We have just changed vets from a very well know (and overpriced chain) and were recommended here by tonnes of people and we weren’t disappointed at all! We were also lucky to have our puppy looked at by the infamous Danny. I’ve never met a vet like Danny, not only did he check out Loki over thoroughly but he spends time educated you about your pet to help take care of him better! Very glad to have made the switch!! Thanks HAMPTON Vet Hospital!! Read Less

Thanks to Danny and the team for saving our curly retriever, Spike. Poor dog collapsed on Good Friday. One call to Danny and he was on his way to open the surgery for us. We have attended Danny's practice for many years. He was so skilled with my Weimaraner, including during a late night bloat-related emergency. Great surgical skill. He has shown the same care and fine diagnostic skills with my two Goldies. I have a hospital background and know a talented, dedicated professional when I see one! We suffered through lack of caring and compassion received by Danny and staff. After 14 years, we didn't expect to be abandoned in our hour of real need. Although the red flags were there I didn't follow my heart. My little maltese/shihtzu was 14. She spent 5 days in this vet hospital in September 2015 with pancreatitis. We were very concerned because the hospital is closed at night and not monitored by any staff. But, on 17th January 2016 on Danny's advice and against my own better judgement I allowed her to spend another 4 nights there on a drip. On Thursday 21st she was allowed to come home. As I always did, I paid our bill (this time $2,000) and left knowing I would not like her to have to spend another night there so I discussed once again and confirmed that when the time came he would come to our home so our little dog would pass peacefully at home. Saturday 22nd she was bad. I phoned early that morning. I was in tears while speaking with Sandra and she told me Danny would call me back when he was free. I sat with my very sick dog for hours waiting for Danny to phone. At 12 midday I phoned again in a panic that Sandra had not spoken to Danny and that the clinic may close without contacting me. Sandra assured me she had spoken with Danny but he was still busy. In tears I explained how bad she was. She told me I should use an eye dropper to get her to drink because dehydration was a very painful way to die. She spoke with Danny while I waited on the phone and then told me he said she sounded very sick and that he could come in 20 minutes to put her down. Horrified at that thought, I said I needed to speak with Danny before I could take this step and could he please ring me and maybe come later that day. No was the answer but, he could come at 9.30am the next morning. I told her I needed to take a breath and to please give me 5 minutes to make this decision and I will phone back. I phoned back in 10 minutes only to learn that both Danny and Sandra were too busy to speak with me and was told again Danny would phone me when he could. At 2pm when the clinic closed I had still not heard from anyone. I waited until 3pm and in despair and desperation was told by a friend to ring either South Road vet or the Wickham Road 24 hour emergency vet as both had a good reputation for being caring and compassionate not only with clients and their pets but were also wonderful and caring and contributed greatly to wildlife rescue. Sunday morning 23rd I attended South Road vet. They had contacted Danny and requested my dogs records be emailed to them which they did. Her records were as thick as a book. Our dog was diabetic requiring insulin injections twice daily, along with tablets every day for her heart and her cushings disease. She was on antibiotics for the infection she received in her leg while in hospital on the drip. You can imagine we spent a lot of time at this vet. Sadly, she was put to sleep by the staff at Wickham Road at 8.30pm Sunday 24th. One of the hardest and most upsetting things I have ever had to go through. So devastated were we that our wish of having her put to sleep peacefully in her home was not possible. My phone calls were never returned and I have still not to this day (5.2.16) ever been contacted by anyone from Hampton Veterinary Hospital. Quite shocking. Read Less
