Apex Animal Clinic

First of all i am not a vet. So i like to ask many questiins to be as informed as possible. I did pre dental blood work there. That cost me over 300, and turns out My one dogs GGT level was 29 (a normal dogs is 3.) So i was asking questions about that, like should i be concerned putting him under, could it effect his liver. He then told me he wasnt touching my dog, until i pay 450 for an ultrasound, because i was acting "parnoid." He made me feel like i was bothing him, and pestering him, and straight up told me to go somewhere else if i wasnt comfortable....worst service ever. Anyone who goes there or has been there in the past knows the front desk day girl is um how do i put it nicely, rather scatter brained. So i asked (still considering taking my pets there for dental work) Your front desk girl doesnt help with putting pets under for surgerys does she...and he replied with "yes she helps give the anesthesia, and with the surgries, you get what you pay for, that is why i am so cheap. If you want to pay 1500 for an actual anesthesiologist go somewhere else and be comfortable" 😲 Like what the actul F***. I have been a client here for 6 or 7 years. Spent THOUSANDS of dollars her, and This is how i get talked to. And now i find out they have uncertified people helping with surgery, and putting pets to sleep...sick....i will never go back here again. People beware.! Read Less

Never again. Over the years we have taken our 2 cats and 2 dogs there. Our one dog needs special food which has to be ordered in. We have been doing this for a few years now. I ordered as normal and was phoned this morning to say it was in. My wife stopped in to pick it up within 3 hours of the call and was informed that it had been sold to someone else. My wife was told that the receptionist was instructed to sell it to anyone that came in looking for some. Why would we special order it if they are going to sell it to someone else? Not only did they lose the business for the dog food but they also lost any future business for any of our pets. There are too many places to choose from to have to deal with that kind of business practices. Read Less

The doctor and staff are super friendly and helpful and they always go the extra mile to make sure their furry patients are well taken care of. I always feel comfortable and reassured to bring my pets here. Read Less

Awesome service!! Ran here after my dogs eye was scratched by a cat and bleeding. My own clinic turned us away as they had other appointments. The Doctor was very nurturing and considerate of my dog and her pain. I would definitely return here. Thank you!! Read Less

I have been there a couple times now. The doctor is very kind and professional. He is understanding and tries to help your four legged family member. The front desk staff were very nice to my dogs and helpful during my visits. They also are very accommodating when I need to book a visit quickly. Read Less

Honest opinion, the receptionist is disorganized and not efficient which makes me think the whole organization is that way . I didn’t have a positive experience with the vets here, my experience was that they are cold towards the animals , and over all not positive . I would not recommend, it’s cheaper for a reason I think . Read Less

Oh dear god this place is a dump. When you walk into a medical facility and the floors are filthy, random gunk is on the walls, and they don’t even have base boards you should leave ASAP! This place was just plain bad. The vet didn’t even tell us who we were when he entered the room to look at our dog. It was unprofessional and disgusting. Never going here again. Read Less

Amazing place! I would recommend Apex to anyone looking for a vet. We took our new kitten here for all vaccinations, they were awesome. After her spay doc gave us his cell number in case if emergency. Incision is so tiny and neat, you can barely tell it happened. My kids accidentally squeezed her pain meds out of the syringe and they replaced them free of charge. Staff and doctors are true animal lovers. Just an all around fabulous vet and clinic! I have been so very impressed by the engaged and attentive care that my cats have received here and the prices have been a sweet relief compared to others in the area with fancier facilities that seem to come with complex, multi-dimensional billing. Everyone at Apex Animal Clinic is friendly, helpful, and very accommodating! We have been bringing both our dogs here for over a year now and love how they treat us and the dogs. They always give helpful advice and several different options when applicable. The price of medicine and services are definitely the best we have seen in vet clinics. We live in Calgary, but make the trip to Airdrie because they are such a great clinic! We highly recommend them! Read Less

Dr. Mattu did a great job removing 6 large lumps from my 11 year old Lab, cleaning his teeth and 2 fillings. He also saved my sons dog life. Three Vets later and hundreds of dollars later, Dr. Mattu diagnosed a 'Thyroid' problem that was causing the dog massive hair loss, elephant skin and a horrible smell. He was literally on his last legs when he went to Dr Mattu after 2 years of trying to figure out his problem. Now, he's on the mend thanks to Dr Mattu, we're all forever grateful! Great spot! We were paying a ton at another place on unnecessary fees and tests so we switched to Apex and have been going there for the last 3 years. The vet there is awesome, professional and personable, and helped our one dog through a bunch of bladder issues without breaking the bank. We can always get an appointment right away if it's important. Our dogs have had multiple issues along the way but the Apex staff was always good to us and gave us affordable options for treatment. We had to take our beautiful 15 year old lab today to be put to sleep and I can't thank the people enough for their sensitivity on a extremely difficult day. They were fantastic and so empathetic and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted to with our beautiful girl. I would give 0 stars if it were possible. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. My dad and I took our beloved old cat to be put down here. This was extraordinarily painful enough without the unprofessionally we encountered here. The secretary had her kid running around the office and at one point, while we were in a room holding our kitty as she took her last breath, the woman barges in the room and angrily says "my kid doesn't need to see this" and slams the door. She was also wearing a ratty, Ed Hardy hoody. VERY unprofessional. I was so upset with the cat and the sedative had already been given to her or else I would have grabbed her and ran out. It was a horrifying and disgusting experience. They made us feel as if we were idiots for being upset about our animal being put down and like we were bothering them by being there. The whole situation haunts me to this day and that took place in 2013. Please, avoid this place.Read Less
