Took 17 week old male pup for desexing. Vet was very rough with health check, which was done on same morning as surgery. Said he had a problem with his ears and extra for him to investigate while in surgery. Despite pup not presenting with any symptoms, I agreed, what do I know, I'm not a vet. Upon pick up, surprise nothing wrong with ears! I had to ask whether or not I needed to come back for check up, was told no, dissolving stitches and surgical glue. Cone that was on him had his hair tied up in it, pulling on his neck. Cone keeps "popping" undone, so used sticky tape. Next morning, I noticed pup can still lick his wound with cone on. Tried all morning to contact clinic, but no answer. Only info I was given was leaflet from main management company, about pain management, but pup wasn't prescribed any. No info on how long to keep cone on at all.
Pup is doing really well, despite lack of information from surgery, but I think this surgery is so routine for them, they've forgotten that for pet owners it's new. Due to what appears local lack of caring from vet and staff, I couldn't recommend them. They also charge considerably higher than other local vets, but are one of only a few who will do early age desexing. Read Less
