We have been bringing our two cats to Palmwoods Vet for years now and have always been extremely happy with the level of care they've received. Brett is very knowledgeable and competent and he and his staff are kind, gentle, caring and compassionate. Both our boys can get very stressed at the vet's and are not always easy to handle but both Brett and his wonderful nurses deal with them beautifully. Brett also charges very reasonably. This is an excellent vet practice and I highly recommend it. Read Less

Such a very disappointing experience. My cat passed away at the surgery and the vet said they would hold onto her body as it was my birthday and I wanted to bury her at home but on the following weekend. I asked if they would hold her body for me until sat and that my son in law would collect her and the cat carrier i brought her in. They said that would be fine bu sadly when my S.IL went to collect her he was told that the freezer got too full and they had to dispose of her. I am so disgusted and heartbroken over this. No one even bothered to call me, plus they tried to keep my cat carrier. :( NEVER AGAIN!! Read Less

Brett Stone's Veterinary practice is what you expect a caring, semi-rural practice to be. Brett himself is a genuinely caring and clearly very competent and intuitive vet who has always been quick to diagnose and to treat effectively. Our 23 year old cat Molly (yes, 23!) sees him once a month when she has her maintenance shot and our Springer Spaniel Nellie, who has had a few scrapes in her time, (a very advanced tick, a cancerous growth on her inner eyelid...), has always received the best of care. Nell pulls on her lead and rushes in to see Brett and the team! The vet nurses and other staff are excellent also and I really can't recommend this practice highly enough. Brett does not over service and his charges are very reasonable. His love of animals shines through and he is always cheery with time for you and your pets, even on occasions when you can see he is tired. (Brett is often called out to farm animals at all hours.) Full marks to Palmwoods Vet Clinic. We're so glad Brett and the team are there for us and our beloved pets! Read Less

Had some not so nice experiences with this practice. Kids guinea pig on the brink of death, vet came out and in the one sentence said, 'sorry, we gave him an ice bath and some oxygen but he's dead, that'll be $80 please.' Without even taking a breath. Not very empathetic people. Then a friend, who was a regular at the vets and had been going for a few weeks due to some problems with her dog, accidentally left her wallet at home. Said she would leave her dog there while she rushed back to go get so she could pay. They refused to let her leave like she was some criminal and she had to ring around until a friend could pick up the keys from the vet, go to her house and get it for her. Unfriendly and unkind.
