I have been taking my cat which is going to be 18 next month for more than 10 years. At first I was happy with this clinic but I am getting less and less happy with them. In the last visit my cat was seen by a senior vet and had blood test. At that time I was told to call him on 2pm next day, so I did. But I was told that he was busy so I left the message to call me. He called me sometime after 8pm but unfortunately I couldn't answer his call. He left the message that the blood test result was not bad but wanted to discuss with me further, so he wanted to call me back. So I called a few times next day, and two more business days. But I was always told that he was busy so I left the same message to ask him to call me back. But I have never received his call again. 6 months ago my cat was seen by a junior vet and had blood test, and this vet chased me up with the phone until he caught me. And neither of them gave me actual blood test result other than telling me it was not bad. Blood test is not cheap so I want to have actual results, the numbers, and google them to know what they mean. I think they are too busy now. They have 3 consultation rooms but only 2 were in use. And junior vets constantly change. I always find the old ones disappeared and new ones are there. Not good.

I have had very sad and bad experience with this clinic. I took my healthy male cat for desexing after having the appointment taken 3 weeks before. The lady who came to take my cat from me at the clinic said that my cat looked healthy and happy before taking it off me. I took my cat out from basket, kissed it , filled all paperwork and left it for the process at 11.20 am and was told to pick him up after 6pm that evening. But at 12.59 pm I suddenly receive a call from them saying my cat passed away during the procedure. I was at the shops then with my daughter and we both nearly collapsed there and cried loud for more than an hour before we could hold ourselves back. It was a biggest shock of our lives. How can a healthy cat die during desexing that too a male cat more easy and external procedure.????????? No one in the world believes that this can happen .
They could not give much explanation at all about my cat sudden death while in their hands. All they kept on saying was "I am sorry, looks like your cat had allergy to anesthesia".
That was all they could say in answer to my all questions. I know how such conditions can happen but because of their unsure and unprofessional answer , my dought on their work was more by now .I asked them to provide them the medical report of my dead cat explaining how that happened and they did not send it to me in email until after 5pm that too after few call from my end chasing them. Even the staff at the reception was very rude and not even looking at you while talking to you. To me the whole experience was super traumatic and we all at home as a family and my puppy are still in state of shock and grieving . They have not bothered calling me even once.
Hence, my request to all out there is PLEASE think hundred times before you take your beloved pet in that clinic. You may not get them back alive like I did. They have no hearts and time to comfort your loss even when that happened while in their hands. They are not responsible and reliable at all!!!!.
BEWARE is all I would say .
Very disheartened by their unprofessionalism even and after the sad event.

Took my senior dog when she started having seizures they did not show much interest even though I was devastated my dog had side effects so I stopped medication later found out after a trip to Melbourne emergency vet who educated us about what was happening brain cancer and that my dog had to stay on anti seizure medication my dog went down hill fast and suffered a sad last couple of months of her life because of this vet clinic. They are greedy and in a hurry and do not educate or follow up! I have since found great other vets who show interest time and care for my new dog and their vetinary costs are very affordable

First time at this clinic. Booked in my female dog for a spey, all seemed well, vet was nice as was the medical student in attendance, reception booked my dog in under the wrong name and didn't bother to check/fix it until the vet noticed.
Surgery site seems neat and well done, but they never called me to update me on my dogs recovery after surgery, I had to call them.
Receptionists are dismissive, not terribly warm, just want to rush you in and out. I was hoping to find a new regular vet but I think I shall keep looking.

Wish I could give no stars. This vet is a total money grab! Go in to get tablet for dogs arthritis. They want to charge almost $3 per tablet. I show them an online pharmacy price of $1.80 per tablet they said they can’t match it (even though they said on the last visit that they can match online prices).i then request a script so I can source myself online and they said they don’t do it anymore. After discussion they said they can write the script but will cost almost $25! When questioned they said they can charge what they like. They genuinely don’t care about animals, it’s a business for them. This tablet is required everyday for pain with arthritis. Their prices would equal to over $75 a month as opposed to $54 a month online. How can people afford this? I’ll never be going back again.

I haven’t been here very often, but we took our dog here when he seriously hurt his back on the weekend and could not walk. They recommended we take him to Advanced Vet Care in Kensington. Our dog had surgery at Advance Vet Care and is now getting better. It is good to know the St Albans Vet Clinic is open on weekends when you need vet care in an emergency.

I went to Vet clinic with my dog who was bleeding. I was advise by VET to put him on sleep or treat him but to be around $300 monthly at least 6 months. Two days after I back to picked up order of medicine prescribed to him and was asked to pay $280.VET explained the tablets are only for 1 week. I was in shock and asked VET lady what she mentioned 2 days ago.
Around $300 monthly are not about $1,200 which I should be asked to pay. In the mean time I check on internet and I found for 2 product they charged me $280 I can order online for $150.I asked VET for prescription to order online.
She spoken with Ms Kim (manager???) and she advised no any chance for prescription but she will match prices if I find cheaper.
With letter and also attachment from 3 different suppliers I sent email to VET clinic in St Albans and also Footscray. I have not received any response.
Then I decided to speak with manager Ms Kim.
After she check email I sent, she decided no chance to match prices and offered now prescriptions.
My advise for the customers
Check reviews in surrounding area
Never pay for medicine until check prices online
You can get prescription if you are going to Lort Smith.
St Albans Vet Clinic cared about money not about animals.

I used to think they were good. Until the last few times I took my girl there, I suspected, they cared about money more than my baby's welfare. They used to charge me $3 and $4 per tablet for my girl's medicine. I have moved and found a great vet, it was evident straight away how caring my new vet is and guess what 70cents per tablet. Wow. Huge difference for someone who is on low wages at times but other than that, it shows where their priorities lie. My suspicion has been confirmed, their priority is money. One more thing, I have seen them turn away a guy with a dog that was bleeding, dog badly cut it's foot, almost cut it off, it looked like. The guy couldn't pay on the spot, he offered to leave whatever it took to get care for his dog and they turned him away.

Just poor front of house service and I know the receptionist has been there for awhile. But you get the new one's and it's like they RUSH YOU OFF THE PHONE when you call. If i could give this place 0 stars i would. My dog had come in after seizuring, the customer service was awful. Uncaring, disinterested, unconcerned & uninformative. This goes to the nurses and to the vet who took care of my dog. I expected so much more from atleast the Vet, he treated me and my mum like we were idiots. I also raised concerns for one of her hind legs as she could not put any pressure on it. Upon roughly checking her legs and observing her walk, he said her legs were fine and that they were not broken and it was nothing to be concerned about. My sister then takes her in again some years later and she is quoted 2k per leg if they were to operate on it, not even telling her what was wrong with them. Now, this year, theyve finally concluded she has ARTHRITUS and they prescribed meds. How dare they have even given such a price when they didnt even know what it was?? First of all, she obviously was not walking properly so an x-ray SHOULD have been the first step to investigating what was wrong before quoting such a ridiculous price to scare clients off. THEY ARE LAZY. THEY DONT CARE. DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS VET. I am a vet nurse now, and recognise how terrible this Vet clinic was and still is. I am beyond disgusted & furious that they take advantage of their clients such as my mother for example, who is vietnamese and cannot speak perfect english. My experience there was that they became impatient and uninterested. They were definitely not thorough.This practice is a disgrace and utterly unprofessional.

Wish I could give no stars. This vet is a total money grab! Go in to get tablet for dogs arthritis. They want to charge almost $3 per tablet. I show them an online pharmacy price of $1.80 per tablet they said they can’t match it (even though they said on the last visit that they can match online prices).i then request a script so I can source myself online and they said they don’t do it anymore. After discussion they said they can write the script but will cost almost $25! When questioned they said they can charge what they like. They genuinely don’t care about animals, it’s a business for them. This tablet is required everyday for pain with arthritis. Their prices would equal to over $75 a month as opposed to $54 a month online. How can people afford this? I’ll never be going back again.

Very nice staff, just too stuffy in the waiting room. Hardly any ventilation circulating around. Would be a lot more pleasant as there is some waiting occurring.

I haven’t been here very often, but we took our dog here when he seriously hurt his back on the weekend and could not walk. They recommended we take him to Advanced Vet Care in Kensington. Our dog had surgery at Advance Vet Care and is now getting better. It is good to know the St Albans Vet Clinic is open on weekends when you need vet care in an emergency.

I went to Vet clinic with my dog who was bleeding. I was advise by VET to put him on sleep or treat him but to be around $300 monthly at least 6 months. Two days after I back to picked up order of medicine prescribed to him and was asked to pay $280.VET explained the tablets are only for 1 week. I was in shock and asked VET lady what she mentioned 2 days ago.
Around $300 monthly are not about $1,200 which I should be asked to pay. In the mean time I check on internet and I found for 2 product they charged me $280 I can order online for $150.I asked VET for prescription to order online.
She spoken with Ms Kim (manager???) and she advised no any chance for prescription but she will match prices if I find cheaper.
With letter and also attachment from 3 different suppliers I sent email to VET clinic in St Albans and also Footscray. I have not received any response.
Then I decided to speak with manager Ms Kim.
After she check email I sent, she decided no chance to match prices and offered now prescriptions.
My advise for the customers
Check reviews in surrounding area
Never pay for medicine until check prices online
You can get prescription if you are going to Lort Smith.
St Albans Vet Clinic cared about money not about animals.

I used to think they were good. Until the last few times I took my girl there, I suspected, they cared about money more than my baby's welfare. They used to charge me $3 and $4 per tablet for my girl's medicine. I have moved and found a great vet, it was evident straight away how caring my new vet is and guess what 70cents per tablet. Wow. Huge difference for someone who is on low wages at times but other than that, it shows where their priorities lie. My suspicion has been confirmed, their priority is money. One more thing, I have seen them turn away a guy with a dog that was bleeding, dog badly cut it's foot, almost cut it off, it looked like. The guy couldn't pay on the spot, he offered to leave whatever it took to get care for his dog and they turned him away.

Just poor front of house service and I know the receptionist has been there for awhile. But you get the new one's and it's like they RUSH YOU OFF THE PHONE when you call. If i could give this place 0 stars i would. My dog had come in after seizuring, the customer service was awful. Uncaring, disinterested, unconcerned & uninformative. This goes to the nurses and to the vet who took care of my dog. I expected so much more from atleast the Vet, he treated me and my mum like we were idiots. I also raised concerns for one of her hind legs as she could not put any pressure on it. Upon roughly checking her legs and observing her walk, he said her legs were fine and that they were not broken and it was nothing to be concerned about. My sister then takes her in again some years later and she is quoted 2k per leg if they were to operate on it, not even telling her what was wrong with them. Now, this year, theyve finally concluded she has ARTHRITUS and they prescribed meds. How dare they have even given such a price when they didnt even know what it was?? First of all, she obviously was not walking properly so an x-ray SHOULD have been the first step to investigating what was wrong before quoting such a ridiculous price to scare clients off. THEY ARE LAZY. THEY DONT CARE. DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS VET. I am a vet nurse now, and recognise how terrible this Vet clinic was and still is. I am beyond disgusted & furious that they take advantage of their clients such as my mother for example, who is vietnamese and cannot speak perfect english. My experience there was that they became impatient and uninterested. They were definitely not thorough.This practice is a disgrace and utterly unprofessional.
