I took my very old sick cat in Friday afternoon to Swan Veterinary Clinic with no appointment. She was seen very quickly and Dr David and his team were exemplary in their diagnosis of care of Ginger. Sadly she passed away from catastrophic kidney failure and cancer of the lymph nodes on the Sunday but that is beyond the control of the Clinic. I cannot praise Swan Veterinary Clinic enough for the attention, care, frequent communication and most professional approach that they gave our much loved Ginger - and all this was over a weekend when many surgeries are shut. Their prices were very very reasonable and no surcharges for the weekend. Thank you Swan Veterinary Clinic for what you did for Ginger. I have NEVER found a more caring, experienced, dedicated Vet any where.....This is the best vets hospital in WA. If you doubt me then visit them and see how the waiting rooms are almost always full of patients and over flowing out the door at times, but no one leaves even while full it does move through smoothly as there 2 to 3 vets on duty. There prices are very fare and cheaper than others, don't think this is why they flock there, Trust me it is the care and knowledge that is given to us all. Thank you all so very much. Read Less

Our family loves this practice our Dog Rambo needed ligament surgery all other places had either misdiagnosed or quoted us thousands and didn't seem concerned for our boy only the dollars. We were quoted between $3500 & $4500 for an op on our old girl. We were prepared to take out a loan to help her then someone mentioned we should try Swan. Ive been coming to this Vets for 20 years. Would not go anywhere else. Last week I lost my beautiful German Shepherd Max. Not only did they rush out to the car to try and save him but it was too late they gave me some quiet time with Max. One Nurse even put a flower behined his ear. They even let me go back with my daughter an hour later so she could say goodbye. They are amazing compassionate people. Yes you have to wait to see the Vet but thats because so many people take their animals to this Vet, they care about your pets and dont just look at you as a Dollar sign. Even though it was bad news (a tumour) they do us 'the anxious pet owners' an outstanding, affordable and compassionate service and that is not common when you're as flat out as these proffessionals. Warning! Do not use this vet for any operations on your animals. I've had to take not 1 but 2 of my pets to be operated on at different vets to fix their mistakes! Do yourself a favour and use a vet that is more experienced and does a proper job the first time. They may be cheap, but you will pay for it in the long run. We took our dog to Swan Veterinary clinic as she has been suffering for a long time with environmental allergies. We went to many vets but their advice/treatment just did not work. We were so stressed to say the least and so was our poor girl. We heard good reviews re: Swan Vet so we decided to give them a visit. We saw Dr David OMG the knowledge he has re: allergies we were/are very impressed!! David put iona on a new medication called Apoquel this medication worked basically straight away! Our family has been going to swan veterinary animal hospital since I can remember and I'm 48 this year. All our family pets have been treated by George and staff. David Hughes is the manager now and I've been seeing him for a few years now and he the most efficient vet other than George I have met. I took my 3 animals yesterday a chook & two dogs And he explained everything to do with each animal even telling me how the eggs are processed through the chicken, also telling me my 11 year old beagle still has a lot of muscle condition left . He has been working with my rescue dog that has had a temp for over 4 months now and we are slowly eliminating things it could be. He has even rang at different times to discuss things it could be with no charge for our phone conversations Swan vet maybe busy where your waiting over hour but that says how many customers they have ,some travel along way to see them because they are the best vet in the west.Read Less

Was in need of a cheap vet to take my cat to (living in Ellenbrook, such a thing does not exist!) and was referred to you guys. I was happy to see appointments weren't necessary. The wait was long, but the waiting room was as calm as it could be for a room with 15 or so dogs and a cat! The staff were all friendly, the doctor we saw worked quickly but thoroughly, making sure I was well informed on how to give needed medication and what to expect in terms of healing. I was charged less for my health care card, resulting in a $109 bill including medication, which I'm sure up in Ellenbrook would have set me back about $400 altogether. Read Less

Disappointed & Overcharged To say Im disappointed with Swan Vet is an understatement. I booked my female dog in for sterilisation because they were reasonably priced $260 including post operation check ups and stitches removal. I followed all advice to keep her quiet and indoors for a good recovery. 4 days after the operation I wasnt happy with how her stitches were healing so I took her in to be checked over. The vet took her temperature but didnt look at her stitches, he said she was fine and she would heal in the next few days. The next day she looked worse and I took her in again. They said she needed her internal stitches redone. When I picked her up they charged me a further $219, they had bandaged the area and told me to come in 2 days later for a further check up. When the bandage was removed I noticed they hadnt done the internal stitches at all and only removed the original stitches and cleaned the wound. Why they put my dog under another general anaesthetic to remove her stitches infuriates me. $480 was the total fee for her sterilisation. Thats what I paid at Swan Vet for bad service and an average job.Read Less

I know its weird, but our little girl gets car sick and still jumps into the car when she knows she is going to the vets! We have been taking her since she was a pup and she loves all the vets there. Recently, she has been diagnosed with Addison's and David & Nikita have been brilliant at narrowing it down so quickly. Bottom line is that we would take her someplace better and hang the money...if someplace better existed...but it doesn't. They are the best (and its always such a shock that its so reasonable)! Sooooo....in the end, do you want to go to the front of the line somewhere else, just to get charged more and not give your "fur-baby" the best available; or do you mind waiting a bit in line to make sure your little darling gets the best. In the 5-6 years we've taken her, we've never once considered any alternative. Read Less

The vets at Swan Veterinary Hospital are terrific and very compassionate! It's no wonder that my family has been attending, three generations now, since 1972. My daughter had a very unfortunate experience with her Siamese boy yesterday, and was in a great state of distress. She rushed him over to a vet practice in Yokine and the experience was diabolical for her and her distressed kitten. It was very apparent that money was the first and foremost issue on their minds, with the discussion centering around a barrage of tests and consultation fees. She was transferred from one institution only to be told that even though it was 5.45 p.m. she'd have to pay their inflated consult fee and then consult -'after hours' next door, after 6 p.m. at their very inflated fee. Hence 2 consult fees! She was prepared to pay, but after a phone discussion, decided to make the trip to Swan Vet Hospital where the kitten was kept overnight, fluids, antibiotics, consultation etc. for less than one consultation fee in Yokine! Being an animal lover, I fret for the poor pet owners who cannot afford the inflated fees and barrage of unnecessary testing done. Over 43 years we have never ever experienced this at Swan Vet. I have recommended them numerous times and without fail everyone has been very happy with the service. Thank you Swan Vet staff for the compassion and expertise. You come highly recommended. i love going to that place (the dogs don't).it's good to see so many people that care about their pets putting their animals first..last year a grass seed extracted from our whippet chihuahuas snout and this year a grass seed had just about disappeared behind our american bulldogs eardrum doctor ross got it just in time..extremely reasonable prices compared to some of the vets i've been to the staff are fantastic the girls do a great job..i know our dogs are grateful in their doggy way..highly recommended Read Less

This vet surgery is fantastic, end of story. There a few on here who complain that the wait time is too long as there are no booked appointments and its first in first serve...all I can say to this is, if that is a priority to you go the a inner city vet who charges 3 times as much and tries to sell you additional services etc. that are unnecessary, and that your pet doesn't need. These guys are great, and they have made going to a vets affordable for everyone, they are definitely not in it to make a buck like the other 99% of vets out there. Well done to the team! Read Less

Despite the owner/principal vet, George Huber, being probably the best known sight-hound vet in Perth, this clinic maintains reasonable prices, does not over prescribe and operates as a walk in clinic 7 days a week.They are busy during clinic hours (esp on weekends) but if you have an emergency, call ahead and they are likely to fit you in quickly. This vet doesn't take appointments, its pretty much just walk ins. It's always super busy and I've had to wait up to two hours at times. They do provide good service though and they do a lot of work with rescue groups. The vets all seem friendly and knowledgable however the receptionists run a bit got and cold. Read Less
