It's been 3 and a half months since my furbaby passed away, im still not coping howevr I finally feel I can write this review. I took my baby to Ascot Vet on a Sunday for antibodies as she was vomiting alot, she was on antibiotics for a chest infection that probably hadn't cleared up completely and she had finished the antibiotics 3 days prior. In the room the vet commented on my girls breathing with was extremely laboured, he asked if it was a new symptom I said yes and he left it there, didn't listen to her chest, didn't prescribe antibiotics, in short he didn't really care and wasent interested. He thought the vomitting was becoz of the antibiotics but she wasent sick while on them and she had finished them 3 days before. Her vomiting continued so I gave her the anti emetic he prescribed, she had been suffering from reflux so i also gave her the antacid tablets he gave me and once she went to sleep I went to bed. When I woke up she was struggling to breathe, went outside and collapsed, she died later that day at her vet hospital. They pumped numerous antibiotics into her but by then it was too late, she had either a collapsed lung or fluid in her lungs, it was hard for them to get an xray while she was struggling to breathe. My baby had problems which were under control but she had a chest infection, diagnosed by her vet 13 days earlier, that obviously hadn't healed, hence the laboured breathing and the vomiting. My vet wasent open as it was sunday, the vomiting started Sunday arvo and I thought I could get more antibiotics from Ascot but he sent us away without them.
I've written this review to make people aware of the absolute negligence and lack of care of this vet. It was closing time wen we saw him and all he wanted to go was go home, he made that clear. He should have taken my babies breathing seriously, told us to head to emergency. Never have i seen a vet ignore laboured breathing and blaming the cessation of antibiotics for the vomitting makes me wonder how he got his degree. Please don't take your loved one to this vet if u have an emergency, my little girl is gone becoz of them, don't let yours end up the same. My life will never be the same without my soul mate.
