I brought in my 3 month old pup for vaccinations. The puppy had a well pet exam which consists of taking his weight listening to his heart and asking me a few questions about eating habits and bowel movements. That exam took 5 minutes and cost $72.00. If the puppy was having any issues I would have told the vet. I was then told that I would have to return in 4 weeks for my puppy’s rabies vaccine, he was to young to receive it. I did return for the rabies vaccine. The vet asked the same questions about appetite and bowel movements, I gave the same answers as 4 weeks earlier. This “exam” took 2 minutes. My pup received his rabies and I received another $72:00 well pet exam charge. When I questioned the charge I was told for vaccinations and boosters, regardless of time between shots they conduct the well pet exam. I own multiple animals and livestock. I guess taking advantage of me for $72.00 is more important to this vet than my future visits for my 3 dogs, 4 cats etc. I think it’s time to standup to small animal veterinarians and the outrageous prices they collectively charge. I can have a horse gelded cheaper then I can have a male German Shepard spayed. Read Less

Meow, Squeak E here, just wanted to let you know about my recent visit to Banded Peak Veterinary Hospital. Im a mature svelte DSH who was lucky to be adopted a few years ago despite my many years of life experiences. I have been living indoors with another mature adoptee that joined the household a few years ago. My kidneys started to fail me a couple of years back and thats how I lost a lot of weight but more recently I have lost some more so mom made an appointment with Dr. Samson. I wasnt to keen on it as Im not a big fan of crates, car rides and too many new smells but I sucked it up and didnt make too big of a fuss. The nice thing was assoon as I arrived they weighed me and then we went right into an exam room I didnt have to worry about strange animals giving me the once over. It wasn't but a minute and Dr. Samson entered the room and mom took me out of the crate and I got some pets and scratches under the chin. Dr. Samson then listen to my heart/lungs and did some tummy squeezes, looked in my mouth and then one of the most indignant things ever she took my temperature and talking from back there! Then there was human blah blah blah and I heard a buzzing sound and next thing I know Ive had a bit of a shave! The nice assistant held me while the doctor poked my neck with a needle and took some of my blood. I guess they decided to check my blood right away and I got to go back into my crate and waited like 10 minutes and then doctor was back in the room with my results sweet. We didnt have to drive all the way home to find out I needed to come back for more of a work up, momdidnt even have time to worry. This time I guess it showed that my thyroid is over active so I have to have some medicine smeared on my ear, thank god its not a pill; you know how hard we have to work at avoiding having anything shoved down our throats. Doctor Samson gave mom this cool Hills starter kit with some new moist and dry food to help me and my thyroid. I love it when we have new food. I just wanted to share my trip to Banded Peak Vet Hospital with you and tell you that I would highly recommend them with 4 paws up! Read Less
