While camping in Finnis we caught our Maltese named Alvin with a rat bait in his mouth thankfully he hadn’t eaten any he was just carrying it. Googled these guys and gave them a call they got us in and worked on Alvin right away. They were up front about costs and explained all treatment options available. We found all the staff compassionate and empathetic, while waiting for Alvin few other emergencies came in and they were on it quickly, calmly and in a supportive way for the owners. Highly recommend this Vet Hospital, if we lived in the area we’d probably become regulars but we live in Port Adelaide. Read Less

It’s very important to me that my dog likes his vet and Harry loves everyone here. Dr Hutt also cared about my feelings during a hard time and assured me it would be ok and it was, don’t ever change Phil. I would highly recommend these vets to anyone that loves their animals. Had to visit in an emergency situation - the staff could not have been more helpful and caring. Explained everything that was going to happen very well and gave a written quote on all treatment recommended before we gave the go ahead. My dog needed to be admitted overnight but we received a couple of phone calls while she was there giving us updates on how she was doing. Happy to discuss our options and go along with our choices. I cannot commend Southern Animal Hospital enough at their care and consideration with all issues we have had with our animals. Whether we take in a chicken or a dog they care for always care for them to very high standards. Their empathy with what animal owners are going through when they have a sick animal is second to none. We had to have a very special bunny rabbit put down a little while ago. It was a very distressing thing especially for my partner and children. However even my tough exterior broke down when I received a lovely sympathy card from the vet a day or two later, been sent in the post, handwritten and all, offering their condolences on the difficult decision we had to make and the passing of our rabbit. Their staff show levels of compassion above all other veterinarians I have visited, they know our pet is a part of our family and treat them as such. They also have extended open hours(only close on Xmas Day) and are GREAT in emergencies! My neighbour says the one at Hackham is cheaper but it is not too expensive here and the care they provide is fantastic. I don't want to take the risk of changing just to save a few dollars. Read Less

Read Less
