They killed our dog over a skin irritation! Yes, that's right. They needed a biopsy so they decided to put a 14 year old dog under general anesthesia (not local) to get 3 small samples of skin. My father who didn't know better signed the form to agree to this stupid, negligent procedure (and to free them of potential liability). My mother has been crying for most of the day, a 79 year old woman. You dont put an old dog under general anesthesia unless it's life threatening. They were merely diagnosing a relatively minor condition. I am so mad over this! She was a member of our family not "some dog". They didn't even apologize, it was like "oops!" Do not trust them to make decisions about your pet, they clearly lack the intelligence and experience to do so, go to Epson Veterinary instead, I highly recommend them. Dont know why he took the dog to these guys! So we had to bury what was a relatively healthy dog who had at least a years life left in her because of their blatant stupidity! Read Less

It's been 3 and a half months since my furbaby passed away, im still not coping howevr I finally feel I can write this review. I took my baby to Ascot Vet on a Sunday for antibodies as she was vomiting alot, she was on antibiotics for a chest infection that probably hadn't cleared up completely and she had finished the antibiotics 3 days prior. In the room the vet commented on my girls breathing with was extremely laboured, he asked if it was a new symptom I said yes and he left it there, didn't listen to her chest, didn't prescribe antibiotics, in short he didn't really care and wasent interested. He thought the vomitting was becoz of the antibiotics but she wasent sick while on them and she had finished them 3 days before. Her vomiting continued so I gave her the anti emetic he prescribed, she had been suffering from reflux so i also gave her the antacid tablets he gave me and once she went to sleep I went to bed. When I woke up she was struggling to breathe, went outside and collapsed, she died later that day at her vet hospital. They pumped numerous antibiotics into her but by then it was too late, she had either a collapsed lung or fluid in her lungs, it was hard for them to get an xray while she was struggling to breathe. My baby had problems which were under control but she had a chest infection, diagnosed by her vet 13 days earlier, that obviously hadn't healed, hence the laboured breathing and the vomiting. My vet wasent open as it was sunday, the vomiting started Sunday arvo and I thought I could get more antibiotics from Ascot but he sent us away without them. I've written this review to make people aware of the absolute negligence and lack of care of this vet. It was closing time wen we saw him and all he wanted to go was go home, he made that clear. He should have taken my babies breathing seriously, told us to head to emergency. Never have i seen a vet ignore laboured breathing and blaming the cessation of antibiotics for the vomitting makes me wonder how he got his degree. Please don't take your loved one to this vet if u have an emergency, my little girl is gone becoz of them, don't let yours end up the same. My life will never be the same without my soul mate. I've been taking my 2 fur babies to Ascot for about 6 years now, have seen pretty much everyone at some stage and cannot fault a single visit. They've had a few nasty surgeries required over the years including splenectomy (saved my girl just in time!), vulvaplasty, cyst and cancer removals, etc and the level of care they show both patient and owner is just amazing. I would like to thank Dr Adam Evans and the team for the fantastic care that Tikaanni has received over the last few months. He really did go above and beyond when she had to have surgery back in December. The surgery was done in a timely manner that allowed myself and my husband to have finished work for the Christmas break so we could be there for her recovery, and even though we live in Mandurah the staff was able to source a local pharmacy to dispense extra pain medication so she could be comfortable in that initial recovery period. Ascot Vets have been my veterinarian of choice for over twelve years now and the infirm and invalid animals I've taken there over the years have all been treated with the utmost care and dignity. In particular, our four year old border collie, Buckley, who ruptured his right ACL in early December 2011. Dr Adam expertly repaired it on Friday the 16th PC December, but by Tuesday the 20th he had deteriorated rapidly and we rushed him back to the surgery. He was immediately taken into the x-Ray room, where he crashed right after we left. We got a call from Dr Marcus on our way home asking us where we'd like to take him, as he needed critical care, and we said we'd meet them at Perth Vet Emergency as soon as we could. Dr Marcus and Dr Kevin took it upon themselves to turn Kevin's car into an animal ambulance at around 9pm and rushed him to PVE, with Dr Marcus giving him CPR most of the way, and a shot of adrenaline in the carpark when they arrived but unfortunately he didn't make it. Dr Marcus had to break the news to us (my partner and I were hysterical), and Dr Marcus appeared close to tears himself. We are told that everybody at the surgery received a text about Bucks' passing that night, and that it still affects the nurses and vets involved with his care to this day. More recently, we were referred to Rivergum Veterinary Specialists by Dr Clare, for removal of a cataract from my four year old JRT's left eye. Dr King (the ophthalmologist) was extremely knowledgeable, very unassuming and humble, and expertly repaired her eye. She now has 95% vision back in her eye, Dr King is extremely happy with her progress, and her demeanor has improved dramatically. I am so thankful to have such caring and empathetic people looking after my animals. You are all angels on earth and I shall continue bringing my pets to your practice as long as they keep wanting up come there (which they do - they LOVE their vet visits!)... Thank you! Read Less

You know it's a great vet clinic when your dogs can't wait to get inside and see everyone! As long as I'm living anywhere in Perth I'll be taking my pets to AscotRead Less

I am so impressed with Dr Adam Evans and his staff at this practice. He has generously given of his time, on the phone and in person, to myself and my daughter to explain, answer questions and go through procedures for our poor Winnie. Today she received the all clear. So thank you once again. Read Less

I took my cat to Ascot Veterinary Hospital for a rabies vaccination, as I am taking her overseas. Markus spent quite a bit of time with us, he went on the net looking through all the (pretty convoluted) regulations for the relevant country to ensure I had everything covered, and emailed me some relevant links and advised on agents to handle my cat for the journey. Thank you! Read Less
