this is a general review. it is ridiculous that any vet can refuse medication which is on a repeat basis, without consult. taking a pet to a vet every 6 months isnt possible for many people. when it is for an expensive life sustaining medication, that a pet may have been on for months or years prior, insisting a vet consult is just money grabbing, and all the vets do it. even humans dont have to be subject to that. IF, perhaps, the drug was a dangerous schedule, then that would be fair, but when it is not, this sort of ridiculous impost just stains the profession and exhibits how out of touch the discipline is. I am aware of more than one case where animals have died due to the owner not being able to afford the visit, and it has to stop! Read Less

I have 2 pets who are at Harbourside Vet Care regularly, they have been misdiagnosed by multiple vets multiple times, while still charging me a premium service. I've recently removed all 3 pets & have taken them to another vet service. The customer service on the front counter is appalling, with poor communication skills & attitude.
I was instructed by one vet to admit my cat for the day to receive care & IV treatment, specifically at the time of 8am. I was turned away at 8am & told to come in at 9am as that is when the vet arrives. I dropped the cat off at 8:30am after a second call to the lady on the front counter, who strictly informed me that is was essential I have my phone on me all day for when the vet would call me after having a look at the cat. 3 hours passed & not a call from the vet, I made a call to reception & received a below average response of 'the vet has had a look at him & he isn't on IV'. I asked again for the vet to contact me with feedback. An hour had passed & still no phone call. My husband picked up the cat from the care of the Vet straight away. We were then informed by phone call that our cat could have a fatal medical condition, which the Vet had known about during the check up but couldn't find the time to contact us to inform us. The cat was taken straight away to another vet, where he received X-rays & an ultrasound & confirmation that this fatal medical condition is non existent, all he needs is an IV for a day & he will be fine. This is one of a few bad experiences, but this is the one that confirmed to me that this is not a place I want to bring my pets for vet care. Read Less
