My gentle little cat, Lula hurt her leg and was in a lot of pain and distress. Prahran Vet were the only local clinic who could fit us in that same day because they’re smart enough to provide an online form for background info for new patients, allowing them to be more efficient. Dr Melinda Bakker was so gentle and loving while checking her damaged leg, that Lula calmed right down and seemed quite comforted. Dr Bakker provided pain relief and great advice and also called a few days later to check how Lula was recovering. It’s phenomenally upsetting when your animal is in pain and you don’t know why or what to do, and such a relief to get excellent medical care that helps and comforts them, thank you so much. Great customer service, you can tell they really do care about their clients pets. Took our dog to be desexed here, we opted for the keyhole surgery and are very happy with how our dog was treated and the surgery was successful. She only has two small incisions and are healing very well. They took the time to run through the procedure and risks involved, this left us with the confidence that we were making the right decision to leave our pet with them. Exceptional, in every possible way!! The team at Prahran Vet are incredible. Not only do the vets specialist in a variety of fields, so your pup doesn't have to be shipped around to different locations for differed issues, the team have consistently gone above and beyond any regular expectation... following up out of hours, making special arrangements, always putting the animal's (and stressed parents) needs first. In my life of owning animals I have never found such a practice, where each and every Vet is 100% committed to each patient they see, and for much more than the 30min consult. They are not upfront with the costs of treatment. I asked for a quote for an operation for my cat. They gave me a form to sign that said around $200. When I had to pay they charged me nearly $600. It looks like they are embarrassed about how much they charge, but they won't tell you face to face. Read Less

Our puppy got sick very quickly, with 3 trips in one day and multiple phone calls they were kind and understanding and helped our little fella feel better. This talented cohesive extraordinary team basically saved my nine year old cats life. Nero, my Burmese was about 24 hrs away from death, they saved him and cured him (ongoing for a week or so). So I came to Prahran Vet because of stellar recommendations from respected friends and for the simple fact that the team of veterinary doctors offer a range speciality services over and above the general 'GP' vet. My pup needed dental consultation and instead of going to a vet and then referral to a specialist (and all that additional cost) I met with Dr. Nicole (dental specialist) who presented me with all the possible options and info, from which we decided an operation was the best bet. My pup, post op, was happy and lively and the whole team at Prahran Vet were so lovely with him. We had our 1 week check up today and Nicole said the results are better than she could have hoped. And that b/c of the dental work she performed my pup gets complimentary dental check ups, every 3mths, for the rest of his life!!! Simply amazing. I have been taking all my pets here for a number of years and even though i have moved from the area, i still i travel a significant distance as i cannot fault them. The vets and nurses at Prahran Veterinary Hospital were extremely kind, helpful and professional - after the great care he received on his first visit, Buddy was very excited for each subsequent visit.
