I am so thankful to have Veterinarian, Dr Kurt Weissenborn look after my pets. He has taken good care of them and given me good advice. My 17 year old cat Willow has been declining especially over the last year with kidney problems and weight loss. I had to make the difficult decision to end her life given her decline & discomfort. Dr Kurt was so supportive and understanding throughout not pushing me toward unrealistic investigations and procedures given her age. He allowed me to take the time and when we were ready he asked no questions but supported us through the process. The process is difficult at the end for the pet owner. It breaks your heart. Dr Kurt was so calm and gentle with Willow despite the stressful situation. He reassured me that I was a good pet owner and should not feel guilty as I did. Later I called him for further debriefing after the event reflecting on and explaining the cats reaction medically. I was over personalizing as part of my grieving. He told me to call anytime. Thank you Dr. Kurt.

Today I called Braeside Veterinary Clinic to find out more information on the End of Life process and costs associated for my dog. I was asked a basic question right from the start as to how old my dog was, I mentioned that she is six years old and weighed 73 Lbs. The gentleman very rudely asked why I wanted to put her down, I told him that she is terminally ill with cancer. He then asked who diagnosed her, I told him Care animal clinic. He said then, they should be dealing with this. Very unprofessional at a very stressful time. If I could give a zero I would. This was a recommended vet through the Pet Cremation Care site, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for support when you are losing a beloved pet.

** DO YOUR RESEARCH... OVER VACCINATES PETS**
When choosing a vet clinic for your pet please do your research. We were fortunate enough to have a puppy rehomed to us. She came with all her vaccination records and were told she was due for her next set of shots early February. This vet is across the city from us but we decided to bring her to the same place she had been going before to keep her records consistent. Upon arriving here we had to wait for 30+ minutes due to a booking error. Okay this is fine, I work at a doctors office I know things can run late. My one year old needed to use the washroom and we were led to the back through the area where they perform surgeries and I was completely appalled at the cleanliness of this place. It's an utter disaster and I truly think performing any procedures in this place would be an outright sanitary disaster. I reminded myself we were only here for vaccinations and would switch her vets closer to home after. Then the vet comes in and tells us she will be due for another vaccine in August and again next year. I found this strange as I had previously researched that after the first series of vaccines they were good for at least a year. I questioned the vet but he assured me it was just to "boost immunity". I trusted him. At this point my puppy had vaccines for Parvo done November, December, January, and now February... and he wanted her to come back in August for yet another Parvo. All research shows (and confirmed with multiple vet clinics around Calgary) That puppies only need THREE doses of the Parvo initially.. Why is this vet recommending FIVE in the first year? Unfortunately I think money is the motivator here and I'm not willing to over vaccinate my dog and put her at risk so this vet can make an extra buck.. Unfortunately his "table side" manner wasn't great either as he felt the need to make multiple comments about my husbands tattoos and didn't even properly assess my dogs health.... I called this vet to follow up after my research and he could not offer one reason why he is over vaccinating pets except to "boost immunity". Not one other vet clinic recommends this "strategy" and the vet himself acknowledges that even the vaccine company doesn't recommend this dosing protocol.. Please do your research when choosing a vet, Unfortunately I think he has made a name in the community and people come out of convenience without questioning him. You are your pets advocate.

Best Vet Experience Ever!
Our dog is very nervous and Dr Weissenborn's patience and kindness resulted in a fantastic experience. Other vet clinics have suggested the need for our dog to be sedated prior to an exam ... the doctor's clear love and care for animals was all that was required for our dog to get an exam at this clinic. Highly recommended, we will most certainly be going back.

The woman who answered the phone immediately voiced her disapproval at the fact we have not yet had her spayed. I hung up. I didn't have time to argue with some ludicrously judgmental person. What a ridiculous way to treat potential new clients! By the way, I called four other clinics, saying exactly the same thing, and every single one of them was friendly and provided the information concerning costs and appointment availability.
I'm leaving this review so that perhaps the vet sees it and becomes aware that this person has this attitude with callers, and is losing him or her new patients.

Right before our trip to the US we realized one of our dog's rabies vaccines had expired. We called around all over the city with NO luck and finally were able to get an appointment here for 15 mins after we called.
They were very accommodating, nice, informative and provided us immunization records and health certificate letters. The vet was very gentle with both dogs and made sure to get us in and out in a short period of time.
We truly appreciate all the help and love places that do not over complicate things but simply provide great customer service!

I won't and don't trust my pets to anyone else. Dr.Weissenborn is so gentle, attentive and compassionate with the pets. We recently moved to the other side of the city but still remain loyal clients because of the care and attention given. Thank you for always being there for us, it really does help ease the stress when dealing with our pets health issues when they arise. Anytime anyone is looking for a vet I always recommend Braeside.

I am so thankful to have Veterinarian, Dr Kurt Weissenborn look after my pets. He has taken good care of them and given me good advice. My 17 year old cat Willow has been declining especially over the last year with kidney problems and weight loss. I had to make the difficult decision to end her life given her decline & discomfort. Today I called Braeside Veterinary Clinic to find out more information on the End of Life process and costs associated for my dog. I was asked a basic question right from the start as to how old my dog was, I mentioned that she is six years old and weighed 73 Lbs. When choosing a vet clinic for your pet please do your research. We were fortunate enough to have a puppy rehomed to us. Best Vet Experience Ever!
Our dog is very nervous and Dr Weissenborn's patience and kindness resulted in a fantastic experience. Other vet clinics have suggested the need for our dog to be sedated prior to an exam ... the doctor's clear love and care for animals was all that was required for our dog to get an exam at this clinic. Highly recommended, we will most certainly be going back.

Right before our trip to the US we realized one of our dog's rabies vaccines had expired. We called around all over the city with NO luck and finally were able to get an appointment here for 15 mins after we called.
They were very accommodating, nice, informative and provided us immunization records and health certificate letters. The vet was very gentle with both dogs and made sure to get us in and out in a short period of time.
We truly appreciate all the help and love places that do not over complicate things but simply provide great customer service!

I won't and don't trust my pets to anyone else. Dr.Weissenborn is so gentle, attentive and compassionate with the pets. We recently moved to the other side of the city but still remain loyal clients because of the care and attention given.
