We had a mixed experience with the veterinary clinic in West Ryde. We rang in advanced and made an appointment for a general check up for our 2 ferrets. When we arrived 5 minutes before our appointment we were told it was going to be a 40 minute wait until we could be seen as there were 4 walk ins in front of us. As we lived very close up the road and the waiting room was extremely cramped, the receptionist offered to give us a call when the person in front of us went in to see the vet. We obliged, a little annoyed that we were up for a long wait when we had booked. An hour goes by and we are still waiting to be called back. I rang to be answered by someone else, saying she wasn't sure why we hadn't been called yet and she would make sure we were to be called within minutes. Our receptionist rang back then saying the person who was before us had gone in, no mention of us having to call in first. We came back and sat for approx 15 minutes before going in to see the vet, the person who came out of the vet was not in the waiting to be seen when we had come in before. Honestly we were not happy at this point and feeling like we had been forgotten and that walk ins were more prioritised then actual bookings. However things took a turn for the positive when we actually saw the vet. She was lovely and gave us the first actual apology for the wait and mix up that had happened with our booking. Then she proceeded to be so kind to both our ferrets and was very helpful. We would honestly go back, might not bother with a booking though as we wasted half a day waiting around for them after making one. They really don't honour their bookings and place much more importance on walk ins. However their actual vets are lovely and very caring and kind and are good hands for your pets. They also have reasonable prices with general check ups being $60 per pet. Read Less

KILLED MY 4 MONTH OLD KITTEN!! π
(desexing, vaccinations and microchipping)
Instead of calling me to go down and calm her or even them trying to calm her down after seeing how anxious and stressed she was, they just held her down and jabbed her with the anesthesia! Which caused her heart to give out.
All they said was sorry and gave me my dead cat wrapped up in a towel.
They tried to justify that it was the cats fault and not theirs. Tried to get me to feel sorry for them because she scratched and bit them.
She was my whole life! She was my threapy pet! Read Less

I came here with my precious Angel as it was recommended by the pound I adopted her from. Understandably when I arrived it was 6:30pm, half an hour to closing time, however the nurse nor the vet seemed to have little interest in us when I waited at the entrance. They were all cooing over the dog that was before Angel.
When we were finally summoned into the room, the vet didn't even bother to introduce himself (seeing that I've never been there before, usually they do introduce themselves), had a quick poke at Angel and dismissed us with a wave of hand, saying that she'll be fine.
Not exactly the caring and loving attitude towards animals I would expect from a vet!
