My daughter and I found a lost dog that was literally on Hanford Rd, Zillmere. We quickly parked in the side street and found him again in the park opposite the school. We got his trust and led him to our car, my daughter had to carry him into the car, he climbed all over us in the front seat, we had no choice but to leave him where he was because he was so scared and all he wanted was to be close to us so I hugged him all the way to Stafford QVS. When we were there my daughter walked him half way to the counter and he wouldn't go any further, when I told the nurse that we were there after speaking to her earlier on the phone, she quickly put the lead around his neck and tried to drag him when he was clearly traumatized, I told her not to do that, my daughter and I coaxed him further, then she struggled with him trying to put him behind the counter at the same time explaining that when he is taken through the doors it is their responsibility and we will have to sign a waiver form. She brought him behind the desk at the same time looking for the form he was clearly distressed, he was struggling to get to us but ended up climbing the filing cabinet and knocking a few items all over the floor, he looked at my daughter with a look that just broke our hearts. While my daughter was completing the form another nurse came in to hold him while the first nurse scanned him, I had to ask her if he was micro chipped and she said he was, I was so relieved but wasn't sure if she said that to get rid of us. We left there feeling like we did the wrong thing by him, he trusted us and we betrayed him! The vet nurse was not king or gentle or even tried to gain his trust, in fact she didn't have the time for him at all. The next day I called to see if the owner had taken him home ,we were so worried about him. The girl who answered was new and had to find out if she was allowed to give out that information, and course the answer was NO and that was it, no explanation as to why, they made me feel like a criminal. We never even new his name. As we found him on Sunday all vets but the specialist/Emergency vets were closed, we had a choice of Albany Creek or Stafford QVS, we picked the wrong one. I've had experiences with both and all I can say is I have had my worst experiences at QVS including this one. Read Less

From telephone communications to meeting Vet Karen Teo, the care and honestly was like I knew them before. All was explained in such a empathetic way as I had to make the decision to have my chocolate boy ( heathy 13 year old ) to rest as the operation would have been very hard on him and the possible cancer if removed could have spread . I just can’t fault any soul I met that horrible morning. Karen and team thank you. Mark Read Less

Two weeks ago my 13 year old dog collapsed. Being a Sunday my normal vet was closed and so I took her to the Stafford emergency vet. The female vet I saw was appallingly offhand and delivered the traumatic diagnosis, splenal bleed, dispassionately and without any indication that the news left me reeling. I had to euthanize her with no time to absorb the news and without a backwards glance the vet disappeared. I was in complete shock and my son, whom I had had to contact because I was unable to lift a 30 kg dog, had to complete the forms. The only person who seemed in the least sympathetic was the receptionist. I have made a complaint but am still traumatized by the whole situation. I have had to euthanize animals previously and have never been treated so insensitively. Read Less

I though that people chose to work with animals beciuse they care for them. Not at this place! Must be something very wrong in the way this place is managed to get such a blunt team. Examing animals in the most cold and agresive way. The vet nurses couldn't even say hi, G-d forbid smile or show some basic human empty. The vet was just as cold and unkind to the cat as the nurse, yet pretty focused on ordering unnecessary imiging and labs we had to pay for at the end We had to waite over an hour for the vet to join us in the examination room. While on the other side of the back door of our room, a group of employees had a mini party. Telling stories and laughing out loud the entire time we were there - about hour and a half . Makes you wonder, who looks after the admitted animals, when all of this going on? Horrible place with bad vibe and care. Will never take any living creature back to that place again. Read Less

Where do I start with this place.. I felt a little at ease with first vet Hannah, although she lacked sympathy of any kind. Then my dog got shifted to another vet the next day Bree who was much much better and seemed caring, although had clearly pulled a random quote from no where. My dog was hopefully going to be coming home after one night but I wait 2 hours for a courtesy follow up call and every time I phoned I got someone different who had no clue about my dog. Finally picked her up and the vet did not even come and speak to me before discharging, I had to insist on speaking to her to get taken seriously. Then came the final bill, this figure magically rose to over a thousand dollars when I questioned it they realised they had charged me an extra night (fancy that) that made it come down a little bit (which they believed they were doing it as a favour). The bill was still more than what vet Bree had quoted me on the phone to continue with treatment. Who knows with this guys! I think they just pull random numbers to charge their customers but I’m not having it! I’m sure I will get a harassing phone call to pay the remainder but I think I’ve already paid more than what the service was worth. To top it off they made up a random date of birth for my dog which I had not written anywhere... really unprofessional guys. Read Less

Held up because they couldn’t find a small torch to get a good look at my little cats eyes. Vet wasn’t sure and needed a second opinion, after I told her exactly what it was.....turned out it was exactly what I told her it would be. My bank stuffed up my CC payment and couldn’t fix it over the weekend, so I was unable to fix up the cost of the appointment. So instead of just letting me leave my licence and even my CC, I was sent home without medication that my cat needed for her inflammation in her 3rd eyelid. Apparently, they have no concern for the welfare of animals, just their wallet. I hope they never have children sent away from hospital cause they don’t have the money upfront, due to no fault of their own. Of course I’ll pay my bill, but I won’t be bringing my fur babies back here. Should have gone to Chemist Warehouse and bought some eye ointment....wouldn’t have cost me $300! Read Less

In an ideal world pets would get sick in the business hours of their usual vet. Actually, ideally they'd never get sick at all. But Murphy is a bugger and you can bet your bottom dollar they're going to get sick on a Saturday afternoon when it's a visit to the after hours vet.Thankfully, Pet Emergency operates out of Queensland Vets at Stafford Heights and before midnight charge a lower fee for after hour consults. Very pricey place for a bunch of vets who stand around doing testing all day. The point of taking tests is to find the problem and rule out what could be.Unfortunately the vets here are not about the doing all they can for your pet but rather what they can do as a business. They will go the latter because it's, and I quote,  "worthless"  as our dog's doctor, Phillip Thomas, so nonchalantly expressed in a conclusion meeting about our beloved dog, Bentley, who passed away. We still do not know what the cause of her death was and we have no answers. However, we did manage to be invoiced a nice hefty bill.Their staff are not properly trained and don't have very good phone manner especially when communication is their way of conveying the updates of your pets conditions. Not to mention the staff there know absolutely nothing and never have an answer and aren't to enthusiastic in finding out. A loss is a loss, pets are no less worthy than a human life and animals become a part of peoples lives and journeys. This clinic is insufficient in their work, their research and their communication. If you do take your pet here - don't believe everything they tell you and get a second opinion. Read Less

I took Willow here one night after finding a huge hole in her chest.  It was just a burst abcess and it wasn't a big deal.  If you have an animal friend, you know that even the smallest thing can seem like a huge deal.We had a little bit of a wait before being seen.  It meant we went from being before 12am, to after, which upped the price a fair bit (just something to consider if you're on a tight budget).  The vet we saw was patient and helpful. While it is pricey, they are open 24/7 and the prices reflect that.  I'm just glad that they were there for me when I had an emergency so late at night.
