The experience from the first appointment to the last interaction has been very negative. Was disappointed with the total lack of customer service that was provided when trying to speak to the Vet about an ongoing health issue for my pet. Their responses on the phone were argumentative and combative in nature. Perhaps it all worked out for the best as I transferred to another local vet who were able to provide the level of care for our pet along with customer service that Wattle Gove Vet was unable to deliver. We have been taking our beautiful staffy to this veterinary hospital for at least 12years Ally was her name. The day she had to be put down we were treated terribly by the vet we had taken her to for a long long time and by the reception lady. We couldnt believe the response we got from these so called "Professional" people. In the end we took her to another vet who had to end her life that day. Positively we are so happy we took her to the other vet in the end because they were terrific to us and Ally. We were just both disgusted and disappointed with how they were with us. Read Less

A large and professional practice. I would have given 5 stars except it was very expensive. My pet python James Stimson got away and went behind the stove where he was electrocuted and received a large burn to his belly. I was referred here as they are the reptile specialists. They were not highly optimistic and were frank about their uncertainty but said they could still treat the burn and see if it would show signs of healing. I agreed, but said no heroics tho as I did not want unnecessary suffering for poor James. He was a bit of a sensation there I think, as I'm sure none of the vets had ever treated an electrical burn on a snake before. He was admitted and stayed for a week. Ca ching$$ He went home and his first dressing was pretty hopeless and fell off straight away ( I guess they don't teach how bandage a snake at vet school) so I had to return. Ca ching$$. The second design was much better but I still had several follow up visits for meds shots (can't give a snake a pill unless it's eating) and wound check up. Ca ching$$ They said he was the nastiest snake they ever cared for lol. I agree he loves to bite! I could have purchased 4 new snakes for the price of the bill but my pets are not a commodity to me. He recovered very well, can shed normally and only has some narrowing where the scar is, so no rats for meals! All in all a good experience. Read Less

I have been taking my 2 Sun Conures to Tim Oldfield for 9 years. Ra is a determined egg layer and this has compromised her health with calcium deficiencies and egg binding. Nug and Ra have had implants to discourage laying and avoid these problems for three years now - unfortunately Ra's didn't take last time and she ended up egg bound. Tim and the staff are brilliant. They really know and understand bird health and explain everything in terms I understand. They explain how to look after them and care about their patients as if they were their own. I honestly believe it is because of their teaching that I was able to recognise when Ra became egg bound and got her in before she became really sick. Tim was able to get her to pass the egg naturally and avoid surgery. If you are looking for someone to work with you to ensure the health of your birds - these guys are the best. Read Less

For many years, this veterinary hospital was wonderful. Not so anymore. The very young male vet on duty had not a clue how to clip our dog's nails and in turn severed a vein! Then, on another occasion, that same vet (who seemed to be the only vet working there) failed to administer our dog's yearly routine heartworm vaccine...leaving him vulnerable and at risk! We only found out that he hadn't received it, when we were sent a reminder. To say we were upset, is an understatement! Then to finish things off nicely, when contacted, the receptionist wasn't even apologetic. She couldn't have cared less! We now take our dog elsewhere. There's a large waiting room which is fabulous so there's plenty of space for humans and their pets. What this veterinary is especially known for is their avian vet services. It is spot on. I'm new to having a bird in my life and they put me at ease with what I'm doing so far. They gave me plenty of information on what to feed and how to keep my bird occupied when at work. I was amazed that my bird didn't screech the place down when the vet handled him to give him a look over.I also witnessed the concern and pastoral care the staff give to people when they have to say goodbye. A couple had their dog put to sleep and were understandably distraught. No one rushed them and they were given the information and contact numbers of a cremation service where things would be taken care of. It was confronting to see but this reassured me that I had found a good place to bring my bird. Read Less
