Salisbury Vet Surgery

Salisbury, Queensland
General Info

Salisbury Veterinary Surgery was opened in 1983. As the reputation spread about it's good service and fair pricing, it slowly evolved into a strong general practice, seeing mainly cats and dogs, with the occasional rat, mouse and guinea pig. A New Direction With the acquisition of Salisbury Vet in 1999, John Wright has broadened the knowledge and resources of the practice. The current philosphy of the practice is to offer, and provide the best service to our clients.
A NEW DIRECTION
Originally being a full-time practicing Pharmacist, John has a broad knowledge and application of Veterinary and Human medication, which provides a deeper understanding of how medication will help your pet. John is aware how knowledgeable the general population is today, so he likes to tell them exactly what he thinks the problem is, and then explains the best approach (or approaches) to resolving the presenting problem.
In 2005, the Surgery was relocated to 220 Lillian Ave. These bigger premises enable: seperate Dog and Cat hospital wards, a second consult/grooming/multi purpose room, a larger seperate surgical theatre and a larger retail floor space.
In 2016, Salisbury Vet was again relocated to even larger premises, due to the increasing client demand for our professional services and our large range of oursurgical capabilities
CONTINUING EDUCATION
To enable the best service, continuing education is vital. In the last six years, John has attended several week-long conferences, has completed three year-long distance education courses Feline Medicine in 2000, Surgery in 2001 and Radiology in 2005. This is supplemented by attending local continuing education seminars, presented by Veterinary Specialists Services (Underwood), and the many on-line Webinars.
Our efficient nurses are continually informed of the latest treatments and medications available. They are competent groomers, surgical assistants, hospital attendants, as well as receptionists. They always greet our clients in a warm friendly manner.

Leyna (my 9 month old chihuahua) and I had such a great experience at Salisbury Vet Surgery. During the short time in the waiting area I witnessed very caring, careful treatment of other pets, which was very reassuring. The front desk staff were very friendly, attentive and courteous and the facilities were extremely clean. Dr Clint provided us with exceptional service. He was very gentle, asks the right questions and takes the time to properly diagnose. I will definitely continue to go here and will be recommending this vet/veterinary clinic to everyone! . I can not say thank you enough for your care of my beloved Furbie cat. You made my heartbreak a little easier to bare, I am still heartbroken but I know you did an exceptional job with Furbie, bringing him back from diabetes into remission and everything else you had done for him in the last 11years, like fixing his mouth when he fell up the stairs( omg a cat with no finesse). Thank you all for your lovely card and fantastic care you showed both of us. I love you guys, you have absolute compassion for animals. x Read Less

We've been going to Dr John and team since we moved to Brissie in 2002 and a friend recommended them. We've never had any reason to fault either Dr John, or his staff. He's always looked after our animals with the utmost care and compassion. To date he's looked after five dogs, seven cats and three rats, and not once has he been anything other than exemplary. We're looking forward to seeing the team in their new surgery next week with our new puppy!! Thank you all for all your care and compassion over the years. In addition to our animals, my daughter and I always stop and pick up any strays we see (if we can catch them) and the clinic is always happy to stop and see whether they're microchipped for us so we can affect a quick return to their family rather than taking them to the RSPCA. I remember one particular one where the dog we'd found was actually one of their patients, so they rang the owner, then offered to keep the dog in their clinic until the owner could come and pick her up, but the owner didn't have transport, so we drove her home. I was particularly impressed at how much care and concern the nursing staff (Shelly and Jenny in this case) gave to a stray, even before they knew it was one of their patients. Read Less

I have used them for over 5 years. I find them to be very helpful, in a variety of situations, routine and emergency. I find the front staff extremely helpful and efficient, with very few errors in scheduling, mailing appointments and reminders, and getting me in on short notice. I have seen 3 different vets at this surgery at different times and found them all to be professional in attending my pets, educating me on various aspects of pet health. I am a medical doctor, with prior experience in customer service. I can't imagine anyone could do better than this practice, lead by Dr John but with much capable assistance.
