I recently attended the Animal Medical Centre. They are not my usual veterinary clinic, however, because of the prompt diagnoses that was given and the follow up care provided they are now my preferred clinic. The vet diagnosed my dog as suffering from heart disease straight away. I believe the prompt diagnoses and appropriate treatment has prolonged my dogs life, for which I am very grateful. The vet was very caring and compassionate which goes a long way when someone is distressed. Thankyou! Read Less

I never recommend Animal Medical Centre (AMC), Launceston to anyone in a serious cases. My cat got sick on 6th December 2017, we took him to AMC when we noticed that he had a breathing issue. We did not know what the reason was and still we do not know what caused him to die on 26th December 2017. We lost him in a very short time, during that process they could not diagnose the sickness despite of X-rays and blood tests. The vet asked for ultrasound, and some other tests. Since we lost our confidence on the vet, I asked them to email me X-Rays and blood results which took almost 10 days to send it to consult with another vet. As soon as I received it on 21st December, I talked to another overseas vet and he informed me about the situation which could be serious. We planned to take him another hospital after Boxing Day. However, his breathing worsen on 26th December, I called emergency of AMC and we took him there. He died shouting and screaming in our hands (the vet was in other room to get ready for oxygen although I informed on the phone that he was having breathing issue, nothing was ready when we arrived). I wished to know more about this place, vets and many other things to avoid losing him. After he died, I thought all the process happened in 20 days and blamed myself since I brought him there. I really do not want any other pets to end up like this, that’s why I wrote all story from beginning. Read Less

My husband and I recently went to look at a puppy from a local breeder. Unfortunately upon arrival we realized that this puppy was malnourished, later discovered fleas, and a bloated belly. I had called a few vets, and explained my situation. I got various answers from each. Upon arrival at Animal Medical Centre, I was nervous about receiving odd stares, or judgemental looks for having a puppy that was showing just about every bone in his body. Nothing of the sort ever came. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. When we went to the room, the vet was extremely kind and understanding. She explained everything, in terms i understood. I appreciated that. We discussed our future plans and I was very happy about the direction we were going. Once we were getting ready to leave our sweet puppy was cuddled so much it made my heart explode! He loves the food they sent home with us. We wish to thank the team at Animal Medical Centre, particularly Marion and Bridgette who attended our home on Tuesday to put our dearly loved "Monty" to sleep. The care and compassion both ladies shown to the family was remarkable and even though the decision was heart-wrenching, we couldn't have asked for better care and support. They made the experience bearable by arranging for Monty's cremation and even when collecting his ashes today from Bridgette, I felt as though she genuinely cared about us and our 7 month old pup who is missing his best friend.
