I brought in my 18 month dog because it had some mediocre stomach pains, the staff was energetic and the customer service was blistering, as it was a very quick process to get him into the back to be given the Meds. They had him for a few hours and after that they gave us some Meds from a fairly cheap pharmacy in the NW near the Veterinarian Clinic so it was quick and fairly fast. Could not be happier with the service I got there, the staff was also amazing in their work and took great care of my dog and all at a cheaper price than the other clinics in the area. 10/10 Would recommend. Last week, my dog started to become uninterested in food and was coughing on and off. At first, we though he may have a dental problem but the refusal to eat food and the coughing and gagging was very concerning so we booked an appointment at this clinic to have the doctor take a look at his teeth and run some tests to see if something else could be wrong. I was able to get him an appointment this past Saturday, September 12, and the doctor came in, had ME open his mouth and looked from across the room and said “yes, he needs scaling and possibly more. We’re the cheapest in town for this service.” Please bear in mind, he did not even come close to my small dog, so he couldn’t possibly have seen his mouth properly. I mentioned the fact that he has been refusing food and has been coughing and gagging several times and he told me he’s fine, it’s just his teeth. My dog was distressed but they said they would take blood work and proceeded to hand me a muzzle for him, which I completely understand. My dog was so stressed and when the nurse took him, she actually dropped him on the counter, hitting his head. I asked her to please hold him under his bum so she doesn’t drop him again. 5 minutes later they bring him back and tell me they’ll give pain meds and antibiotics. I asked them why, and they told me ‘for pain and infection’. When I questioned them and asked how they could know that he has an infection, when they didn’t even do an exam, they told me it was preventative. I also noted that with him refusing to eat it might be very difficult to give him a syringe full of medicine into him twice a day and they didn’t seem to care. They charged me $200 for the vet to not even touch my animal and take some blood and basically hurried me out the door and told me they would call me in a couple of days with the blood test results. Fast forward to today, Monday, and my dog was worsening in His condition. My mom, being very concerned, after trying to get him to eat and drink for the last day. She called the vet as soon as they opened ask the test for the test results, which she was told they did not have yet, and booked an appointment to bring him in as soon as they could take him this morning. She brought him in, saw the same vet, and my poor, suffering dog was giving a brief exam. The same doctor that saw him this past Saturday checked his temperature, listened to his heart, and said he was “just fine” and that, again, they would call us with the results of the blood test when they got them later this evening. As soon as my mom got him home, he was lethargic and would not move. She tried to give him water via syringe which is what this horrible, negligent doctor suggested and so, my mom called the vet again and told him what was going on and they assured her that he was fine and nothing was physically wrong with him, that he was just “stressed”. My mom had decided to take him to emergency since the Bddnington animal clinic would not seem to hear or care that something was very wrong with our dog. I called again and asked for the blood test results as my mom was getting ready to take him to emergency and was told the blood tests were fine, he was fine, and that the coughing and the not eating was likely due to, you fucking guessed it, STRESS. Within 30 minutes my dog was DEAD on the floor of my mothers kitchen, in her arms. Please tell me how TWO visits to this doctor being able to see that something was not right initiate enough concern for this incompetent doctor to tell us to take him to emergency THIS MORNING WHEN SOMETHING MY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE DONE???!!! Now, my 9 year old puppy, who was healthy up until a few short days ago is dead and I spent my night at a real HUMANE veterinary clinic picking out urns for my FAMILY MEMBER! The most important thing to note is that my mother and myself, in two separate vet visits and 4 phone calls, expressed great concern and we were not listened to. We were treated with disrespect and treated as an annoyance and now, our beautiful Dexter, is gone forever. First thing in the morning, I am contacting a lawyer to see what, if anything, I can do to prevent this clinic from ever treating a helpless animal again and a very thorough complaint is being submitted to the ABVMA as I believe with my whole heart that this man should NEVER TREAT OR TOUCH AN ANIMAL EVER AGAIN. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR SICK ANIMALS TO THIS MAN. I AM BEGGING YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE, EVEN IF IT COSTS MORE. I will never get my beloved dog back. Read Less

Worst vet experience I've ever had.  Not only did they call and cancel 20 mins before my appointment to rebook later in the day because " the vet wouldn't be there "  but we got there and we had to wait around 20 mins.  Thrown in a room.  Vet comes in 10 mins later and roughly grabs my cat after I just finished saying he was scared of people. Stuck some shots in him. Barely talked to me. I asked questions about his ear which right now he's scratched to the point of bleeding.  Jams a qtip down his ear as my cat is so scared he's shaking uncontrollably. Says "see nothing's there". Shoving this qtip in my face. I would assumed that a vet would ask questions about a stray, check over his body with a quick physical.  Instead of rushing us and wouldn't let me get in a question.    Very unprofessional, I felt VERY rushed and absolutely no concern for any animals well being. Not worth spending the money here for your fur baby. Read Less

My vet of 30 years retired. So very sad so I had to find a new vet for my five-year-old Yorky Poo. After asking around and phoning I called Beddington Trail animal Hospital I wanted to have his teeth cleaned and possibly settle in with them as my regular vet. They gave me a reasonable price of around $500 including the blood test before surgery. Compared to other prices around the city this was very reasonable. I had to wait a month for the specialist to have an appointment. This is a little unusual in my experience but not a problem. When I brought him in it was done and he was in good shape when I picked him up. I never met the dental surgeon. A few weeks after his dental work I was taking care of a friends dog and my little guy gashed his head maybe on a nail under my deck. I called and was told I could bring him in but if it required stitches I would have to go to the emergency clinic. He was bleeding profusely so I rushed over there and Doctor B. Saw him and cleaned the wound cut the fur and gave him pain meds and an antibiotic shot. He had me make an appointment to see the surgeon 48 hours later. The only thing I find unusual is that this clinic does not seem to have a surgeon on staff. I don't know if that specialist works elsewhere or they just can't get someone in on a regular basis. My dog was well treated, kindly and I was reassured when they were cleaning his wound. As for the surgery they put in five stitches and he was ready to come home.I'll come back for regular care but know they keep prices down by moving patients along quickly. Read Less

I would not reccomend beddington vet for any surgeries. My dog had a few teeth removed and then needed the same procedure from a better vet a few months later when she still had a tooth infection. There is no garentee or compensation that they will get the job done right. They are cheaper than most vets but I feel like they make up for it by advising extra tests and medication that is not needed. They duped me twice where I knew it was unnecessary but agreed because the vet was pressuring me. Never going back there Read Less

The vet and staff were very friendly and great with both our dogs. The only thing that we noticed was that they somehow got confused about us bringing in both our dogs for their annual exam and shots, they thought it was just one. Also they were confused and thought that both dogs were due for their rabies shot when it was just one of them due for that shot this year, and our other dog is due for it next year. They were very good about this and all was well and both our furkids are up to date now with all their shots and are in good health! We definitely will continue to go to Beddington and thank you to the wonderful vets there for the great care! Read Less

What a great veterinarian. They are very nice and informative. They also have the most reasonable prices I've ever found for a vet in the city. The clinic is clean and bright and offers the typical foods and treats that most vets do. They are located just off Beddington Trail, which is a fair jaunt for us to get to, but with how competitive they are with pricing it was worth the drive. We brought our two puppies in to have their blood taken as we intend to get their teeth cleaned here. They are open Saturdays from September until end of spring, but through the summer they are only open weekdays. Read Less

This is the most decently priced vet clinic near me. My entire family comes here for our vet needs. I recently came here to get my dog neutered for about $240. Everything went as planned, however, his e collar (cone) was not fitted properly and still allowed him to lick his wound. This was a measurement error on the vet's part and unfortunately, we did not get a refund for the e collar, not was it exchanged for a better size. Each time you come here, there's a $45 examination fee. My dog needed 3 shots total, each cost $15. When added together, each visit cost $60. This is pretty cheap compared to other clinics, I'd definitely recommend this place. They also have jars of dog and cat treats at the front desk so don't forget to grab your fur-children a treat. My fiance and I brought our yellow lab in when she was only 3 and a half months old. She had discharge coming from her vaginal area. We took her in because we were obviously concerned. The breeder has never had this problem with the pups, because we made sure to talk to her on that also. Breeder was 100% trustworthy. We have told the vet what was going on. The only diagnose he did at this time was squeeze her area, see some mucus and right away jumped to conclusions. He scared the living hell out of us and said if we don't take out all her reproductive organs that the mucus will build up and burst and she will die. May I remind you, she was only 3 and a half months. Doing this would have given her major problems down the road. He then proceeds to say that if you book now, I will give you a bit of a deal. So without a proper diagnose, and proper inspection, he wanted to put our girl under and give her long term problems. He saw how much we cared, and were willing to do anything and was going to take advantage of our love. We were terrified. We were calling family, friends, googling this. And what he said she had, usually occurs in older females, not babies. We, thankfully, thought about it and booked her in at a different clinic in crowfoot to get a second opinion. Where they gave her a full physical, several tests, to find out she just needed some prescription. She was good after a short amount of time and has been a healthy little baby girl since. Please do not go to this place. All they care for is to take your money. Read Less

One night as I climbed into bed I noticed my 4 years old mini dachshund was super swollen and puffy all around her snout and throat. As any dog owner out there I completely freaked out she might suffocate. Searching nearby open vet clinics at 2 am brought me with beddington as my only option. I called them with all the panic in my voice and had a pleasantly calm receptionist explain to me that I do need to bring her, with any documents I have for her as soon as possible. She even gave me directions. I came in on the verge of tears, and while I am normally calm I couldn't possible be when I was horrified my dog might suffocate. The receptionist handed me papers to fill out and immediately asked to take my dog into the back area for an exam. By the time the papers were done she came out, told me the vet is already with her and everything will be fine. Within 5 min I was taken to a room and then the vet came in with her. She was fine being with the vet, and he had a pleasant and calm demeanour. He explained thoroughly and answered all my questions. He even suggested we stay for 30 min just to make sure the swelling was truly going down. As most people I was sure a a middle of the night emergency visit was gonna cost me ridiculous money. NOPE it was only 200. I was in shock, because my pup was fine but so was my wallet, and I don't feel like this was a "you get what you pay for" scenario because me and my pet had great service! This is the third time we have come to this clinic now, the first 2 times were to have our dogs teeth cleaned. Today we went for their annual check up. Each time we have seen a different vet, and I can honestly say I have never warmed to any of them or been too impressed. Today we waited 30 minutes to see the vet, about 15 minutes in the waiting room/front of the clinic and the second 15 minutes in the examination room. Neither of us wanted to sit on any of the chairs they had as they were so covered in fur. Understandably it's a veterinary clinic where a lot of furry animals pass through but perhaps chairs that are not cloth would be a better option. After waiting in the examination room for 15 minutes I had to step out for some fresh air as the scented plug-in that was in this small confined space was making me feel ill. The vet finally arrived; never bothering to introduce himself or apologize for the wait. We simply got a "who's first?". Listening to our girl dogs heartbeat, checking her eyes and ears, taking her temperature and then giving her vaccine he then moved onto our boy dog. Not once did he feel either of them over for lumps/bumps, ensuring their bones felt okay, feeling for funny things happening with joints...nothing. He then proceeded to stuff a human sized tongue depressor in their mouths to check their teeth. Not pulling back their cheeks to have a good look, rather I did that to show him it was okay to do so. I would have expected that part of the annual exam is to take a good look over them, discuss their weight, nutrition requirements, exercise routines with us, especially as our dogs are starting to get a little older and are on the pleasantly plump side. None of this was ever touched on, and we shouldn't have to set expectations that this will be part of the examination, considering we are paying clients. And lastly there wasn't an ounce of bedside manner, never talking to the dogs to calm them down as they were anxious and stressed. He simply wanted to get in and get out and on to the next customer. Didn't seem like this vet loved animals, but more of a money making business. The positive thing about this clinic is that their prices are very reasonable. But I guess you get what you pay for. If you come here expect to push the vets to get the kind of care/attention that you are requiring. Read Less

I took my dog there because of issues with accidents in the house and a general feeling she was 'off.' I did some general research in her symptoms before I went in and knew she would likely need a blood test and urinalysis. The vet didn't even look at her. He drew blood and then I had to insist they test a urine sample. He spoke to me for a minute maybe telling me all the bad things that could be wrong with her and then left. No chance to ask questions or anything. I spoke to the receptionist on the way out and she promised they would call me the next day. So thoroughly freaked out I called at noon the next day to see if the results were in and they were but the doctors were busy and would call me an hour. No call. I waited until 5 pm and no call so I called them again. Once again doctors would call before the end of the day. Still nothing so I called 15 minutes before they closed and the vets had left for the day. The receptionist promised they would call first thing in the morning. So an hour after they open the next day nothing. I call them and even the receptionist is like 'they haven't called you yet?" So she goes and puts the phone in his hand. He is reading the results as he is on the phone with me, he hasn't even looked at them. Remember this is something that could be life altering for my dog, he told me so himself in our two minutes together. So he finishes reading the results and goes her protein is a bit low. She probably has a parasite. You should get her dewormed. Except I did get her dewormed a month ago in my appointment with you at your clinic. The vets response, oh well it's probably nothing then. I'm like fine. I hang up, immediately google the highest rated clinic near my house and tell them My dog's issues. They get her in that day and have her results forwarded from Beddington. This vet notices right away something is wrong with her kidneys. She does a blood pressure test and it's through the roof. After a referral to care we found she had a potentially fatal adrenal tumour. I'm waiting for my appointment with the oncologist now and I don't know how it's going to turn out but at least I can try and help her. If I listened to Beddington she would likely be dead in a short amount of time with me never knowing anything was wrong with her. So I guess the moral of the story is you get what you pay for, and Beddington is really, really cheap. Read Less

We had a great experience with our 14 year old cocker spaniel in getting his teeth cleaned here. His teeth were pretty bad and we didn't know if he had much pain - apparently you don't know for sure with dogs. I had an estimate from another animal hospital who told me it would be between 2 and 3 thousand dollars. At 14, and not having that kind of money easily available, that was a very difficult decision. A friend told me to try Beddington and I'm so glad I did. It was a few hundred dollars, rather than thousands. The vet was great, very calm and helpful. Our dog recovered quickly from the procedure and back to himself within a day or two. I highly recommend this clinic. I would hate to see someone have to make a different decision with their pet because of costs. The only advice I would give this clinic is to help their staff be friendly. They weren't unkind, but they could be more welcoming. Read Less

I've been a pet owner for 10 months now and I had chosen this vet because of the positive reviews and affordability. In my short time as one of their clients, I've had a number of issues. My dog had some stomach issues, so I brought him in and they gave him some medications, including a shot for deworming. I was also told to buy 2 cans of GI food. This visit cost me several hundred dollars, and after I paid, I went outside and scanned the receipt. They had charged me for 2 cases of the GI food, so I went back in and they weren't able to give me a refund, so I got credit onto my account. I got into my car and my fiance (a pharmacist) took a look at the receipt and noticed that instead of the deworming shot, they had put antidepressants on the receipt, which would've affected future insurance claims because my dog would've been tagged as "depressed". So again, we went back in, only to find out that the receipt can't be fixed until the manager was in, so they'd contact me when they fixed it. Well they never did contact me, so it took several weeks for me to keep contacting them. In the end, it couldn't get fixed, and I guess they don't manually write receipts (guess they don't have downtime procedures in the event the their computers go down). Thinking that that was just the odd bad experience, I've decided to give them another chance. My dog just turned 1 year old, and being an inexperienced dog owner, I called them to ask if there was anything I need to do vaccination-wise. The vet tech said, with confidence, that I should bring him in for his annual physical and shots and that there was an opening later that day, so I brought my dog in. We went into the exam room and were told that he actually wasn't due for his shots for another 3 months. So we went all the way to the vet for no reason. I feel like frequency of vaccinations should be common knowledge for vet techs and I don't really want to be wasting my time or their time with unnecessary vet visits.I'm really not sure if I'll stick with this vet, as they don't seem to have the most knowledgeable staff, but the affordability is definitely a plus. I would suggest other clients to check their receipts every time to make sure that everything is correct. Read Less

My small 5 pound Yorkie's baby canine teeth never fell out!  He seemed uncomfortable and started scratching his puffy inflamed lip so I took him in to his usual vet (not bedington)!  They explained that to remove these two teeth the cost would be around $1200!!! OUCH!! so that's when I started to look for a new vet! After seeing great reviews for bedington animal hospital I made an appointment! The cost was less than $200 and he seems to be doing great!  The only difference is my last vet called to follow up and see how he woukd be doing and these guys didnt. Still, such a great price. This clinic is acceptable and affordable for teeth cleaning and extraction. Anything more serious DONT GO HERE!! My dog had bladder stones removed 10 days ago. Complications began with blood clots and have progressed to now he is violently vomiting. This clinic has informed me that there is nothing further that they will do? I was told to "Go to the emergency clinic"!! I was led to believe that their charge was half of what I would pay elsewhere, not true. I just came from another clinic in Chaparral who would have charged the same amount. I feel mislead, unsupported and violated. I will lose my fur child over thisRead Less

I signed up on yelp just to be able to write this review. Absolutely amazing! 5 stars just doesnt cut it. They are very polite and helpful when you go in. They never over charge (I might even call it under charging in some instances). Additionally, I've never been recommended (guilted) into testing/medications/etc that my dog didnt need. When I went in for teeth cleaning, they didnt require a preliminary exam (and the exra fee attached) and then they charged about 1/5 of the other quote I had received (and that one I had to pay about $100 to be told how much it would cost). They truly care about the animals they care for. The facilities aren't glamourous (white walls rather than colors with stone accents) but then, they dont have to fund the ritz and it shows. Cannot recommend highly enough, especially for people who want the best health for their pets on the best budget. Nothing sacrificed going there. Read Less

Where do I even start?  I own an animal based business and been in the industry for 14 years which means I know my way around vets who act like used car salesmen trying to up-sell the crap out you; like suggesting $5000 knee surgery because your dog has a cough.  This clinic has restored my faith that vets that actually care more about your animal than your wallet didn't end when Dr. Torrence retired!I had some serious health issues with a dog I fostered (okay, failed miserably at fostering!) and my bill after complete exam including eye exam, blood and urine analysis, antibiotics,  full chest X-ray, which the vet spent a good half hour explaining and the cost of having a specialist view the x-rays was wait for it.....  around $300!!Every time I go there I never feel rushed and the vets don't seem like you're wasting their time asking questions and are more than willing to always suggest the least invasive and least expensive routes of treatment before jumping into the operating room.My pets are my family and I would move the moon and stars to keep them healthy and having a vet that doesn't take advantage of that is worth its weight in gold! My long time vet retired and I accidentally overheard a conversation on how great this vet clinic was.  The pricing is reasonable and fair as most other vet clinics way over charge. We have had our dog in and she was treated brilliantly! We used to see Dr. Ron Torrence and he was amazing, no nonsense and a total straight shooter who didn't inflate the treatment costs because he knew that pet lovers would pay. Well this clinic is very reasonable and honestly they appear to be honestly concerned with animal welfare. I do believe that we have found a new vet, one who is not going to gouge us and someone who knows how important our pets are. Dr. Atta is awesome I seriously can't say enough good about him! If you're like me, your cats or dogs (in my case cats ) are like my kids. I love them, and always want the best for them.  Recently my usual vet had informed me that my cat Boo needed to have her teeth professionally cleaned and possibly have a tooth extracted. She warned me that this will cost well over thousand dollars. She sent me a quote from another veterinarian and it was $1100. I spoke to another vet, and was quoted $1600.  Needless to say, I was upset. I would never ever choose money over my cats. I will always do the best for them. That said I started to look for. a  vet that would  be able to provide me the services at a reasonable cost. After doing some research, I came across the Beddington Trail animal hospital. I emailed them, and asked for a rough idea on cost. They told me that to clean my cats teeth would be $200. This would involve the usual anesthesia as cats always have to be fully asleep for this procedure, as well as pain medications antibiotics physical exam and if needed x-rays would be additional. I couldn't quite believe the cost!I was told by that, assistant, that they pride themselves on doing good work at reasonable cost, and truly care. It's worth noting that in the United Statescat dental  cleaning is also roughly $200. I don't understand why it is so expensive here in Canada. After reading nothing but positive reviews on rate my vet.com for the Beddington Trail animal  hospital, I decided to take my cat there on the weekend.  The veterinary assistant I believe  hername was Melanie was absolutely wonderful to deal with. She understood that I was nervous about leaving my cat, I'm a bit of a suck  with my kitties. She was friendly, explained everything I needed to know, and assured me that my kitty would be just fine. I received a phone call from the vet after my cats procedure was over. Explaining that she did very well, and asked me if I had any questions.  When it went pick up my cat several hours later, as I have to let the anesthesia wear off he came out and chatted with me about the procedure and how it went once again. Very very nice to deal with. The total cost for all of this was just $250.I was sent home with aftercare instructions and antibiotics for my little kitty. Overall, my experience with this veterinarian was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others. Read Less

Read Less

We have been shopping around for a vet since moving and since our old vet retired and this is the place! The clinic is clean and the staff is awesome! Read Less
