Salisbury Veterinary Surgery was opened in 1983. As the reputation spread about it's good service and fair pricing, it slowly evolved into a strong general practice, seeing mainly cats and dogs, with the occasional rat, mouse and guinea pig. A New Direction With the acquisition of Salisbury Vet in 1999, John Wright has broadened the knowledge and resources of the practice. The current philosphy of the practice is to offer, and provide the best service to our clients.
A NEW DIRECTION
Originally being a full-time practicing Pharmacist, John has a broad knowledge and application of Veterinary and Human medication, which provides a deeper understanding of how medication will help your pet. John is aware how knowledgeable the general population is today, so he likes to tell them exactly what he thinks the problem is, and then explains the best approach (or approaches) to resolving the presenting problem.
In 2005, the Surgery was relocated to 220 Lillian Ave. These bigger premises enable: seperate Dog and Cat hospital wards, a second consult/grooming/multi purpose room, a larger seperate surgical theatre and a larger retail floor space.
In 2016, Salisbury Vet was again relocated to even larger premises, due to the increasing client demand for our professional services and our large range of oursurgical capabilities
CONTINUING EDUCATION
To enable the best service, continuing education is vital. In the last six years, John has attended several week-long conferences, has completed three year-long distance education courses Feline Medicine in 2000, Surgery in 2001 and Radiology in 2005. This is supplemented by attending local continuing education seminars, presented by Veterinary Specialists Services (Underwood), and the many on-line Webinars.
Our efficient nurses are continually informed of the latest treatments and medications available. They are competent groomers, surgical assistants, hospital attendants, as well as receptionists. They always greet our clients in a warm friendly manner.
