Found a stray kitten, rang up to see if they could scan for a microchip and give an estimation on age and if there was any cost or other conditions. They said definitely bring it in, no cost and no obligations, so I did. They said no chip and about 6 weeks. Then- they weren't going to let me leave with it! I said that I haven't decided what I'm doing with it yet, I was planning on door knocking to see who it could have belonged to and posting found adds then maybe keeping it. They said that was their protocol. I stood my ground and had to speak with multiple people and really fight to leave with the kitten! Unbelievable. Never again.

Our family Pets have been cared for by The wonderful staff at the Hobart animal hospital for many many years. We first "met" Dr Geoff Deans over our Boat phone when one of our dogs became ill whilst we were cruising. He was fantastic that day, putting us all at ease, and his care & compassion has remained a constant for us & our "Critters". In recent times we've had to deal with illness & sadly the loss of our beloved cat, Fergus, and a short time later our dog Maggie. Along with Geoff, Dr Lee Coynes was with us every step of the way, always available with sound advice, a genuinely caring nature and a collaborative approach. The team are just wonderful, highly professional, and most of all their love and passion for what they do, extends their care & support to the whole family. I wouldn't go anywhere else

I thought my dog Nala, a rhodesian ridgeback had broken her foot as she was in pain and drooling, pushing me to let me know her pain,panting hard and scaring me to death!!! after running in a park, Dr Geoff is so amazing, he figured it was bee stings very quickly, administered antihistamine and dexason, via injection, he helped me get my big vet shy girl through the door, and i just have such admiration for this man, he has seen me through some awful times with aged pets,injured pets, phantom pregnancies in our other female ridgeback.....Thank you Dr Geoff for professional,care done with sensitivity, your appreciated..

Took a sick kitten there last night and she passed away today because they did not care enough to keep her there on an IV for dehydration. This is the second time this happened to a kitten I took there, it will definitely be the last time. They only care for the bottom line not the animals.

We took our Akita, Sumo, in after he'd been bitten by a snake yesterday. The whole team was absolutely brilliant. The situation was very stressful for Sumo, and for us, but the staff did everything possible to help poor Sumo and us. Less than 24 hours after we went in, Sumo is home, he's in good shape, he's eating, resting and drinking. Couldn't have asked for anything more - THANK YOU!!

Found a stray kitten, rang up to see if they could scan for a microchip and give an estimation on age and if there was any cost or other conditions. They said definitely bring it in, no cost and no obligations, so I did. They said no chip and about 6 weeks. Then- they weren't going to let me leave with it! I said that I haven't decided what I'm doing with it yet, I was planning on door knocking to see who it could have belonged to and posting found adds then maybe keeping it. Our family Pets have been cared for by The wonderful staff at the Hobart animal hospital for many many years. We first "met" Dr Geoff Deans over our Boat phone when one of our dogs became ill whilst we were cruising. Took a sick kitten there last night and she passed away today because they did not care enough to keep her there on an IV for dehydration. This is the second time this happened to a kitten I took there, it will definitely be the last time. They only care for the bottom line not the animals.

We took our Akita, Sumo, in after he'd been bitten by a snake yesterday. The whole team was absolutely brilliant. The situation was very stressful for Sumo, and for us, but the staff did everything possible to help poor Sumo and us. Less than 24 hours after we went in, Sumo is home, he's in good shape, he's eating, resting and drinking. Couldn't have asked for anything more - THANK YOU!!
