I’m in disbelief how I was spoken to over the phone today by a vet named Jordie Botten. The utter miscommunication in this clinic is mind blowing. I have been sent in circles having to repeat that we are in isolation time and time again. My dog needed a refill of a script sent to a pharmacy as he is on this medication for life. She couldn’t grasp that fact that this clinic had advised us to go to an eye specialist for him and that they can not review his case because the vets there are not experienced with his eye condition. She kept trying to tell me that we would have to take him in for a check up (for no reason) as they don’t treat the condition there anyway. I even got our eye vet to send copies through of his medication and treatment plan with their vets signature as proof that they asked for of his long term condition and instructions. The staff the day and night before were very kind and offered to help us out as a favour because I’m really sick and in isolation and my mother doesn’t drive and is out in doreen. I offered to pay a driver to pick up the medication from a pharmacy close to her (and my dogs) home so that no health rules were broken and so that my dog didn’t suffer without his medication. I chased up my dogs history and evidence that they asked for only to be told today that they will charge me $50 for writing out the script. And then also to find out that the pharmacy they supposedly spoke to didn’t have his medication in stock. When I said that it’s not very fair to charge me $50 to write a script out without making me aware and also it’s not even available for when he needs it. I was threatened to have my dogs name taken of the service list there. Bullied into paying that $50 because of all the efforts and the back and forth work I had already done for them that took 2 days, and he needed the drops. They are also incapable of re-directing the script to another pharmacy, apparently only a vet can use a fax machine and a receptionist Cant. Nothing needed to be changed on the script at all. The receptionist hung up on me when I asked if a receptionist could fax it through because the pharmacy was going to close and it had been all day of no correspondence. I have had to call back 4 times just today and they told me on the last call that they would call me when they have sent the script. 1 hour later and I decided to call the pharmacy to see if they had it. They had had the script for 2 hours. The reception staff play games, for what gain?? Are you bored or do you just hate your life, seriously how low can you go. Don’t you understand you’re playing with an animals welfare?? The very reason you chose to study to be a vet should have been to make an animal comfortable, no?? Just absolutely pathetic human beings in this place. Toby had been to bundoora most of his life. I regret it every single visit. A few months ago he was very poor and in hospital there for over a week. Instead of doing further testing or making further enquiries they spent all their time trying to convince me to put him down. All this clinic truley cares about is your money. They are not in it for the welfare of you or your pet. I sought out help at another vet and my dog has been never better. Healthy, happy dog. The true lack of care, communication, knowledge - simply mind blowing. Please, even in an emergency, if you can find another clinic. Please do so. Read Less

After leaving 3 messages requesting my call to be returned by the Practice Manager or Director so I could discuss my concerns, it is clear that they dont care enough to hear what I have to say so I'll say it on her to warn others. I had an absolute horrible experience earlier on in the week in one of the clinics that come under this organisations banner. The customer service from the receptionist and 'vet' was nothing but rude. I was horrified when I was told off for bringing both of my dogs in (when I clearly explained that this was going to be the case when the appointment was made) to being told some devastating news about my pet and being pushed out the door seconds later with a tissue box. When I asked for some paperwork so I could pass it onto another vet for further investigation, I was told I wouldnt need it and I'd just have to 'remember' what I was told. For a consult that lasted no more than 5 minutes, I was then charged and basically left feeling robbed and heartbroken. This clinic does not have a care in the world for customer service and more importantly the animals they are meant to be 'assisting' and caring for. Absolutely disgusted!!!!! I'm interested to see if anyone will be in contact with me. I will never ever recommend any of the vet clinics that are under Bundoora Veterinary Clinic and Hospital. Read Less

Have been taking our pets there for 20 years, was always a wonderful caring environment. Recent change in owners have now changed the whole atmosphere of this veterinary clinic, not to mention the standard of care. Absolutely disgusted in the conditions of which the animals are kept in. Picked our dog up from a small cage, soaked in his own urine where the towels were not changed. Clearly not taken care of. Staff were rude and unhelpful, as well as showed no sense of “duty of care” as our pet was evidently distressed and traumatised from the poor treatments whilst in their care. Could not reccomend this clinic at all to anyone. I now have a pet who is 3 days out of surgery, stressed and in poor conditions. Called to ask for assistance, with no answer from the staff as well as a negative attitude. Read Less

By far the worst experience bringing my cat here. We called to bring my cat in to be put down as she had deteriorated so much, I was completely prepared for what I thought would be a peaceful experience. The emergency vet took her to the back to put a catheter in and bring her back. He brought her back soon after, took her out of the box and put her on the table, and left to get something. In the space of 15 seconds, my cat starting freaking out, I go to calm and hold her from jumping off the table, she bites me and doesn't let go so I have to open her jaw. I run to the tap to rinse my arm and all he has to say is "yeahhh you have to hold her from the scruff of the neck" I turn back around and he has already put her down, mouth open, glassy eyed. A trip for me to the hospital for antibiotics and a tetanus shot. Not exactly how I pictured saying goodbye to my beloved cat of 11 years. I'd give no stars if possible. I will never take my animals here again. That particular vet has no regard for human emotion. Read Less

Absolutely appalling behavior by receptionist today. I went in to find out what the procedure is for found dumped kitten. I say dumped because it is full of fleas and worms. I have advertised in my areas fb site to find an owner. It is very young so I doubted whether it would have been microchipped. The woman slapped a piece of paper in front of me and told me to sign here. I asked her what the procedure is first. She stated that I need to sign to surrender the kitten. it is then given to the council to take to North Melbourne Dogs Home( well known shelter for high kill rate) The receptionist told me in a very stern way that it is illegal to leave with the kitten and i would be stealing it. How ridiculous what has the world come to when you can't take a kitten to a vet and get it cared for. I was made to feel like a criminal for simply not wanting the kitten to be euthanized. Most shelters have a high kill rate. I don't want the kitten I just want it care for. I highly doubt this kitten is someones pet due to its condition. Read Less

We only visited here the once, last weekend, when our old Border Collie had an emergency. Sadly, it was his last day. I have to thank vet Steven Debrincat and the staff for their professional service and amazing compassion - allowing us a private room and all the time we needed to say our last good bye. This place wasn't our regular vet, but it will be in the future. Excellent! And then, a few days later in the mail - well, the photo says it all. :) Read Less

Sad review, but: When our beloved family dog was getting old and sick, they kept us informed of treatment options and helped make her comfortable, then when she was too sick and the time came for her to be put to sleep, they made sure we had plenty of space to spend our last moments with her. (Even had the foresight to sort out the bill beforehand so we could focus on what mattered, rather than asking for a credit card after we'd started bawling our eyes out!). Staff were respectful and sympathetic, and genuinely seemed to care a great deal. They're a great clinic and one you keep coming back to, from new puppy to grey hairs.Read Less

On Thursday, I waited 40 minutes for the receptionist to find an email related to a script sent from another vet in Kensington. Finally they located it. Then I rang that night to see whether they could FILL the script. The lovely vet on duty said yes, it would be done and they would ring if any problems. Rocked up at the vet this afternoon only to wait another 30 minutes - and still no sign of the pills for my dog. When I asked what was going on, they said they were waiting for a vet to approve. When I asked how long, the receptionist could not tell me. I walked out and will drive to Kensington rather than deal with this administratively incept clinic. I don't mind waiting for an hour or more to see a vet without an appointment but this was a script (which had already been sent via email from another vet) to be filled for my dog. It shouldn't be this hard. Find a clinic with proper administrative processes is my recommendation. I certainly won't be taking my dogs back there. PS I always found the vets very good here but the organisational side of the house is a complete mess. Read Less

Worst thing you won't able to talk to the same doctor that you already know if they are nice. However I don't like this vet anymore. I wish to never go back here again. Prob go somewhere further with good services. Read Less

She had such attitude and couldn't be bothered taking about what was going on with my dog! She did a consult that only took 3 mins charged $160!!! Money isn't a issue for me but having such a ugly attuide makes me upset! Never will go back again. If you ever go to this place do not go see the Asian female vet! Not professional at all!!!!! They're open 24 hours which is good but I find them to be unfeeling towards native wildlife and too quick to euthanase.

Read Less
