No where will come close to the personalised service the cat clinic mount gravatt provides. They are amazing people who do amazing things. They also take in and find homes for around 150 unwanted/abandoned cats a year. They have the most advanced medical equipment available including a CT machine, they were the first kidney transplant unit in Australia and their vets are called upon for expert opinion, with many of their peers seeking their advice on complex issues. You would think to attend a clinic like this would cost an arm and a leg, however i was pleasantly surprised to see that they were actually less expensive than one of the well known franchise vets that i was previously going to. Without the teams from both Paddington and Mt Gravatt our 3yo Burmese, Hendrix, would have passed away. He was transferred with mass internal hemorrhaging from a suspected car hit, and diagnosed by Dr Marcus with Ratsak poisoning. Yesterday, we lost our beautiful boy Biggles. Nearly 3 years ago he got cancer, but with the help of Marcus, Alison and others, he went into remission and got another 2 1/2 years of happy healthy life. But recently the cancer came back really suddenly. We realised that he was in a lot of pain, so with heavy hearts we made the impossible decision to let Mandy at help him along to a peaceful place. Our hearts are broken. But the help and compassion showed by Mandy at the end was wonderful. And later that day they even sent flowers which warmed our hearts. Friendly service. To be charged $31 for my cat to sit in a cage and wait for her to pee was ridiculous. I called prior requesting how much the service I needed would cost and was told $135 for a urine test and consult $200 later it was a minor infection. Sent on my way. I understand things need to be paid for but really $67 to tell me she needs a urine test then another $69 for a urine test. It was just an fee you could think of I was charged. Absolutely amazing clinic. Recently had my cat Jack in the Cat Clinic because of a brain tumor. The clinic went above and beyond in their care for him. Unfortunately his tumor was untreatable and i had to make the decision to put him to sleep, the staff at the clinic were so caring and supportive during this difficult time, and they even sent flowers. I've been to Mt.Gravatt Cat Clinic three or four times with two of my felines Billy & Chelsea. Until my last visit with Chelsea I was pleased with their service & help. My last visit with Chelsea however had me walk away completely feeling screwed over with the outcome of the consultation . She was not eating & listless for a day & I had a very young vet attend her. Their answer to her issue was to have complete blood works carried out. After no improvement & two more days & a second consultation, the senior vet Marcus was put forward to administer an antibiotic paste. Immediately she started eating & returned to her normal health. This showed me one thing! The inexperienced ripped me off to the value of $400 without any improvement & someone with experience nipped it in the bud for $90? I will search elsewhere for my cats to be treated!Read Less

I just want to share with you my girls final story below and thank Marcus especially, but the rest of the team also, for the wonderful care and compassion they have shown us and Bella. We thank God for Marcus, he is so knowledgable, yet quiet and unassuming, we know our cats are in the best possible hands with him. Thank you Marcus :-) From Bella's perspective: "On the last morning I got out of my bed in Mums room and headed straight out to the Cat Paradise. Mum bought my bed out and put it in my commando tent and covered me up with my blankie as the sun wasn't on the paradise just yet. Then my Uncle John came over and gave me some pats and took some photos of me and Mum and Mum took some of me and Uncle John. Yesterday my friend Heidi came and said goodbye and today Dad even came home early to see me smile emoticon:-) I was pretty tired of all the fussing by then but still happy. Then Marcus came and took my pain away and now I'm in a place where I can always be outdoors because the sun is always shining on my beautiful face. I can't recommend them highly enough, their care of my elderly cat has been exceptional to say the least and they really REALLY love and know cats. From the moment you call them, their care and concern for your cat is genuine, and they go out of their way to go above and beyond what you would expect from your vet practice. Each time I go there, I am always in impressed with the way they genuinely have my cat's best interest in mind (Not whats going to net them the most $$ like some practices). They are calm and my cat is always treated gently and lovingly and that's what I love best about them. Their service is so personalised, I've never felt like another number. Importantly, they know their stuff, other vets refer cats to them (i know as i've been at the counter when they have put the call through) and they epitomise what all other vet practice's should strive to be. I have found them to be so reasonable with price, when i first took my cat there, I was expecting (and willing) to pay more for their services, since they were a cat only clinic. I've been to the Mt Gravatt Cat Clinic for years with my cat Teeka who is a Bengal. She is quite temperamental and hates going to the vet with a passion. Even though she scratches the Vet to pieces they are always calm and patient in waiting for her to calm down. They never get frustrated, they touch her with care and they just wait for her to feel comfortable. I also got my new Kitten desexed there and she developed a lump in her stomach shortly after the surgery. I was worried so I called them and told them about the lump, they made room to fit her in straight away and treated her. Luckily they did it in time to save my baby from a hernia! they also didn't charge for the consultation which saved me heaps. Over all they are the best place I've ever been to and I would recommend them to anyone who loves their cat.
