A fantastic 24 hour emergency vet. I've had to take my dog here out of hours twice. They are friendly, efficient and provide high quality care.

Arrive for the second appointment of the day. Door is locked and the lady at the front counter made no effort to buzz me in. Stood there for a minute before a set of clients already waiting let me in while the receptionist just sat there. Once inside I was not greeted or acknowledged. The receptionist dealt with the customers infront of me first which is fine but then disappeared without any acknowledgement or asking who I was. 5 minutes go by and nothing, 10 minutes go by and I get up to ring the door bell to seek assistance as my appointment time was coming near. Someone finally comes out, doesnt greet me and stares blankly at me. I annouce who I am and ask if there are any forms that I need to fill in to which the reply I got was, oh yeah I guess. My appointment time arrives and the vet comes to get us. We go into the room and the vet starts rambling on about the last time he saw my dog. I stopped him in his tracks and said, sorry you have us mixed up with somone else. No apologies he just tells us to get out and go back into the waiting room. The people meant to be before my appointment finally arrive and now I am left waiting over 20 minutes past my original appointment time. Finally we are in the consult room. The vet was insightful enough but kept fidgeting and was scared of my dog which in turn made my dog more anxious. I had to order medication for my dog which had to be made and was given a sample and told to email the vet direct once I had finished the sample does he gave me. 5 emails (which were never responded to) and 1 phone call later and they were finally ordered. I was advised that they would call me when the drops came in. 3 weeks on and had not recieved a call. Follow up and told that they have been sitting there for 2 weeks. When I question them as to why I wasnt notified they just blamed the vet for being on holiday as to why I was notified........I enquired as to the price of the medication before picking it up and then when I go to pay for it, it was more expensive as they did not mention about the compounding fee. This whole experience cost me over $500. Am not happy with lack of service and lack of experience from this practice and will not be back. Read Less

The vet services themselves are good, but their administrative staff are absolutely useless. Trying to get an insurance form signed and returned from them can take weeks, multiple broken promises, and excuses. They will insist on being paid in full at the time (which is fine), but trying to recoup some of the (very overpriced) services from your insurance is held up by them. Other vets will take a few hours or couple of days (at most) to signed and return this form. I, am many members of my family have had the exact same experience with them. Read Less

Unfortunately not a good experience. My previous dog referred for an mri. She was booked in and i was to pick her up at 5pm. Which I did. She was very thirsty and I doubted she had being given fluids as advised. Later that night I was rang to say she should not have been discharged as they had so many emergencies they had not seen her, was asked to being her in the next day. I questioned if she had been given fluids, it was my experience on being given them she would not be so thirsty. (One of her symptons). I was told she had. I was charged my deposit $1000. For this. Despite being told the symptons had been going on for two years (believe me I had been taking her to to the vets, blood tests etc., with nothing found, during this time) he decided she had rat poisioning. Another two days of a very distressed dog and vit, K being given, meanwhile deteriorating badly, distressed. Etc. I finally insisted the MRI be given that she had originally been booked in for, that was then it was found she had cancer of the spleen which had spread. My dog had deteriorated from being reasonably healthy (as the vet put it on first visit), to being distressed, very poor and having to be put down immediately. Needless to say, was a very expensive negative experience, and one I hope to never repeat. Over $3000. From memory. They were very busy with accidents and emergencies that they did not have time to properly treat my dog. Read Less

I almost lost my dog a couple of months ago because of what appeared to me to be incompetence, her hip was dislocated whilst in their care overnight following a TPLO due to a cruciate rupture. In my opinion this occurred due to their failure to give her adequate sedation and pain relief and as a consequence she dislocated her hip moving around. The vet who performed the operation, then had to relocate her hip, could not explain why this occurred. Due to the tight hip sling required to stop her hip dislocating again, she developed a necrotic skin wound which could have killed her, and needed the wound removed surgically. Ultimately she also needed a femoral head ostectomy due to ongoing hip dislocations, because due to the necrotic wound repair she couldn't continue to wear a hip sling. As a result of the extra surgical interventions she hasn't been able to undertake much rehab of the knee joint and doesn't consistently weight bear on it. Now she can't walk properly and is not much better off than prior to the TPLO, and it's cost me at least that much again to get her back to having quality of life. Not once did the vet or their staff enquire or check on the status of my dog, it was like they just didn't want to know about it once she was out of there. Thankfully my regular vet was able to successfully treat my dog but I came very close to losing her, and it cost me thousands of dollars which has put me under huge financial stress long term. I would not trust them with my animals again, after watching my beloved dog suffering greatly and ending up being out of pocket many thousands of dollars. In my experience they do not appear to have your pets best interests at heart, and are only interested in collecting your money. Read Less

I was referred here after I was unable to get my chicken seen anywhere else. They insisted she be taken from me and placed in a heated brooder immediately in a separate area where I could not be with her. The vet said she had minimal experience with birds and would be relying on attempting to contact another vet with no guarantee the second vet would be available via phone. I was then told she would be kept overnight possibly at the expense of up to $1400 and I was heavily pushed to sign up for a payment plan. I do not know if a proper examination was done on my animal because she was not in my sight the entire time I was there. I was pushed heavily several times to sign the hugely expensive waiver (that was at least 5-7 times what I've had a hen in for an overnight stay at other vets), including with guilt of didn't I want to get her help? I went with my gut instinct and insisted my hen be brought back out and I sought phone advice with the a/h service my usual vet provides. My hen came back from the other room extremely hot and panting in obvious distress. This vet clearly is only interested in money, not in the care of animals. This whole ordeal still cost me the "consultation fee" despite being told nothing about the condition of my animal that I didn't tell the vet myself on presentation to the surgery!!! Read Less

I had such a negative experience with this service. That he was 40 mins late despite being the only appointment and thinking i was there for respitory issues and not having any notes from my vet or the emergency vet on anzac hwy that have treated her 3 times already for the complaint was concerning. He beligerantly refused to endoscope my dog for her significant dribbling episodes that occur pretty randomly and the most recent episode only 2 days prior to the appointment, but wanted to treat her for a suspected hernia without any test or diagnosis and despite my dog not exhibiting any of the symptoms didn't persuade them it might be something other than a hernia. I enquired what would be the next process would be if it was discovered she didn't have a hernia and was met with silence. His only suggestion other than a hernia was blood gas work for an obscure chance of liver disease, again without demonstrating any symptoms. I wouldn't recomend the specialist referral service to anyone. Read Less
