her treatment. They even provided further advice on steps to take at home. My dog Coco feels much better. As a young pet owner the whole experience of going to the vet and getting the final bill is equally as nerveracking for me than my dog. Yet I was not shocked at all by the final bill! We have been seeing Ermington vet for 10 years. And cannot fault the staff and service. We see them for all emergencies and regular check ups.
