As per previous reviews, this practice is more concerned about taking money from owners and delaying appropriate treatment at the expense of the animal involved. I had a terrible experience followed by a prolonged death of my dog. During this time, my dog and myself were taken advantage of with the ordering of multiple unnecessary tests, multiple anaesthetics for surgery where the consent was for a different procedure and such poor (and conveniently expensive) decision making that I cannot believe it was only due to negligence. It is sad to see a practice of supposedly ethically bound professionals taking advantage of people and their pets for financial gain. Read Less

More interested in emptying out my wallet than the best interests of my pet. They would have actively harmed my dog for the sake of earning more had I not been aware of other options they neglected to tell me about, and they lied to me about the other options when I asked after them. They went to the most expensive and invasive tests possible immediately, rather than recommend the normal, much cheaper standard first tests, recommending general anesthetic and exploratory surgery for two thousand dollars, instead of a fine needle aspiration for two hundred. They didn't even mention to me that other test existed! Fortunately my father and uncles are vets interstate so I'd already sought opinions and went in knowing what should be done and what should have happened. I even tried to give them a way out and asked about the fine needle aspiration option and they flat out lied to me and said that wasn't possible. I took my pet to a different vet and they managed it in under 10 minutes! The lump turned out to just be a benign fatty lump under my dog's skin. Completely unnecessary to do any invasive surgery over. Additionally the vet was absolutely terrible with how they handled my dog. This is the one and only time I've ever seen my four year old dog become so distressed as to nip at somebody. She is an anxious and usually submissive dog, and she doesn't like the vets to be fair, but I've never seen her this upset before. It's unprofessional to attempt to put an anxious animal through completely unnecessary surgery like that. They should be ashamed of themselves. These aren't the actions of a practice that cares about the animals under their care. Read Less

Amazing care with options for holistic medicine. Also very modest with their fees. My cat was diagnosed with kidney problems four years ago. Now she is 19 years old and still happy and enjoying life, thanks to Animal Wellness Vet Clinic and their holistic approach (there is no effective pharmaceutical treatment). The ongoing support from them has been phenomenal. They also seem to have an unmatched knowledge of fine details - things that are subtle but make a huge difference to an old cat. Even though I have moved to the Sunshine Coast, I still travel to Brisbane to see them as they make such a difference. I can't recommend them enough and encourage people to make the drive even if they live far away. It could add years to your pet's life. Read Less

Words fail to express how much I appreciate the staff at Animal Wellness. Elaine and the gang are absolutely the best. They listen to the animal and treat holistically. They are mindful of your beloved pets stress levels when going to the vet and have put in place, simple, yet really effect measures to make it a good experience. We have been going here for a few months but were put off by some recent bad experiences. This vet seems to take the word consult out of consultation. While we care immensely for our animals and want them to be as healthy as possible, we were told what was happening, not provided any alternatives or suggestions and generally given a lack of information regarding why decisions were made. I understand if a vet is a purist but to be insisting on procedures immediately without taking into context financial (time) constraints just results in poor service. I feel while the heart is in the right place other areas let them down dramatically. Read Less

So so happy to have found Dr Elaine and the Animal Wellness clinic! We had a fantastic first appointment today. My 12y/o bull terrier Lulu had a few lipomas aspirated and some warts removed quickly and professionally right then and there with local anaesthetic. The staff were lovely and the bill was extremely reasonable. As someone who is very conscious and pro-active about the health of my whole family (canine incl!) this is the first time I've encountered a vet who's on the same page as me about holistic, integrated animal care. The team at Animal Wellness were amazing. My Pomeranian became completely paralysed one day and after seeing 2 different Vets we still didn't know the cause. But one visit with Elaine and we had a diagnosis and a plan to get him up and going again. After a couple months of acupuncture, essential oils and laser therapy and he is now completely healed and is running around like normal. Elaine and the team at Animal Wellness have taken amazing care of my dog Bacon! He has arthritis and once tore a cruciate ligament requiring surgery, but with Elaine's support including Accupuncture, massage, and a recipe for a natural diet, that knee has fully recovered.
