Best experience I have ever had at a vet. I have a British bulldog and anyone who has one knows that a lot of vets can be rude and condescending when it comes to this breed. Dr Beth was exceptional. She has done thorough checks to make sure my puppy is well and given me advices on a lot of things. She’s even given me her mobile number to keep her updated on my puppy’s conditionals. I truely appreciate her effort in doing this! Only started coming here recently and the difference is night and day when compared to other vets. I have a pretty difficult pup with lots of allergies and Dr Ed always gets it right with him. The customer service is phenomenal. Yes it's not the cheapest place but you truly get what you pay for. Reception and nurses are lovely and you can see all staff are there because they want to be. I went to Dr Sam almost 4 years ago with a very sick Kitti. She was not supposed to live. Dr Sam went above and beyond day and night to help my Kitti and saved her. She is now a healthy cheeky cat. I have been going to Southern Cross since then with my other cats with life threatening problems to getting their teeth cleaned. There is always a promt follow up. Have seen Dr Sam ever since I had my first dog. It has been about 4 years and I have 2 dogs and 1 cat now. Dr Sam did the desex surgery for all of them. They recovered very well and quickly every time. Have also seen the other doctors in the hospital for a few times for some random checks. Everyone is nice and patient! Came here for the first time yesterday for a general check up for my 2 year old dog. Can not recommend this vet practice enough. Saw Dr Beth yesterday and she was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Treated my dog for an ear infection which went undiagnosed from numerous vets. Polaroids of the animals being treated adds to the extremely warm vibe of this clinic. Prices are very reasonable, and the service was beyond outstanding. I've never been at a vet as welcoming and as helpful as this, I took my 2 week old rat in who was the runt of the litter, not eating and was underfed to the point of malnutrition, but Sam and the team here saved him! As soon as i took him in within half an hour i had new formula to feed and had been told what was wrong with him and how to fix it, i was then given medication and within 2 days MAJORLY improved, i'm convinced they saved his life! I cannot recommend this vet enough! All of the vets, nurses and reception staff have been so friendly and helpful for my both me and my dog. Since I got him I've been coming here on recommendation from other pug owners in the area and I would not go anywhere else. I enjoy the text message reminders and updates they send as well as the vets being very helpful with all of my questions while I'm there. When Albie had an emergency and I had to rush him in one afternoon, the receptionist Dee calmed me down and gave me a glass of wine sharing stories while the vets looked after him. Excellent service, professional & friendly. My last vet was easily the most miserable place to walk into, the staff politics were so obvious it bled onto the customer experience. I was recommended Southern Cross by a friend after I expressed my frustration with the vet I was using. From the start the staff have been interested in the well being of my dog and provided her with the care and warmth we want our pets to have. As a new client they gave me a walk around to see the facilities they also squeezed my dogs glands for free even though I hadn't paid for any services at that point. During a big procedure this week the nurses called to keep me updated with progress as my dog was under general. I took my cat to Southern Cross Veterinary Clinic for the first time yesterday and cannot rate them highly enough! Dr Matt was absolutely lovely with my cat, knowledgable and caring. He gave me a tour of the clinic so I could see what would happen if my animals needed more serious care. The receptionist was warm, welcoming and offered everyone waiting a drink. There was laughing in the waiting area! And today they called me to see how my cat was faring and whether she was taking the medications. I can't rave about Southern Cross Vet Clinic enough. Sam and the team are amazing. They aren't like other Vet Clinics in that ONLY animal lovers are employed and it shows. We took our new puppy, Rocky for his second lot of shots and we were lucky enough to be assigned Dr Gianna who was kind, gentle, loving (but not over the top) and she was full of knowledge that she passed on to us. Gianna also personally called me 2 days after Rocky had his shots to ask me how he was going. Wow, I'm so impressed. We attended our first 'Puppy Party' last night and even though little Rocky was feeling a bit intimidated by the bigger puppies, the gentle staff assured me that it would only take a couple of parties before he joins in. Gianna also told us about a puppy training service that the clinic like to use and I will be booking Rocky in with Shelley soon. I can't wait for Puppy Party next week. You see, not only are all of the puppies running around having a good time, the owners all sit around socialising and swapping stories, hints and tips. Thank you Sam, Gianna, Emma, Mia and the rest of the staff that I haven't met yet. I had another dog for 16 years, who I took to another Vet more local to me and I spent a lot of time crying. I felt that ever time I went they had a plan as to what new testing they could do on him to create more fictitious ailments so I just stopped taking him there or anywhere. I have been told that Sam has a vision for what a Vet should be to families. I dont know the details of his vision but I can tell you, it's working. There should be 100 stars, not just 5! I cannot recommend Doc Sam and his team enough! They have been so welcoming and caring from the first day we took our little Pixel there. They treat you like family and they genuinely care about you and your pets. Southern cross isn't even the local vet in our area... But they're that good we're always willing to make the trip to the clinic because we know that our little girl will be cared for like she was one of their own. I can't put into words how fantastic Dr Sam and the Southern Cross Veterinary team is. They have been an amazing support when our puppy girl passed away suddenly last christmas. Dr. Sam showed up at the clinic before we could rush our much missed puppy there on a Saturday evening. We were grateful to see just how caring Dr. Sam was to our fur baby. Unfortunately our girl was long gone due to a severe case of rota virus infection. The team and Dr.Sam were incredibly supportive, understanding and gave us all the support we needed during a very difficult time. Our new pup Teddy is also being looked after professionally by Dr.Sam & the amazing team. He enjoyed a wonderful day at the clinic's newly opened day care centre, had lots of fun with the loving team at the play center and came home happy (but exhausted). NOW LOOK NO FURTHER.... This practice is a little Gem in the heart of the Inner-West. My little girl Casey, a King Charles Cavalier was diagnose with severe Hip Dysplasia at 8mths old. After seeing a Specialist & being told to wait until she turned 1 Year, was a decision I was not comfortable with. Casey also has luxating patella's in both her knees. ( Stage 2 ) So I decided to get a second opinion & along came Southern Cross Vet's. They definitely met my needs & gave me the option of doing a Femoral Head Ostectomy ( FHO ) & needless to say, turned out to be very successful. I cannot thank Doctor Alex, Doctor Sam & all the Nurses & the amazing receptionist enough for their hard work. They have all exceeded in everyway. Their commitment, loyalty & compassion goes above & beyond. And they work fantastic as a team... Most importantly, it's not about the money... It's about US & our 4 legged friends. Honestly, I don't think you will ever find a practice like this anywhere unless you move to the Country. We took our little frenchie to be dessexed last week. The place was clean and we were greeted by a boxer who was super friendly! Our experience was great. My pup is just due back in 10 days for a check up. The post procedure education was good and they gave our pup 3 days worth of pain relief.
