General Info
We bought the Aspley Veterinary Pactice from Dr Richard (Harley) Lomax in 1997. At the time it was in an old wooden Queenslander on Gympie Road where Harley had practiced for nearly 30 years. When Harley began practice there was no veterinarian to the north of him until you reached Townsville.
Since 1997 we have built a new facility, replaced all the equipment, and introduced highly trained nurses. Aspley is now able to offer full service patient care with veterinary and nursing staff on-site six days a week; dedicated surgery suite; in-house biochemistry and haematology analysis, and dedicated hospital facilities for patients needing to stay with us.
The most valuable asset we gained from the old practice was Dr Jill Retell who continues practising today

Routine desexings
Soft tisssue surgery
Dental procedures
In house pathology (including blood tests)
Puppy Preschool
Weight Loss Club
Preventative health care advice
Nutrition advice

Moved from another vets to this one which was the best decision. Super easy to book in, caring and knowledgeable staff. So far they have been really attentive whilst trying to interfere with our puppy as little as possible (going for the staples over anesthetic and stitches etc). Will be sticking to this one

I've been taking my 2 cats to this vet for 5 years now and each time they've been lovely. But it was just recently when my older boy got terminally sick they really showed how genuinely compassionate and caring they are. They weren't clinical or condescending. They were as considerate for the well-being of us as they were our pet and when it came to the end we could not have asked for a gentler, kinder more sympathetic person to help us through it. I only wish they had after hours care as well. They're also not cheap but when it came to ensuring our beloved fur babies were well cared for, it's probably worth it.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Obviously love working with animals. Charges are reasonable to high.
If someone came out to check reception within 10 mins would be 5 stars.

Just a quick review. My wife and I attempted to foster a rescue dog (we failed, we kept her!). Anyway, the rescue organisation arranged for her to be desexed. The treatment was first class and the care and concern for our little lass was very heart warming. Our little foster dog presented to the vets with a severe internal infection (unknown at the time) but their compassion with her plight impressed us enough to write here. Happy to recommend.

We took our elderly Shazzy to Aspley Vets after a very unpleasurable visit to another vet. At Apley Vets we met Dr Danielle, a lovely kind caring empathetic vet. With her help, she gave us an extra 4 weeks with out beloved Shazz. Poor Shazz had aggressive tumours and lung cancer. With help from the lovely staff, we were able to give Shazz another 4 weeks of intense spoiling and love. When her time was due, when Shazzy was ready, they helped us to assist Shazz over the rainbow bridge into a world of peace where she was no longer in pain. Cannot express just how kind, empathetic and caring they all are, especially in our time of grief. We will be taking our other furbaby there.

I have been attending this practice with my two dogs for the past couple of years, and I have only positive things to say about them. They have helped us through injuries and illnesses, and through the euthanasia of one of our much loved dogs. They are caring, professional, up to date, and genuinely committed to animal welfare.

But it was just recently when my older boy got terminally sick they really showed how genuinely compassionate and caring they are. They weren't clinical or condescending.
