There are no words that I could use that can convey how appreciative I am to the team at Currumbin Valley for there wonderful, caring and amazing treatment of my birds. I would totally recommend anyone who’s birds need help to go see these guys. Penny (Peter the awesome vets wife) is truely amazing the way she cares and shows so much love and affection to my little ones makes it so much easier leaving them behind - I am sure Penny loves them all as much as I do - it’s such a relief to know that when my birds need help that they are getting the attention, treatment and love they need - and honestly even if I had to drive 2 hours to get to them I would as I know that I want my birds to be cared for by the best and they are in my opinion they are the best - Thank you to all of the staff who have taken such great care of my birds and an even bigger thank you to Penny for always being there when I need your advise and for being the bird whisperer that you are (this was definitely your calling and to know you are looking after my babies makes it far less stressful). Penny and all their staff are the best avian vets around, when uncles budgie was unwell, they did their very best, when we lost truffles, they encouraged us to do a short course to look after birds better, we were then offered to orphaned female budgies, not only did we flourish ,they did too.. Just recently uncle passed away, through a series of unfortunate events, I required their boarding/surrendering service's, without hesitation, they took them home again, until such time..god bless you all n merry Xmas to staff n all creatures great n small. Such a relief to find a vet with so much knowledge to help our budgie but willing to share the knowledge and educate us with how to better look after him. I recently boarded my bird, he went in healthy and when i picked him up he was on deaths door. After i was alerted to the fact that he was unwell 5 days before collecting him, i gave instructions to do whatever was necessary, as it was suggested that they might do xrays. However, nothing was done. I was told he seemed better. I was shocked at how sick he was. He hadn't even been fed at 10.30am in the morning as they hadn't got around to it. $800 later at another amazing vet, he is slowly recovering. NEVER AGAIN. Read Less

Penny and Pete were really great with assisting me to help my bearded dragon whom I had rescued, he had quite a few worms and needed some Treatment and care over a 4-5 day period at their vet, reasonably priced and very helpful with advice, my bearderd dragon (Jub Jub) is now doing a lot better thanks to them, I also found out she's a girl (not a boy) haha, but they are such caring loving people whom have helped me in the past with another rescue bearded dragon whom I had to sadly have put to sleep, penny was very lovely on the day I had to put my beardie to sleep, they have such a beautiful area outside to explore too if you need to wait, I just want to thank Pete and penny for all their honesty and help and I will be going back to them in the future, (: Read Less

I totally agree with some people's reviews on their ridiculous inaccurate total fee. My Guinea pig had a runny nose and that was all I wanted them to treat. Peter told me that it will be less than $200 for the total including the consultation so I decided to go ahead with it. But on the day I had to pick him up (which ended up 4 days of stay instead of originally 3 days) they charged me over $500. I was very shocked with it. I was so angry the best they can do is cut down to $400. I don't care about reasons like oh we had to give him this or do this because of whatever reason. Not being honest with their initial total estimate fee and not letting the carer know whether it is okay about the increment of the fee prior to any procedure is very unprofessional and untrustworthy. I didn't know about borrowing nebulizer too which now I have to drive far away there again just to return it. If they have had told me this information in the beginning I would've gone to a vet one of my family members went where it is much cheaper and less stays. They seemed nice at first but I will never return. This older lady has spoke to me like it's none of their fault and that vet is always expensive, and that I should apply for a vet pay then. I just want to say, it's not about that, it's about your vet without our permission going ahead with things and stealing our money doubling more than the initial estimated total cost. The older woman who works here sometimes picks up birds for customer, anyway she come and got my bird and assured me the vet bill would not be astronomical! Once the vet had my bird i did not agree to the vet work as i was quoted over a thousand dollars! The horrible woman who picked up my bird told me she would not return my bird for 3 days when i was told she could bring her home the next day on pick up, no regard for my bird at all, so i went and got my bird the next morning and they charged me nearly 300 for having her over night with no treatment. My bird is fine now she was treated by a bird vet in Brisbane for a fraction of the price currumbin Valley vet quoted me. These people are so unprofessional and a major rip off!Read Less

This was the first time I have taken a budgie to the vet. Thankfully I noticed the abscess and Dr Peter was able to successfully operate. Peter and Penny are amazing!! They are so professional and so compassionate. They gave me good tips on how to feed Sunny a healthier diet and make his cage a happier place with native branches.
