I have been taking my two dogs to Ann for nearly 5 years and my last experience with her is why I'm leaving one star and have found an alternative vet. My dog was healthy then ate we believe rat poison and declined quickly. After taking her to Ann there was little to no sense of urgency and she never even mentioned ratsak, she felt it was something more unusual. She was "too busy" to even properly check on my dog throughout the day in observation and told us so when we came back to collect her. She also told us that she didn't think she even was taken out to the toilet that's how busy they were, she was there for 7 hours. Less than 5 hours later she was dying. Ended up at the AEC emergency vet to save her life. On the 24 hr after discharge consult with Ann we were met with an arrogant attitude from her. She became offended when we asked questions about what happened and what would be the next treatment. She didn't even look over my dog when we came in and started to belittle the work of the emergency vets. We had to ask for a blood test! She didn't even read the discharge notes and said "I skimmed them, it was quite large". You will always leave this clinic with more questions than answers and heaven forbid you have an emergency with your healthy pet. I would not recommend this as an everyday vet now that there are no other vets at her practice the whole place has gone down hill. The clinic is dirty and the front reception staff are not experienced enough and always need to refer to Ann for anything. She left the consult door open to get us out quickly and rudely announced that she had to go "because I have three VERY sick dogs to attend to" implying that my dog was not as sick and was wasting her time. We felt after trusting her with out dogs for years she would be more empathetic or proactive about what happened but said to us that she "wouldn't hate us for going to another vet". Anne Nevill is a top vet. She picked up that my dog had a growth in his mouth when I had actually come for another minor matter. She told me to wait for a month to see if it would subside but I was too anxious so she said we could take out the growth and biopsy it. I was so grateful. She really understood my needs as well as my puppy. Today the procedure was done and my dog is fine. We have to wait for the biopsy result but I am confident that I am in good hands. Anne Nevill has been great with other matters too. The previous time I had been to another vet who told me my dog had cancer and needed his anal glands removed. I came to Anne for a second opinion and it turned out that my dog had an infected anal gland and she lanced it and gave him antibiotics and he was fine. NO cancer. How about that... So I cant praise her enough. She certainly knows her stuff and is a pleasure to deal with and a life saver.... The staff too are lovely and the whole environment is friendly and relaxed. ANN NEVILL FROM EAST WEST VETS HANDED ME A SHARP PAIR OF SCISSORS AND ASKED ME TO POINT TO MY DOGS EYE! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS GO ELSEWHERE! After reading all the reviews I booked my dog in so they could help with her allergy problem. However after waiting 30 minutes my dog was punched in the eye by a cat in their waiting room, her eye turned opaque. I notified the front desk and asked that they attend to her immediately. Ann Nevill refused stating she was too busy. I demanded they see her so she wouldn't turn blind and after 10 minutes they agreed. I was asked to come into a side room and informed by the nurse that they are not liable for this incident. Cleary the nurse was coached by Ann Nevill, I was shocked as it hadn't even crossed my mind my concern was for my pet. While examining her Ann was present with a nurse, Anne Nevill looked through a huge magnifying glass claiming she cannot see any opaque dot in my dogs eye, she used a hand held magnifying glass too, then put her glasses on and still claimed she couldn't see anything wrong. She then asked me to draw the dot on a piece of paper, yet claiming she still couldn't see it. I asked the nurse can you see it? "Yes" the nurse replied the nurse even told Ann its visible to the human eye. I could see the damage and so could the nurse but it took me a while to realise Ann Nevill had no intention of admitting to the damage that was done in her clinic. She then put a pair of scissors in my hand and asked me to point to my dogs eye so she could see the opaque dot. I refused saying I wouldn't point with a pair of scissors her response was they are not sharp! Indeed they were sharp! ANN NEVILL CARES ABOUT PROFIT FIRST AND CLEARLY CANNOT THINK UNDER PRESSURE YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF ANN NEVILL MY DOG IS NOW BLIND IN ONE EYE YOU HAVE A DUTY OF CARE, YOUR TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! Took my dog there after having an ear infection for 12 months that 2 different vets couldn't previously fix or help with, plus spending at least $1000 to no help help at all. Saw Ann and Penny and within 4 consultations in 6 weeks with some herbs, supplements and taking him off foods we found out he's allergic too his ear is like brand new again. Not only that, but his fear of vets is now gone, he even gave Ann a hug today, which he hasn't done since our vet when we were in L...ondon. Great practice, kind a caring staff who take the time to build trust with the animals, plus the practice dogs Floyd and Stanley help make it more comfortable for the dogs. Chaos, chaos and more chaos. Such a disorganised crazy practice!!! Had acupuncture done here for my dog and the vet was running late then put the needles in and sent someone else to take them out who wasn't exactly sure where the needles were and my daughter had to point out she had missed some!! After the consultation trying to just sell more and more medication, and told me that my dog should have been operated on previously but is telling me so I know for my next dog as my dog at the moment is too old. Was going here for years and in the beginning it was great - but as they've got more popular and busy over time, the service has become worse and worse and now the people are just so rude every time you call or interact with them at the counter - its as though everything is too hard. I mentioned this to Ann several years ago - but it never changed, they're all grumpy. You can also wait 45mins - 1hr in the waiting room after having an actual scheduled appointment and not get one apology for the hold up which is rude - not to mention due to the place becoming too busy things started to slip and consults weren't as thorough - like giving my dog the wrong vaccination. One day they were booked in for surgery, and I had a call 1hr after dropping the dog off asking me exactly what they were here for - not good enough. Shame, because at the start is was really great. I would highly recommend Anne and the lovely team at East West Vet. I brought my 4 year old cat Mantou in with kidney failure having been told by other vets that there was nothing that could be done for him. They accepted the challenge and treated him over the next few months never once giving up. Even when he wasn't responding to treatments well and I thought that it was all over, Anne persisted looking for other methods. It's been 6 months since the whole ordeal and Mantou is healthy and happy as ever. We are so grateful for all their help and support and for saving Mantou's life! Read Less

Anne and the staff at East West are IMHO the best veterinary practice in Australia... we moved away from the area but still do the 2 hour round trip just so we can see her & her team. Anne has this magical ability to put you and more importantly your pet at ease; her knowledge is extensive and the way she combines both Western and Eastern practices is a delight. Found Ann and her team after a lot of searching and a referral from another holistic vet and am so glad we did. I travel over an hour to get there and it is worth every second. 8 months ago we (Bodhi and Valli - rescue Whippets) welcomed an 11 year old part Whippet - Leilo - into our family, a rescue from the Lost Dogs Home through Whippet Rescue. Leilo had multiple health issues - thyroid and cushings, as well as the effects of a pretty hard and neglected life. After some fairly pedestrian advice from my regular (not now) vet, Ann has turned this little lady's life around - in fact all of us. My Burmese cat has been chronically constipated for many,many years. He has been on daily medication and the occasional enema but that has not stopped him becoming impacted and requiring 3 hospital stays, sedation/general anesthetics, Xrays, IV fluids not to mention how uncomfortable he must have been for a long time. Certainly been costing me a fortune. A friend told me about Eastwest Vet clinic and I was getting desperate as my vet told me he didn't know what else to do for him. Archie saw Anne 4 days ago. Started him on inexpensive Chinese medicine and he has been opening his bowels so well. Soft,well formed and he is a different cat. Very happy, purring,eating, demanding cuddles again. Ann and the staff are wonderful, you feel very well looked after and your pets are treated with the utmost love and care. This is no ordinary veterinary clinic, you feel like part of their family. I carried my 12year old Bulldog into East West Vet Group, thinking this was the end of this life our lovely dog. Ann and the team worked what I can only describe as a miracle. Within a couple of weeks and treatments our bulldog is running around like a puppy. Something she hasn't done since she was a puppy. We now take her there for regular acupuncture treatments and swapped her food over to Ann's special mix. My 8 year old golden retriever had been acting very strangely, running out of the kitchen when I came in and sitting out in the rain. Upon examination it was discovered that she had a lump in her throat and her blood pressure was highly elevated. Ann did a biopsy and it was found to be a very nasty thyroid cancer tumour. The choice was radiotherapy or nutraceuticals which include things like vitamin c, almond kernels, lecithin and mushroom complex. Ely has been on this medication for about a month and is a different dog!!! She smiles nearly all the time, plays with other dogs and always find the youngest child in the park to give her ball to with the hope that they will throw it.
