This is a hard one because my darling girl didn’t come home with me on Tuesday. HVH have been, over the years, so kind to my little girl, she has had a knee replacement, had her teeth & ears done a couple of time and the gorgeous people that are chosen to work here are first class. My girl left this world on Tuesday, my heart is broken but I arrived home today to flowers, a beautiful card & verse, my loves fur & paw prints on the door step. I recently used this vets services for my old doggy who was near the end. Dr. Javier always made us feel well looked after, and when it came time to make the difficult decision to put my old dog down, they handled it with care and we felt like our beloved doggy was in very caring hands. Thanks to the whole team for all the genuine concern we felt at our loss. I can highly recommend their personal approach. All the vets and nurses here are so lovely, accommodating and friendly. Our puppy Luna was really unwell and Neeta and Javier saw her almost daily until she started to get better, and checked in with us to make sure she was on the mend. They always communicated really clearly and honestly with us and kept us well informed. She has made a full recovery thanks to their care. She is now loving going to puppy class with all of the brilliant nurses, and is not one bit afraid of ...going to the vet. All of the staff are also excellent with our two rescue cats. When I moved to the 'South side' 4 years ago I chose Hilton Vet as it was the closest to where I lived. My then 14 year old cat Moo had always been anxious when going the vet but didn't seem to have the same reaction when I took her there for the first time. Dr Heinrich and the team have always been very friendly and welcoming. Their costs are reasonable and the clinic has a calm atmosphere. Feeling at a loss from some rough service received at a different vet, I tried a new vet being Hilton vet hospital. From the moment I walked in, I was treated so well, and most importantly my dog billy was too. Billy was in a fair bit of discomfort from a fluid haematoma in one of his ears. Heinrich and his team were able to operate on Billy straight away that day and were so accomodating. We also received great service at his follow up appointments after surgery and Billy is now back to his old self with his ear that has made a great recovery! I did not realised how bad my dog's teeth condition until I saw her gums went red. Booked an appointment yesterday to do a check and was told that she was suffering from gingivitis. So I made an appointment for the next day to have her teeth clean up and extracted couple of her teeth out. Dr Heinrich was a very professional Veterinarian. He was so passionate and very gentle with my Bao. This was my first visit to get treatment for my dog, I am so thankful that I left my Bao in his good hands. I will definitely recommend people out there with animals to make appointment with Dr Heinrich if they have any health issue on their animals. My experience here was beyond disappointing. Shady, questionable practices and subpar treatment. I brought my cat in on Wednesday afternoon. The vet - Dr. Henry Chung - asked me what the cat's symptoms were. He did not even take a look at the cat's mouth before advising me (or rather, being pushy) that they normally do things in two steps, they first do full bloodwork to identify the problem; and if they cannot find the problem they will do a CT scan of the abdomen to see if there is blockage or a foreign object, etc. OK, so my cat had excessive salivation, and Dr. did not even take a look at his mouth yet and was already trying to get me to agree to bloodwork. Right then I started getting uneasy but I was already there with my cat, plus the 15 min consultation was already $87. I should have just left. He attempted to open my cat's mouth, noticed the gumline was rather red.. I asked why that was and he said usually from tartar buildup but shrugged that off. He claims he couldn't see anything wrong and the only way to find out what was wrong was to do bloodwork.  When he took the cat to the back, he examined the cat's mouth again. He came back to me and advised he thought he saw a blue string in the back of his mouth/throat. I told him I wanted them to hold off on the blood work and instead I wanted Dr. Chung to take a better look at the cat's mouth and throat. He agreed and told the staff at the back to halt any testing. He was to give my cat mild sedation so he could look at the mouth better for any obstruction. Dr. and I agreed that Dr. Chung would CALL me as soon as he examined his mouth and would advise of his findings, and then we would go from there. I did *not* agree for him to proceed with any testing. He told me the cat was to stay in the facility for 2 hours anyway to wait for the sedation to wear off and he told me to come back. BUT the verbal agreement was he would call me right after examining the cat's mouth. Two hours pass and NO phone call from vet. I finally decided to come back in person to find out the status. What happens next is why I am *furious.* The vet brings me into a room and says well the bloodwork came back fine. But I did see a lesion at the back of his mouth. What!!!! I questioned him as to why he went ahead with any bloodwork when he said he would call me after he examined the cat's mouth under sedation. He went back and forth with me and then he *admitted* that he really should have called me before doing any testing. I called him out on his actions, I said, "So you sedated my cat, examined his mouth and you visibly saw an oral lesion in the back of his mouth that you knew you could just treat with antibiotics and steroid injections. But instead you took it upon yourself to do expensive and unnecessary bloodwork?"He agreed he saw the lesion and should have called me to advise of the injection treatment. This to me seems very shady.Then he could see that I was now visibly upset... shaking and so angry now that I was in tears which takes a lot for me to get that upset. He started to haggle with me on the bill. I'm upset because it is It the principle that he went against my wishes and it's unethical. I feel like he was intentionally trying to take advantage. He adjusted the bill to remove the bloodwork-- which he should have... because he knows what he did was wrong. And he caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. And, what is the deal with them shaving my cat's chest fur? I have had cats for more than 20 years and I have never seen a vet shave a 2 1/2" x 3" patch of chest fur (my cat is a long haired Maine Coon and the patch looks ridiculous) to do an injection. I'm no expert but I thought that was unusual. Maybe they do things differently here... I say buyer beware. I don't even know if the cat's lesion responded to the treatment, plus the fact that the red inflamed gums are unaddressed. They just treated the symptoms and didn't even get the the root of the issue. I know that the gum issue should be addressed so I am taking him to another veterinary establishment. Read Less
