I recently took my dog to this vet. My dog had a skin tumour between his toe. The vet told me that the surgery was complicated due to the location and quoted me 1,300$. I was told by another friend to get a second opinion because they felt it was a bit steep. I took my dog to another vet and we had it removed on the same day for 300$. This included the aenesthtic, surgery, post surgery care and medication. I don’t mind paying vet bills for my pet. My dog is the love of our lives and I would do anything for him. However not everyone has the luxury of being able to afford a vet bill such as that. I am annoyed by this because when I think of an elderly pensioner or young person being quoted a huge amount to care for their pet, at that point they may make a decision that puts off getting care or resigning themselves to their pet getting sick because they can’t afford care. This negatively impacts on that animals welfare and right to have an appropriate quote for their care needs. People want to care for their pets and they want to feel safe going to a professional for good advice. I will not be going back to this vet. I don’t want to be mean but I feel it’s important to say because this type of issue can have an impact on an animal getting proper care and people feeling as though they can access medical treatment for their pet. Do not trust this vet for advising surgery on your dog. Get a second opinion - I did. My dog recently had surgery at this vet, from which caused a skin infection from the catheter - this can happen and that's ok. However, when I took my girl back to have it checked by the surgeon, who defensively said it was a brand new injury and had nothing to do with surgery. It looked like an giant ulcer, not a gash. He advised that they would need additional surgery at $600. He didn't treat her, provide any antibiotics and told me I was wrong. I'm no vet but I'm no fool either. I got a second opinion. THANK GOD I DID. It was a skin infection treatable with antibiotics and a cleaning agent and my dog is now recovery well. My new vet advised me that surgery on an infected area could cause an even greater infection. Unbelievable. Read Less

We are new clients to ERVC and couldn't be happier. The nursing staff were fabulous and Dr Noel went above and beyond - we had our kitten desexed - which he recovered extremely well from and then a week later we had an after hours emergency situation with our kitten. Dr. Noel is an AMAZING vet. I got a shih tzu puppy a couple of months ago and wanted to bring him back to New York with me. I wasn't sure of how the whole process worked and when I checked online it all seemed really complicated but he's actually a qualified travel vet, meaning he knows all about the vaccines your pet should have prior to leaving Aus, and all about the paperwork process. So he helped me with that. But, he also removed my puppy's umbilical hernia, and he neutered him. I paid a little more than having gone right across the street to Lort Smith hospital, but I don't regret it, Dr. Noel took his time and explained the pre and post-op procedure to me carefully and calmly. I never felt rushed and he just has so much patience and always well-informed me of everything I needed to know to properly care for my puppy from food to behavior training tips, to traveling tips. Dr. Noel I don't know if you're reading this but Bruno made it to New York (cabin-style) with me:) He was well relaxed the whole time (flight attendant even served him food- he ate on the table...believe that :)), and actually relieved himself on his wee wee pad. Thank you for your time, knowledge, and patience! We couldn't have done it without you!~Jackie Celi Read Less
