Fantastic team of dedicated and caring staff, could not fault anything about the service and support we received from Advanced Vet Care. A special thanks to your amazing surgeon Joycelyn Tran who did our puppy’s heart surgery this week (and literally saved his life when complications arose). It is so clear that Joycelyn genuinely cares about her patients and she took the time to explain everything to us and answer all questions our kids had. We were referred to Advanced vetcare as our 9mo Labrador has bilateral elbow dysplasia. From the moment we first made an appt. we were comfortable that our little boy was going to be looked after. At the initial consultation Dr Sam Snelling explained the problem and how the operation was going to improve Morgan's quality of life into the future. He also explained there were no guarantees but as we had acted quickly the prognosis was very good for a good recovery. We left our... boy there and were called after the op to say all went well. Morgan had to stay an extra night so his pain management could be sorted out. We took him home and are now into week 3 of a 6 week rehab. He had his stitches out today and again we were very happy with the care offered to Morgan, this time by Dr. Shang. All the staff we have had interactions with have been friendly and genuine. We lost one of our beloved dogs earlier this week. We were so fortunate to have him for an additional 2.5 years after a cancer diagnosis and subsequent care from AVC. The vets and nurses have been exceptional and show a real love for the animals and have been great support to us, meeting all of our requests. We were deeply touched when we received flowers from AVC with a lovely personal message from AVC the day after our Kobi passed away and the later in the week, receiving a personal text from one of the nurses. This shows how caring AVC are and we will be forever grateful for the extra time they gave us with our pet and their genuine thoughts towards us after his passing. From the Smith family. Read Less

Brought it in this morning as my dog gave a early birth there was a one that was bleeding in his belly because the intestines popped out. The female vet recommend me putting it down but i wanted to go through surgery. The surgery is basically pushing the intestines back into belly and stitching it up. And we found it came out again in 2h and we had to put her down in different hospital. The vet said it has been infected too much. I just dont understand why she even went through the surgery if she were gonna do this sloppy work. Its supposed to be either not doing it or doing it properly. One of the baby died too on the way to the hospital. Its nothing to do with the vet but i ve lost too many lives. Before we got it checked one of the nurse said none of them will survive. The thing is she is not a vet and didnt even see the babies close. I still have no idea why the hell she said such thing for what reason. Read Less

My dog Mike had to have a hip replacement. As nervous as I was Dr Sam Snelling went through everything with me and calmed me right down. 3 days in and Mike is doing better than I ever imagined. He is up and putting weight on the leg and he doesnt seem to be in any discomfort.Read Less

Just saw the lovely Sarah with our kitten with an injured paw, and she has such a great bedside manner, was so kind and thorough in her examination. This a such a great vet clinic! Just wanted to give a massive shout out and big thank you to Dr Sam Snelling and team for taking amazing care of my little dog just before Christmas. After having an average experience at another clinic it turned out my little dog had a complication and required further surgery. So glad I found Dr Sam! I was so impressed with the empathy, communication and personalised care that we received. That bit of extra genuine care and communication makes such a difference. Recently we had our 14 yo dog euthanised at Advanced Vet Care. We were quite upset when Tim the emergency vet sedated our dog before we walked into the room to say goodbye. She had been a patient at the hospital for a few days. He said 'step 1 has already been done' as we entered the consulting room (we weren't aware there were two steps to euthanasia). Our dog was totally knocked out, eyes unresponsive, deep laboured breathing and she wasn't aware that we were with her to the very end. This is unacceptable and more careful consideration should be given by the vet before rushing this incredibly delicate process. I had seen her a couple of hours earlier and she was awake and alert, despite having a terminal condition. My husband and I were so heartbroken and it still upsets me. I called the practice the following week and left a message for the practice manager to call me. I didn't receive a call back, which was dissapointing as we have spent several thousands of dollars over the years, paying for the best possible care. Our experience up until this point was positive. Our dog had been a patient at this practice for around 6 years. Sam is a fantastic vet, who certainly extended our dogs life and we are grateful for his expertise and care. Despite our final experience, I do recommend Sam to anyone needing the best care for their beloved animals. Read Less

Our boy Hunter received care here on the 27/12/17. He had emergency surgery for a twisted spleen and bloat. We can not thank all of the staff enough. They were all very compassionate from the onset. Their primary concern was for our boy. A few years ago we had another emergency with our other dog Asha. We attended Essendon Fields emergency vet and their primary concern was the money and not the welfare of our girl. Advanced care we can not thank you enough. You were all wonderful, compassionate and supportive. Thanks to you Hunter has nearly made a full recovery. We are taking him to our regular vet today for a check up and to have his stitches removed. Our dog ate some chocolate and we only realised it after almost 12hrs. We rushed our dog on a sat night to Advanced Vet @ Kensington and this is the most honest vet we've come across so far. The nurse gathered all information and facts I have bout this incident. Went into the room discussed with the vet and came out to tell us that base on the facts we have, we shouldn't be worrying too much. Unless we insist to see the vet, or else we may go home and keep monitoring our dog. If this is somewhere else I believe that even evaluating our facts the vet might have charged us consultation fee. But Advanced Vet didn't do that. Thank you you all for being so honest. From now onwards our dogs will only come to you. Read Less

Our special little pug needed serious spinal surgery and as scared as we were going into it, if he or any other dog ever neeed something like that again (let's hope not) I would not hesitate one bit to go back to Sam and his team at Advanced Vetcare. They are amazing and they seem to be the top of their tree, absolute miracle workers. If you ever need any help or even just a knowledgeable opinion on anything spinal related, don't waste time with middle men, just come straight here. Peter and I cannot speak more highly of the service and attention my "Sunshine" received when attending the most caring of vets Dr Clint Yudelman and would recommend in a crisis going to Advanced Vet Care for their specialist treatment. Sadly Sunshine was not able to be saved, but we did give her the very best chance in going to Kensington. Clint's out of hours emails and research was exemplary and over weekends too. ADVANCED RIP OFFS !!! Our dog went in for soft palate removal and a retained testicle removal. PROBLEM 1) After 2 phone calls with the clinic, them checking with the vet and calling me back they agreed to remove just the 1 retained testicle, on consultation the vet out right refused to do this and said the procedure would only go ahead if I agreed to removing both. I felt bullied and this was against my wishes, but I agreed, as he explained it could be in the best interest of my dog. €€€Over the phone I was quoted $1900 for soft palate and $500 for testicle removal. €€€ Problem 2) When we went in this morning, in the clinic where they perform surgeries that require a 12hour fasting, they have a water bowl right at the counter where you have to fill in forms. Why is this in such a dumb place and not off to the side? Who knows. My dog drank from this, little to my knowledge, which then caused complications during his surgery. €€€my dog vomited during surgery and the soft palate did not go ahead€€€ Problem 3) as the desexing still went ahead I assumed I just be paying the 'extra $500' I was originally quoted. BUT NO!!!! This procedure cost a total of $1700, yes you read that correct ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS to desex my dog. This includes $145 for the 5 minute consult where I was bullied into doing something I didn't want. So, in conclusion I DO NOT recommend this clinic, not only do you have to take a second mortgage on you home to afford desexing, you could probably find somewhere cheaper and nicer, that would do a better job Read Less

Thank you to Dr. Sam. We took our 10 year German Shepherd in today suspecting that he had ruptured his ACL. Dr. Sam was considered and thoughtful in his approach. X-rays and 45 minutes later, Sam informed us that he did not have ACL damage, but soft tissue damage. Wolfie was able to come home with us, after Dr. Sam gave sound advice about changing our dog's activity to suit his age. We appreciated Sam's honesty, gentle approach with Wolfie, and the time he spent with us. I should also note, that we traveled from the Surfcoast to Advanced Vetcare because our vet highly recommended Sam for his integrity and ethics in his practice, as well being well known for being an TPLO master. Advanced Vet Care were amazing from the moment I made contact with them. DR DAVID HALL was outstanding!! His advice, explanation, knowledge, compassion and skill in his field of practice was flawless. He went above and beyond and his time was endless for our questions & concerns. He performed an amputation of our much loved dog Peppas hind leg, keeping us informed at all stages. He followed up & answered our concerns even on his days off. Peppa is at Day 14 of recovery, is doing amazing and we as a family could not be more thankful to him and all of his team for all that they have done. I actually can not believe this Advance vet care is rated at 4 stars... WHAT A JOKE!!!!! ATTENTION!!!!! Anyone with an artic breed DO NOT GO HERE!!! My husky went to have done a simple MRI scan, for anyone that does not know anestic for arctic dogs should only be that of a quarter of the dose to that of a non arctic breed, my husky that is 9 at the time was given the full dosage, for the next 3 months he would drag his legs, he could not jump into the car no more and even fell over consistently, I kept ringing back this vet and they kept reassuring me another 24 hours and he will be fine, so being as upset I was seeing he is my best friend I rang asking for the owner of this practice, they told me to come down so I could meet him there, he didn't care less and was more upset that I had pulled him away from his holiday house in dormant oh and threaten me he will call the police because I was at this point I was frustrated of the treatment my husky and I had gone though... that was 18 months + ago and still he has never recovered and still drags his legs!!!!! NOT ONCE DID THEY EVER RING ME OR IN ANYWAY MAKE SOME CONTACT IF MY HUSKY WAS GETTING BETTER OR TO OFFER TREATMENT!!!!!! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THERE SMILES AT THIS PLACE!!!!! My dog was here for over 3 weeks, unfortunately today I made the toughest decision to put her down, I couldn't watch her suffer anymore. I cannot thank Vet Warren enough for his kindness and compassion, both towards me and my dog. Also to Vet Liesje who's honest dealings with me and her care towards Tilly were awesome. Thank you to the nice nurses too. The only negative thing I have to say is about a vet called Kat. No kindness or compassion here. When I was stressed out about my dog and spoke with her in the middle of the night, she made me feel stupid for asking her questions and made me feel like I had bothered her - "I can't say what's wrong because your dog is not here in front of me" and "do you have any more questions because I've got other patients to look after", said in a very annoyed, impatient tone. This was the second time I felt distressed after talking to her on the phone. I hope I never have to deal with this horrible person again. RIP my beautiful Tilly.Read Less

Had a stressful midnight visit here with a crying cat and annoy quite right paw. The staff were efficient, the vet we saw was compassionate and sweet to our poor little man. The clinic was so clean and the wait was nothing compared to other places. We left feeling relieved and well looked after, and our little guy is already recovery nicely. We are incredibly grateful for the care of our Fy following a dog attack. Dr David our surgeon put us at ease with his reassurance during this difficult time. Going into emergency with such trauma and being met with calm and confident doctors like Amanda and David was a blessing. Day 1 of recovery after amputation & Fy is beginning to walk again. I can't thank Lydia and the whole team at Advanced Vet Care enough for taking care of our sweet little cat Dantanne. We took him into Advanced Vet Care because he was lethargic, not eating and vomiting. From the moment we arrived everyone was caring, informative and proactive. Lydia was calm, kept us up to date on his progress and helped us make the right choices for Dantanne. After a complex surgery, the Vet nurses were happy to let us visit him and stay with him for as long as we needed to. Even when we had to take his brother in to donate blood, the whole team was supportive. I can't recommend Advanced Vet Care enough. My Maltese X was admitted last Saturday, I was told she was suffering kidney problems. Later that evening vet Jocelyn phoned me to say she had operated on Chloe's bowel and removed an obstruction. As no operation had been discussed, I was flabbergasted but happy when told she would make a complete recovery! I assumed Chloe must have been misdiagnosed. Unfortunately, my elation was short lived. My 6 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, Floyd and I visited Advanced Vetcare on August 23. I was immediately taken back about the fact there is no onsite parking, only parking on the street if you are lucky enough to find a spot. Also the practice is on the first floor, so you must go in the lift. The lack of parking and lift and quite inconvenient if you have a very sick pet or one that does not like to, or is unable to walk. It was revealed during an ultrasound that Floyd was suffering from right sided congestive heart failure. The vet could not give a definite prognosis but said he guessed somewhere between 6 months and a couple of years that Floyd would have to live. I agreed to allow some of the fluid to be drained from Floyd's abdomen for his comfort. I was told that they were only able to drain around 400ml of fluid because Floyd started to get restless and was moving a lot. I was not offered the option of paying the extra $50 to have him sedated. I paid $960 for a consult, ultrasound, drainage and medication. Of this cost, $195 was for the drainage of the fluid. After calling back four days later to say that the medication was having no effect, I was offered to take Floyd back there to have the fluid drained again, this time under sedation for another $400, this is including $150 for another consultation. I was also unhappy with the dosage of medication that was prescribed for Floyd. I thought it was quite low for the size of dog that he is. I had to give him three times the medication that was initially prescribed before I saw any effect. I was extremely unhappy with them telling me to pay another $400 for the sedation and drainage, as I believe the option of sedation should have been offered to me when Floyd had the fluid drained initially and I spoke to the practice manager about it eventually, when she did call me back. I cannot recall her name. After telling her version of events, she listened to mine, and said that she could tell I was very upset and frustrated and would speak to the vet involved and call me back. This was 2 months ago and she still has not bothered to follow up my complaint. I ended up taking Floyd to my own vet who managed to drain around 650ml of fluid, without sedation for $120 and they said Floyd did not move. Also, when my vet read the report sent to her by Advanced Vetcare, she told me that she does not think Floyd will have 6 months to live. She said it would be lucky if it was another month. And she was correct, we had to have Floyd put to sleep exactly a month and a day after our visit to Advanced Vetcare. So, in my experience at Advanced Vetcare, I found that they only seem to be after money instead of putting pets interests first, they gave a too low dosage of medication, Floyd's prognosis was way off and they do not take customer complaints seriously. I wish I never brought Floyd here and that I'd taken him elsewhere.Read Less

I finally got told about you guys and thankfully made the right decision to drive over 2 hours away to come and see your amazing specialists with my best mate Bronson (Doberman) That very day he was assessed and put into surgery to operate on his achilies injury! He had liver failure and we were told he may not make it the nurses and vet were extremely beautiful in this time and let us visit him whenever we wanted. Not happy at all. Came in on a Sunday evening with my dog who had hurt his leg. Checked in all seemed fine and nothing was said. No one else in the waiting room so thought it might not be too long to wait. Then other patients came in and all were seen before my dog. After an hour of no communication at all with any of the staff I went to the front counter as my dog was getting restless and was in pain. A rude woman came out and let us know that they apparently were busy but in a way that I think I was meant to feel uncomfortable for asking why our appointment was taking so long. Operations going on out the back she said looking down at me. No one told me there was a wait not once and so many patients coming in and being seen before us. Then I asked well how much longer? " maybe another hour or more" . So apparently no one counld tell me and my injured dog that at the start. I have been here before and they do a good job. But for customer service in my hour of need I give them a big fat zilch. If your in a hurry and looking for customer service this is not the place to go. Look further.Read Less

Surprised and disappointed at their procedures. They took my cat away at reception and didn't consult me at all and started treating her for something else that was not significant at all ( she was breathing heavily due to being stressed and in pain) and 30 mins later I saw the vet who had completely missed the REAL issue and had to go back and examine her. And then all she could say was' yeah that's not normal' - yes I know, that's why I brought her in. I refused to pay for the unauthorised treatments and went home to see my real vet in the morning. Maybe they're amazing vets for trauma and such but in this case it was a big fail. I won't be going to them in another emergency. Read Less

Now withdrawing my previously glowing review of Advanced Vetcare. Terrible experience with a very inexperienced / junior nurse (although still charged the full, very expensive emergency vet consult rate). She suggested a number of times that I needed to 'make a decision' (i.e. put my dog to sleep) after almost no examination and without any real reason. No idea what she was on about.
