Consultation and Health Checks
At Algester Vets our 20 minute consultations are on an appointment basis (of course excepting emergencies) where
our caring and friendly vets provide a thorough examination for anything from a yearly vaccination check to serious
health concerns.
Payment Plan
Though we recommend pet insurance to help alleviate the cost of veterinary treatment, we do understand that circumstances may mean not everyone has pet insurance. We offer a payment plan through Vetpay for these particular situations. Please enquire at the clinic for further terms and conditions.
Microchipping
If you have ever lost a pet, you will understand the feelings of fear, panic and loss that is associated with this traumatic event. Microchipping is the only permanent and reliable way of identifying your pet and reuniting them back to their families. This involves inserting a small chip (the size of a grain of rice) under the loose skin on the back of your pets neck. The chip only contains a unique number that is registered to a national central database. The database then stores your contact details. A lost pet is scanned at a rescue centre or vet clinic for their unique number and the central database is contacted so that their family can be contacted and reunited with their pet.
Please note that microchipping your pet in Queensland does not automatically register them to your local council. In Brisbane, it is compulsory to register both dogs and cats with the Brisbane City Council by 12 weeks of age.
