I’m not one to typically leave a review, but I felt I needed to for this clinic. The most amazing and professional team I’ve ever seen. They found our dogs lung cancer and was right by our side every step of the way, even when we sent him over the rainbow bridge. They made us feel so comfortable and at ease with the process and show compassion through out, helped organise the cremation and sent a hand written condolences card when I picked up his urn. I would give them 10 stars i I could. Thank you.

I Truly appreciate all that the staff at St Kilda Vet Clinic has done for my two Frenchies.
Unfortunately my dogs have continuous health issues but i am at ease knowing they are in such good hands at this clinic.
Justin is the Vet who looks after my two and he has become such a special part of our little family as his ongoing care and support makes it so much easier to manage all their health issues. We are always greeted with warmth by all the staff and their enthusiasm towards all the animals when they see them gives me so much joy and will put you at ease knowing they genuinely love what they do and care.
I advise anyone who loves their pets as much as i do visit Justin and the staff at this clinic, your pets are in the SAFEST of hands there..!

Excellent clinic. I must say they offer a top of the line service here and the clinic is located in St Kilda at a easy to find spot with reasonable parking opportunities. I found the talented staff very caring people, particularly paying attention to what I had noticed was going on with all the pets that I had previously presented to them. I had to leave my pets on different occasions and was extremely happy to see that my animals we're not only in better condition but happy as well. They know their stuff and have good management to boot.

We have utilised several vets during our numerous dogs' lives, and now use St.Kilda vet as our preferred clinic. Having previously worked at another clinic, i can say that St.Kilda vet is a fantastic clinic with caring staff and the quality of veterinarians the reason why i continue to take my dogs here.
Dr. Karen Boyd-Jones is a wonderful vet and the team she has assembled to support her is second to none.
I find their prices very competitive, and whilst some might view them on the high side, the quality of service they provide means it is well worth it.
The practice has gotten busier and busier since i first came here, which is thoroughly deserved.

In general it's a good clinic but there are several things that could improve. One thing is the price of the treatments. Expensive compared to other clinics. The other thing is, which is the most important one, the efficiency and proffessionalism of some of the vets.
My dog had dental issues that were very evident just smeling his breath. I mentioned it everytime I had an appointment to do routine checks to my dogs. None of them told me anything about it, it was like it was not very important, nothing to worry about.
One day I got an appointment with the owner of the clinic. Without asking her, she checked my dogs teeth and I could see in her face that something was very bad. She urged me to get an appointment to clean his teeth urgently otherwise I could loose my dog.
I complained. Why no one told me before? Even having showed my worries about his bad breath? I received no answer.
Since this day, I always book appointments with her.
Last week we cleaned my dog's teeth for the second time in 3 years but this time she discovered that his dental issues affected his heart a bit so we needed to put him in a new treatment.

Having used St Kilda Vet for over two years for my dog, Fez I've generally and genuinely been very satisfied with the service, particularly Dr. Justin. Our most recent visit however has left me seething.
My boy Fez loves a good run on the beach and after one recent run, he pulled up lame. When there was no improvement, an appointment was made. I explained to the vet (Laura) that I'd not been able to find anything in his paw that might be causing the problem. That said, I'm not a vet. At this point, Fez was unable to put any weight on his back right leg. After a cursory feel around, I was advised that he'd 'definitely' torn a muscle in his leg, a muscle the vet was not able to name I might add. I was advised that it would be best to take him to a specialist for his breed.
We've now had two visits to the specialist, the first of which took less than a couple of minutes to locate the splinter in the pad of his paw that was causing the issue, and then confirmed by x-ray. The second visit to remove it.
This afternoon, I received an apology call from St Kilda Vet and a promise of consultation fee being refunded. When I took the call, I was not given any opportunity to speak, I was spoken at, not to. I quite literally didn't get an opportunity to get a word out, so now, this is my opportunity.
Neither the apology nor the refund would have been necessary had the vet spent anymore than the one minute assessing Fez before sending us on our way, my wallet lightened to the tune of $90 in the process. It appears that the churn and burn capacity of this method of assessment and billing carries more importance than the welfare of the animal or the accuracy of the diagnosis. While I welcome the apology and the refund as an acknowledgement of the inappropriate care and assessment of my dog, I'd much rather it had not been necessary to begin with.
Time to find another vet.

I have two cats, one of whom has anxiety issues, and the resident animal behaviourist, Dr Katrina, and all the staff have been so helpful and patient as we slowly trained him to become comfortable going there, which involved many short visits that slowly grew longer, ending up with him successfully getting vaccinated for the first time in years. Cannot say enough good things about them. Genuine animal lovers.

St Kilda vet have been fabulous for our frenchbulldog. We had Justin McKay do his soft pallate resection and neutering for a very reasonable price. They are open till 8pm as well and both days on the weekend, we have been able to get an appointment the same day no problems. Their level of care and service has been wonderful, I Highly recommend this Vet.

I’m not one to typically leave a review, but I felt I needed to for this clinic. The most amazing and professional team I’ve ever seen. Justin is the Vet who looks after my two and he has become such a special part of our little family as his ongoing care and support makes it so much easier to manage all their health issues. Excellent clinic. I must say they offer a top of the line service here and the clinic is located in St Kilda at a easy to find spot with reasonable parking opportunities. I found the talented staff very caring people, particularly paying attention to what I had noticed was going on with all the pets that I had previously presented to them. Having previously worked at another clinic, i can say that St.Kilda vet is a fantastic clinic with caring staff and the quality of veterinarians the reason why i continue to take my dogs here.

They are open till 8pm as well and both days on the weekend, we have been able to get an appointment the same day no problems.
