Our goal is to offer comprehensive veterinary care tor small animals and large animals, ensuring peace of mind for farmers and pet owners alike.
West Gippsland Vet Care began operating as a single vet practice in 1989 and has evolved into a practice consisting of 6 full time veterinarians and 2 part time veterinarians, backed by a dedicated team of veterinary nurses.
In 2006 the Warragul clinic underwent major renovations to become a spacious, purpose built veterinary clinic. In early 2010 our Drouin clinic was relocated to a newly renovated, modern veterinary facility, enabling us to provide a high level of veterinary care to our Drouin clients.
Working from these modern facilities, we hope to continue to live up to our reputation for providing a friendly and welcoming environment for clients and their animals.
Our staff are continually updating their skills and knowledge through seminars and conferences in order to provide the latest techniques and treatments for our patients.

Absolutely discusted with the treatment I received today from this clinic..
Have been going to them for a number of years but have now asked to be removed off the books as I won't be going back ?? I'm appalled at the response from the vet I received?? Or the receptionist..
I have an extremley old dog 17 years young that suffers from ongoing infections in his eyes treated with antibiotics and cream..by this clinic??
As I was working all day and unable to get him in to the vets I rang and asked if they could write me a prescription for the antibiotics and eye cream as his eyes have flared up again??
I was told no they would have to see him??
I explained I was unable get him there as I was at work and as we were leaving the next morning early to go away to visit my elderly parents and I just needed some antibiotics to help him untill we could get back to the vets early next week??
I asked to speak to the vet myself but again was told no they could not give me antibiotics without seeing him first?? And no the vet did not even bother coming to the phone??
I had no way of getting him there due to work..
They said the vet has a duty of care and no antibiotics will be given..
So in otherwords rather than give me cream and antibiotics they were ok to let me take my aging old dog away on a holiday with no medication at all??
He has been treated at this clinic for years and for the egsacy same thing in June this year..
How could antibiotics and cream be a danger too him..
The fact that the vet on for that day could not even speak to me on the phone tells me just how much duty of care they have..
Totally unacceptable they have lost me ??

Disgusted in the treatment I received from these vets with my last visit in January 2021. I had a 4 week old puppy who was screaming in pain. This vet that I saw on the day was absolutely terrible.
Not only did he give ridiculous advice but advice that would have left my puppy in even more pain. I could not leave my pup in the condition that he wanted me to wait until the next day to maybe do a scan to see what was going on with her. Not good enough having a puppy screaming in pain so I decided to race my puppy to Monash vets in Oakley as for the incompetence of this surgery in Warragul. I stoped at Warragul to ask for her medications she was given three days prior to the day in question only for them to not be able to find her treatment. Again incompetent on their behalf.
I asked if they could find it and email it to Monash.
Should have been there faster than I could drive you would think, but no they still had not sent it.
By the time I got to Monash my puppy was critical. While I was waiting at the new vets I called Warragul to ask for this vet to call me. Nothing at all from him. I visited the clinic to get some answers two weeks later as I was still distraught with the outcome of my puppy.
I spoke with one of the owners only to be fobbed off. NEVER EVER would I recommend this clinic to any one. And I certainly would never recommend this male vet. I have even reported this vet to the veterinary board as once I did speak to him he lied and also stated he would call me back and surprise to this day he has not bothered. Disgusting treatment Warragul and not good enough.

Chris Thorne is one of the most professional vets I've ever met. He constantly checks current best practises and has looked after our cats through a variety of problems. Chris S is also a great vet, who showed genuine compassion when we went through a terminal disease with one of our puds. Michelle and the nurses and receptionists are lovely and helpful.

Very poor form, I’m super unimpressed. A young vet came to my property, was unable to assist, gave no consult and no referral, just told me I would need to call a different vet. I was charged by the clinic over $300 for no consult or treatment and when this was challenged they maintained their ‘right’ to charge me as the vet had attended my premises. I found an alternate vet myself that came and treated my horse with over $100 worth of antibiotics and charged me significantly less than these guys that didn’t treat, assess or medicate.
Poor form, zero integrity as a practice. Clearly money is the focus here, not animal care or customer service.

Very good service and a good atmosphere for pets and owners alike. Had 2 kittens vaccinated and de-sexed their and the staff were very patient and sympathetic with the kittens.

I would like to send a huge thankyou to Simon, Chris, Chris, Tim, Ben, Nursing Staff and all Staff from myself, Greg n of course Fraser for their top notch care over the last 9 days while Fraser was with them after been bitten by a tiger snake on Sat 1st Feb 2015. Thankyou to Simon for his prompt actions, sincerity, kindness and professionalism when we first took Fraser into the clinic if it wasnt for what Simon did n how he did it in those crucial few minutes and through sat night Fraser probably wouldnt be with us today then treatment and care for Fraser continued at the same high level standard from all the vets and staff involved. They all kept me informed updated. I cannot in anyway fault any of them. I have been dealing with this clinic for over 6yrs and would recommend them without hesitation. Again a huge Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for all that you did for Fraser.

Found a little black kitten, 3-4 weeks old running around a car park in Warragul. Rang the clinic to see if they might be able to take the kitten, and put it in their "for Adoption" kitten enclosure. ...
Found a little black kitten, 3-4 weeks old running around a car park in Warragul. Rang the clinic to see if they might be able to take the kitten, and put it in their "for Adoption" kitten enclosure.
They happily took the kitten, I hope he finds a happy home.

They happily took the kitten, I hope he finds a happy home.
