We have 2 puppies and have found the vet clinic and the puppy school to be excellent. Both the puppy class and the obedience class. I was reading the reviews on here and found one about the puppy school. Firstly the ones bring trained are the humans. Clearly this woman has never attended a class here or she would know this. I would NEVER hurt my beautiful puppies to get them to do what I need them to do them but I will not bribe them with treats either. I have been taught to reward them with pats and love ( not food bribes as I do not carry around puppy treats with me when we go out ) I tell them what good boys they are. When they do something wrong a stern voice is used. The lady that takes the puppy school is a person who clearly loves animal and has saved many from being destroyed because of untrained owners who do not have dogs that know how to behave. If you want people who truely care about your animals visit this clinic.Read Less

I was disappointed after speaking with your puppy class instructor, to find I was not welcome to attend with my puppy for the purpose of socialisation only. The instructor uses the old fashioned method of correction and won't allow food treats and so I asked if I could just socialise my puppy as I don't believe in using punishment on baby puppies. When I suggested she may learn more modern methods by attending seminars with well known dog trainers she said she didn't need to. I am very disappointed with such a narrow minded approach and feel sorry that owners will not be offered positive reinforcement methods which is the norm nowadays at dog training schools. Your own A.V.A. advocates using positive reinforcement in dog training and I respectfully suggest that a new and up to date approach by your clinic is warranted. Read Less
