BEWARE They diagnose animals without doing any tests. I was told my cat had heart disease and fluid on his lungs, was given medication & told to come back in 3 days - all diagnosed with only listening to his chest NO X-RAY NO BLOOD TEST. I came back 3 days later to be told that his heart disease was too far gone and that he only had 24hours to live. Well 2 days later he was still alive so we took him to Emergency where they did an X-ray straight away and found that he had a build up of pus in his chest cavity, not fluid on his lungs. Unfortunately he passed away 5 days later. We go to veterinarians because they are supposed to be the "experts" but what good is it when they don't do their job. Now I will never know if my cat would have survived if this had been found earlier. Read Less

Profit before our beloved pets . We are just a number. go on, pretend you care Used Epping vet clinic for euthanasia on my best mate Bruno (dog )who had a chronic illness. Epping vet clinic recommended I use Southern Cross Pet Services for a individual burial at a pet cemetery for Bruno . Epping vet told me they had been using Southern Cross pet services for years and they were a very good company and they also advertise at Epping vet clinic with brochures nxt to the reception. Done research and called southern cross and all seem legit at the time. So I took Epping vet advise and used southern cross pet services for a individual barial grave site for Bruno at a pet cemetery. After Bruno pass away , one month went pass and southern cross pet services still had not told me where my dog was, couldn't tell me his grave site, and just excuses.. No burial certificate, no papers,no plaque , which is all part of the contract . no nothing Took my money and disappear. After one month, I threaten to go media if I didn't have a location and see Bruno. I had to chase Epping vet clinic and southern cross pet services every day to get answers. In the end southern cross aggred to show me Bruno grave site and exhume his body for me to see. On the day I went to the pet cemetery, my dog was not showed to me, just sum dirt with chip wood on top, southern cross told me this is where my dog was resting, I moved the chip wood and there was no grave underneath.I had been scammed.. As you can imagine I was very upset and , hurt. I told Epping vet and southern cross, I want my dog back, who knows what they did with Brunos body , but regardless have him returned to me asap. Southern Cross had the nerve to ask me what breed, colour, if Bruno was chippid etc.. Which just raised for suspecious thoughts. I was told after I flipped it that day at cemetery I could pick Bruno up within nxt few days.. Two days later I get a call from Southern Cross owner telling me they had exhumed Bruno body from his grave site (b. S) and he got returned to Southern Cross pet services head office and he had been cremated by accident. The owner told me to cheer up and feel 100percent. And now Bruno was in ashes inside pretty box to return to me.. Obviously they never buried my dog, as he was not at the cemetery and this was a perfect excuse to why they couldn't return Bruno to me.. Epping vet clinic said it was horrible and disgusting what they did to me.. And they wouldn't want this To ever happen to any other customers from Epping vet clinic.. It's so disgusting what happen to me that Epping vet clinic is still doing business and advertising southern cross pet services at their clinics. Actions speak louder then words Epping vet clinic.. You have forgotten about your customers and put profit first. I understand you make money from referrals to Southern Cross pet services but really, is this how you do business ?? There is no other company you can use besides Southern Cross? Me and family are very disappointed with Epping vet clinic, and you have left a vomit taste in my mouth, pain and no closure . If you love your pet do not use this company or their third party services. Hope no one else goes through what I have gone through. Me and my family will never be able to say our final good byes or visit Bruno, thank you so much Epping vet and southern Cross. Keep up the good work, not.. Read Less

Our Airedale had started limping badly when she stood up. We went to not 1, not 2, but 3 different practices locally and they all leapt at the possibility of a cruciate ligament problem, requiring anaesthetics, x-rays, surgery, long recovery time - and that was just for the first leg. We were told to expect that the opposite leg would need the same treatment later as well. Much panic ensued ($$$!) but her breeder referred us to Michael - who felt around her feet and said "She's sprained her toe". He gave us a foul-smelling ointment to use, told us what to expect as the toe mended - and lo, it all came to pass. I do wonder how far we would have gone down the cruciate ligament path before another vet actually said "No, I don't think that's it." We would certainly have been paying for anaesthetic, xrays and a few appointments. We live in Eltham and I would not waste my time, money or mental health on any other vet, when I can drive to Craigieburn to see Dr Bell with any concerns I might have regarding my dog's health.
