Too busy to care was my experience. Admin staff were diligent, but I was not happy with the acting vet's decision and handling of a script issue, along with their "must see animal policy". It was aparent securing a consultation over resolving a simple issue was a motivating factor for their stance over the phone.... I was on weekend holidays, and had just seen my vet 4 days ago. I had a script issued for antibiotics for a dog's gastro and was mid treatment. Yes, I forgot the tabs on the way out (300km away). I provided details of my vet back home for script verification and details of the medication necessary to continue treatment but was quickly dismissed without a consult (what I needed was a run of the mill gastro antibiotic). GVC refused to issue meds without seeing the animal but offered to see the pup post a 3 day wait period (their next available appointment). -If the script is verifiable and legal, pretty sure an email from a colegue with evidence of an active script Is sufficient for a vet practitioner to release needed medication without a consult. But hey I might be wrong as well as one other vet. I had problem sorted with another in 5 minutes. Must see animal "policy" in my mind is financially motivated and comes across as such under these circumstances when evidence can be provided for an active script. Staggered antibiotic treatment promotes resistance in bacteria and suppresses an animals self regulated immunity from prolonged or ad-hoc antibiotic use periods, if I know this these guys certainly do... I remain surprised with the complacency some practitioners of medicine (vet or other) continue to exhibit on this topic irrespective of all the scientific data on this matter. Simply put, I believe this could have been handled way better and will remind the establishment anyone can write a review based on their experience. Read Less
