We have been clients with the WVC for the past 6 years. In recent times it has been our 2nd home for us & our 12.5 year old GSP Janey. In July Janey had a 2.5kg benign tumor removed & under Katy, Sue & other team members watchful eye and care she showed us she wasn't going any where. We were also allowed to visit Janey to comfort & reassure her before she came home. Once we were home we received post op follow up calls checking on how Janey was recovering. On our regular visits to WVC for check up's, etc, we were always greeted with a friendly smile/hello and Janey always acknowledged. 2 weeks ago Janey had her 1st seizure. We called ahead and on arrival a consult room was ready for us. Katy gave us time to cry, shared what was the likely cause and given time to make an informed decision. We decided to give the anti-seizure medication a try and after some discussions with Katy and tweaking to get the dosage right Janey again showed us she wasn't going anywhere. A few days later though Janey's body started showing signs that her quality of life would soon start to deteriorate. Following more discussions with Katy we agreed it was time to farewell our beloved Janey girl. On Wednesday this week, Katy came to our home and following our lead she sensitively included our 4 year old daughter in Janey's last moments with us. Through our tears and heart break she had nothing but kind and thoughtful words to say about us & Janey. When we got home from work/childcare on Thursday, a lovely bunch of flowers and card had been delivered from Katy and the WVC team. Whilst this very kind and unexpected gesture brought more tears to our eyes we also experienced an overwhelming feeling of thankfulness that Janey had such genuine, kind & caring people watching over her in her last months with us. I cannot fault them and we will definitely be returning one day when we are ready to welcome a new 4 legged family member.Read Less
