Not much good being cheap when they murder your pet. We took our rabbit for an examination. We were concerned because he was no longer going to his litter box and was laying in his urine which we knew would be painful. The vet examined him and said sterilization would help. He went in, the vet rang us to say they had decided not to sterilize because they wanted to treat his skin infection first. Fair enough but when we got there they told us they had sterilized him but he wasn't recovering. I would like to know why they did not examine him properly at the first consultation then left us for 2 weeks thinking he was ok and that sterilisation would help. The vet offered no explanation for the useless consultation and the nurse told us to go home and come back when my daughter and I were less upset. WANKERS. I am reporting you for malpractice. We have been using Gary Hanley Vet hospital for many years for many pets. We have always found him, & all his staff, excellent, caring professionals that have a genuine empathy for our pets. I do not know what other Vets charge. Gary's fees are very reasonable, pensioners get a discount, which is always very welcome in this day & age. Such a caring and understanding vet service. I took my cat in to be sterilized and when she went in she took with her her favourite teddy bear to keep her company in her carrier. When I came and got her the vet nurses had given her a blue blanket to snuggle into and a green stuffie to cuddle. I then noticed that her teddy bear missing and asked where it was. The vet nurse said she would go and find it. 5 minutes later she came back out and said that the kennel master had put it into the wash and it wasn't finished yet, but that they would mail it out to me. I thought I would never see her most cherished toy again. But I was wrong. Within 3 days I got an envelope in the mail, address to my cat, from the vet, with her teddy bear inside. Excellent vet and care, but extremely long wait times. My last visit i had to park about 100meters down the road and carry 2 cats and walk a dog to the clinic due to it being so busy. After waiting half an hour in line to check in, i ended up just leaving. In saying that, the care given to my dog when she had to be hospitalised was 10/10, the staff are amazing, the prices are extremely competitive and the vets are phenomenal. I like this vet clinic and travel about 30 minutes away to go here, however, due to wait times i will be opting to visit a different clinic for general vet needs (vaccinations and minor non urgent check ups) Read Less

I took my pet for a micro chip. No parking, the waiting room was packed and made me nervous with all the big dogs there. Reception staff were not friendly or professional. Waited for nearly an hour in that dirty room. Consult room was also not clean, with a dirty old rubber mat on the table, still with the previous animals fur all over it. Asian vet was not friendly and after fumbling around with the Micro chip needle he dropped the uncapped needle on the dirty floor. He then picked it up and shoved it straight into my pet! Our much loved and valued sheepdog was destined to a forced retired life with 3 legs when it was suggested to amputate his leg at another clinic. Tiger was taken to the Hanly Vet for a 2nd opinion and with a good clean out of his arthritic hip joint and doing some amazing reconstructive surgery with the muscles and tendons, Tiger is on the long road to recovery. My pup has been constantly scratching his ear so when I went to Hanly Vet, I told the vet that and he subscribed my pup dermotic and to rub the liquid onto the ear where its dry. I went to a different vet after a month for the third vaccination. Turns out, my pup has a pretty bad ear infection since its been left without being treated (found out the dermotic was meant to go into the ear but was never told or shown that). After sitting for an hour waiting for my apt watching two dogs walk around freely, peeing and pooing all over the floor and snapping at my own dog and others in the waiting room, I was displeased. Dont let dogs walk around freely unless they're actually friendly with other dogs! I do not trust anyone else with my pets. These Vets are all about your animals not what money they can squeeze out of you. They are one of the very few veterinary clinics that know about ferrets and I will not take my pets, (dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits) to any other vet. You may encounter a bit of a wait to see the vet during peak times, but so what? Take a book! It's either worth the wait to you or not. I have no idea what these people are on about with the bad reviews, I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. Professional, Caring & Experienced! After seeing 3 different vets who all misdiagnosed my 2yo staffys condition, simply assuming it was cancer and quoting $1000s in treatment plans. I was ready to say good-bye to him unable to afford the costs, until I was referred to Hanley Vets. Garys was initial diagnosis was confirmed by several tests (no other vets conducted) then after completing extensive treatment, brought him back to full health while considering my financial resources at the time. Saving Boon for the 1st time. The 2nd time was Cancer again fast action & experience means I still have my beloved staffy Boon today! My German Shepherd Axel is 7 years old and has skin allergies and joint problems and after seeing other vets for his problems he wasn't getting any better couldn't even go for a walk because he would limp badly and his medication wasn't working.5 years ago I was recommended to take him to Hanly Vet they are amazing they changed his diet and medication and now he runs around as if he is a puppy again. Took my dog there to get his nails clipped. After waiting almost an hour for the appointment, and having to deal with receptionists and vet nurses that obviously couldn't care less, I didn't even get his nails cut. After being asked to leave the room because it would 'calm him down' the vet and nurse called me back in less than 5 minutes later because he had started screaming when the vet grabbed his paw. Wondering if they pinned him down or something because he has NEVER gotten that upset about something.And the way they treated other people in the waiting room was shocking.
