Visiting Caloundra on holidays my dog needed a vet. I wandered into the Battery Hill Vet clinic without appointment. Ernie and Annette were wonderful. They were extremely caring and were most generous with their time. Ernie was warm and personable to both me and my dog. He undertook a comprehensive examination and provided professional diagnosis and treatment. I have been to many vets over the years and have never been treated so well. We have lived on a farm & had a lot to do with animals & had many vets over the years. In recent years Dr Ernie, as we affectionately call him, has been our vet. He & Annette are very caring & compassionate with animals. Nothing is too much trouble - the animals' welfare is always paramount. They love to see happy, smiling pet owners too! We cannot thank them enough for what they have done for us & our animals. March 2018 - We now have two young cats - Smokey & her bandit sister Misty. They were at Battery Hill Vet needing a home after being rescued by Ernie & Annette. Ernie checked their health & gave them their injections & they have a new life with us. They have just been back to see Ernie & Annette this week for desexing. They are lucky little girls to have such caring people save them & take care of their health needs. My cat TC was passing blood and my usual vet was booked out, but informed me he could have 36 hours to live! Battery Hill was 4th vet I contacted, others were fully booked but all said how urgent it was to see a vet! Ernie and Annette saw me right away, after just two visits problem fixed. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost too, with two injections and weeks worth of pills, plus peace of mind, very reasonable. Was recommended to go to this Vet by our Pet Carers. Hadn't thought I'd need one so soon, and very much appreciated being able to make an appointment at pretty short notice. Felt very welcomed by the team who all came out to meet me and Rufus the dog. The surgery presents as a non nonsense and professional set up and Ernie Young, the sole,vet who owns the practice was Avery straightforward to deal with. Many years of experience behind him and certainly inspired confidence. I particularly appreciate being treated as a dog owner who is capable of working in partnership with the Vet (some folks tend to treat you like youre one brick short of a load). I thought the costs were reasonable and came away feeling very glad to have found such a great Vet close to where I'm now living, having recently moved up from Brisbane. I could not recommend Ernie highly enough as a vet. I have been taking my dachshunds to him for at least 6 years now, after seeking to find a good vet for a few years, and Ernie stood out with his calm, friendly demeanour and an impressive amount of experience in the field. Ernie is so knowledgeable and really cares for the animals. My girls are always so loved when we go visit Ernie and Annette. They show so much affection towards them, and are such lovely and genuine people. Missy and Laila (my beautiful dachshunds) love Annette and Ernie at Battery Hill Vet, they always get a yummy treat and a good pat after their consult, and I know I can trust them to give my girls the absolute best veterinary care, and the cost is always very reasonable.
