Great service, managed to fit Jax the sick staffy in within a couple of hours and then laughed with us when he was excitable before his appointment. First visit with new owners was great..2nd visit male vet didn't like what he was seeing and still sent our pregnant dog home and she ended up with only one puppy out of four. If only he did the cesarean as he suggested instead of telling us to wait untill next day. I hope my next visit will be better.. Read Less

The whole Team Drs & Nurses and Front counter Staff at Paralowie vets are Fantastic.. them all xxx. We have used many of the Drs here and all are great at there job and we see them from time to time. But Our family(zoo) prefers christo only because we have a wide range of animal's that he has a specialty with they all really care for your animal not just big dollar price tags like some.money hungry vets..My girls love the sneaky treats and kisses and pats from them all...Many operations or procedures have been done for our family members and after care is fantastic..I recently had to let my darling Mia go to the Rainbow bridge(stage 4 cancer) and the whole Team..Christo & nursing staff were amazing they understood the decisions we had to make and the heart breaking pain of loosing our beloved family member..Afterwards they gave me the option to pay the account in the room instead of walking out the front and being seen a mess which i really appreciated..We know that they have our pets best intrests at heart..highly recommended.. Extremely disappointed in the 'communication' process of taking my Gineua Pig to get desexed at this clinic and sadly due to post-op complications of having excess fluid in his lung and hyperventilating during his 'recovery phase' with being 3 days on antibiotics, medications and prefilled syringe fed - he had passed away 3 days post surgery. No closure as to what happened after surgery and when I asked the veterinarian if my gineua pig was in this state during recovery before sending him home as I wanted to know if it could have been prevented and she had said, 'she wasn't on but she'd have to find out from the staff on yesterday'. Anyway, my point of this post is I recommended not to get your gineua pig desexed as unfortunately being one of the unlucky ones mine did not make it after surgery. I am very upset and grieving with regret as I should of never took him to get desexed in the first place. However, thank you to the kind nurses involved of his care when bringing him in everyday.Read Less

Thank you to the Paralowie Vet and all it's staff, especially Jenny (sorry if I got her name wrong) for the thoughtful card I received today. My 17yr old Red Burmese, Figaro, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, on the morning of his appt, and the receptionist went above and beyond to give me the correct numbers I needed to ring to have him cremated. Your vet clinic had the up most respect and kind and caring staff while caring for Figaro in his final weeks... doing anything and everything you could, to make him comfortable. It was time for him to cross rainbow bridge, it doesn't make it any easier but it's a shining light to have a clinic that cares so much. This has been our Vet clinic since 2004. The staff are fantastic, obviously a great place to work as some of the staff have been there for several years. I am happy for my animals to see any of the Doctors, they are all very knowledgeable. They do a great job with surgeries, one of my dogs is terrible for slicing herself open on her feet and face so she has been stitched and stapled many times by these guys. Prices are very reasonable. On the odd occasion where I've had to go elsewhere due to emergencies, I've had to pay about 3x more than what Paralowie Vet would have charged - even without the emergency charges. The staff are very compassionate. When we had to put my cat to sleep, they booked us in for the last appointment of the day so we'd have heaps of time - the whole sad event was handled very well. They have sent us sympathy cards signed by all the staff when our cat and one of our dogs died, that was very kind and thoughtful of them. Couldn't recommend them enough. *Also wanted to add that due to frequent travel we have someone look after our animals. They are happy for my friend to bring the dogs in for consults and emergencies when needed, and have been happy for me to pay over the phone which I always try to do no later than the next day. Dr Jonathan Wysoke has treated our pet rats with care and respect every time we've visited him. Today he performed a surgery, and walked us through all the steps and provided us with answers to every question we could throw at him. In my view, he is a truly great veterinarian and a credit to his profession. In addition, each of the staff at Paralowie Veterinary Surgery provide a welcoming persona that helps to put those horrible nerves at rest. I would, of course, be remiss to not mention the "practice manager", Flynn, the most placid cat you'll ever meet who will soak up your love and affection for as long as you can give it. It's the extra small things that set this surgery apart and make it an excellent choice for your pet care needs, and it's well worth our long drive to get there.Read Less

Our 12 year old blue heeler went in for emergency surgery today to remove what turned out to be a cancer in her eye. Everyone I spoke to was professional and caring which made a difficult day a little bit easier. The price was given to me up front and included all meds and follow up consults. My mother has been a customer for about 25 years. Surgery got new owner a year or so ago. My dog got sick. Emergency Care was excellent. Staff are wonderful. But i was waiting for my son to send me money from overseas to pay the bill. That would've taken about 5 days. I was given forms to fill in to apply for external finance (with exorbitant interest rates) to pay the bill, and told to come back next day with the money or the signed forms. I had to come back to get the medicine they with-held but my mum and I have always paid for treatment on time anyway. I read up on the vet bill finance website and they would not pay the vet for 7 days. So the vet could have waited for the funds from the UK. A friend put the bill on her credit next day card until the international transfer came through. I have changed vets. The new one will do a payment plan without external finance in desperate cases and when they know the person. Usually I have the funds but at that day I did not. Read Less

Dr Christo is not only a fantastic vet but also a very caring person. He helped my beautiful staffy overcome mange when he was born with it. He was so helpful. Recently I had to take my Galah George to him so he could have a fatty tumor removed from his belly, he done an amazing job and now you wouldn't never know he used to have one, looking at him.
