Very happy we were connected with Dr. Radics. Our dogs love her and I trust that she cares about each patient. The appointment was not rushed and I felt like she was giving her full attention to our dog. She took extra time beyond our appointment to research medical concerns and got back to me with her findings as well as a thorough plan for any future incidents. When popping by with our newly adopted puppy (no appointment- I just to familiarize with the office for future visits), we were greeted warmly, welcomed & encouraged to pop by anytime. I was unimpressed following a referral for my puppy to be taken to the emergency clinic based on a particular diagnosis that wasn't correct. Due to other possibilities not being communicated we, in turn, ended up following the vet's recommendations based on the only diagnosis provided and spending quite a great deal extra to cover unnecessary fees and services at the emergency clinic. We were told at the emergency clinic that it wasn't necessary to have that service performed; however, just the exam fees and initial tests at the clinic were in the hundreds of dollars, so we had the service done anyways, as the total cost leading up to it was fairly substantial and tacking on the service was almost negligible. Not impressed ! I work too many hours a week and have trouble finding time to get to the vet . Eva, my 5 year old Labradoodle gets "itchy ears" every year or so. Canine Companion has been good in the past and we buy all of our dog food from them. This Saturday I finally made my way there an hour or so before closing time at noon. I asked to have some of the drops for her ear that we had bought from them before. After the front counter lady checked with the vet I was told they could not supply the drops for legal/liability reasons as it had been over a year since the vet had seen her. I told her Eva was shaking her head often with the discomfort of her occasional "itchy ears". I suggested that the drops were not for a serious ailment and that the dogs best interests should come first over what I perceived to be an excuse for a full examination. A cash grab perhaps? I bought some drops at the pharmacy for a persons ear problem and they seem to be working. I'm looking for a more compassionate vet. . . . Read Less

They only charge you money with no help for the dogs. Also they put you through insurance as TRUPANION, that don't cover nothing. They only wants your money. Please all of you stay away from this vet clinic in Marda Lopp. This vet Daniela, said that my dog has cancer,,,,I can't explain so much stupidity in vet in Calgary, Unbelievable. I just wrote a Google review for the great experience we had with our dog Peach at the Care Centre, and realized that I never got around to writing one for our dogs vet, Canine Companion. This is shameful on my part for not taking the time sooner because I can say with complete confidence that this is the best vet in the entire city. Three years ago, I took our first dog, Bowser, to three vets before (easily) deciding Canine Companion. Our dogs are like our kids and it was very important to us that they get the best possible care.I have gone to Canine Companion around 60 times over the past 3 years between our two English Bulldogs (Bowser and Peach), as Bulldogs are prone to various health issues. And with Bulldogs, when something is wrong, it literally happens overnight. No matter how busy Canine Companion has been, whenever I've had concerns about Bowser or Peach, they've always squeezed them in on very short notice.Every single time we've gone to Canine Companion, myself, my fiance and our dogs are treated like family. Bowser gets so excited when it's time to go to the vet, and Peach is always so happy to see the Canine Companion Team once she's there. That speaks volumes because 99% of dogs dread going to the vet, but those dogs don't go to Canine Companion. Dr. Mclean, Dr. Hill, Lorraine and Chris will treat your dog as if they are there own. They are very experienced and knowledgeable. Allison and Charlotte in reception are so friendly as well. Peach was very sick when she was 6 months old, and would not be alive today without Dr. Mclean. Peach is such a special dog - it would have been such an enormous loss. I can't emphasize enough how good Canine Companion is. Everyone I have personally referred to Canine Companion have all been amazed by how well their dogs are treated and how good they are at resolving their dogs issues. Even if you live on the other side of the city, Canine Companion is well worth the drive. They will go above and beyond for your dog each and every time. Just book an appointment and see for yourself. You'll be so happy that you did :) Read Less

I highly recommend this clinic. Dr. McLean is so caring. She truly wants your pets to be healthy and she is empathetic and has great advise and will go above and beyond for your dog and you for that matter. Unfortunately at the time we did not quite have the funds to do absolutely everything for our little guy that we wish we could of (seeing a neurological specialist would of been amazing but just not possible at the time). Now, we've moved to the U.S. And have had to visit the vet a couple of times. The first time was an emergency and a disaster!!! I called the clinic and Dr. McLean took the time to give me some advice and meds for our dog and we agreed that we would not be visiting this vet again. Our poor guy has bad teeth, so we took him to a different vet in the city (he came recommended) and a total disaster again. My poor guy is still not back to his happy self. If you are lucky enough to be able to go to this clinic you should. If I could afford it I would fly back to Calgary for any major vet visits and surgeries. Unfortunately I am back to searching for a good doctor for my four legged kid. Kudos to you Dr. McLean and thank you for caring about the pets that are lucky enough to see you. Read Less

As a newcomer to Calgary one of the first things that I needed to find was a veterinarian. We move around a lot and completely dread this task. Unfortunately my nine year old beagle seems to always have something going on (our sweet lil' money pit). Our first Calgary vet. visit went to the Westmount Animal Clinic, they were okay but really just solidly okay. At the prices that one pays in Calgary I didn't want okay I wanted fantastic.  Well, I found fantastic in the Canine Companion Clinic! The office is clean with updated decor and no terrible pet smells.  The receptionist is extremely personable and makes an effort to remember your name and details. Dr. McLean and Lorraine obviously love their jobs, they spent time petting, kissing and cuddling our dog-she was willing to follow them anywhere after just one visit.  The Clinic gave me a discount for my first visit and the beagle came home with a new (high quality)toy after each appointment.  The prices seem fair and they really go the extra mile, from follow up phone calls to even a personal cell # for our trip back to the states-just in case we had issues at the border.I know how hard it is to find the perfect vet (four states, one province and nine vets in the last four years) but I am so please to have found Canine Companion Clinic. The worst vets ever,,,they have not even basic knowledge of docs problems. They only know to send you to tests, tests, and tests and they are not able to give a diagnosis to the animal. Their reviews are own people that lie on the reviews. All of you stay away. Try to get vets from USA they are loving and try to help you online. The vets in Calgary rip people off. Read Less

One of my cavalier puppies has been having a rough go with a rare genetic disorder. These wonderful ladies have been so kind and supportive with any questions that we have and continuously make time to see little Sawyer anytime he is having a bad day. I also have to thank them so immensely for talking us into pet insurance before any of the EFS symptoms showed up. Plus, anyone who is as excited to meet my new puppies as I am gets an automatic 5 stars in my books. Read Less

Read Less

My mini Burger needed care urgently and same as Carla from the other comment that they do made time to see him and took really good care of him. Dr even gives me free advise through the phone a couple times after a couple visit. Their price are reasonable and everyone is cheerful and helpful in the clinic. They are just the best one by far. I did recommend my friends to bring their best friend to this clinic. Btw, my little Burger rec'd Xmas gift from them these couple years!!!!! Thanks Canine Companion Read Less
