FAIL: Fish Creek Vet Hospital YYC Story time Friday: call vet to inform them of an issue my dog was having & had previously had. Was told *NOT* to bring him in, they can fill a script in 24 hours or less & will call when it’s ready. Saturday: 24 hours has passed, no call. Saturday: 26.5 hours, I call sit on hold, get hung up on, waste almost 20 mins messing around on the phone, find out his meds had been ready & I can pick it up. Drive 25 mins there, pay leave, 25 min drive, get home. Open envelope with meds & see 3 syringes, give dog 1st dose on Saturday at 3pm. Realized the meds they have given was a smaller amount than they had previously given. Read the package & it seemed off (the amount of medication & doses didn’t add up) I assumed they were giving him 3 syringes instead of 6 or 7 which they had previously given him (because I trusted them) & I’m thinking great must be a stronger dose & will work faster. Give him the 3 doses over 3 days every 24 hours - saw improvement, about 40-50% better - I know he has to be crated while recovering, I assumed the medication will continue to work while I continue to crate him. Monday 3 pm was his last does. Thursday: I hadn’t notice enough improvement since Tuesday which caused some concern because at this stage prior there was significant improvement. (He also had the correct dose & amount of syringes he was suppose to have prior) I call back Thurs. to let them know & get some help. I tell the receptionist everything that’s going on & she informed that I should’ve received 7 syringes, not 3 & that I had paid for all 7 & that the dose was wrong too. Then I get put on hold so the receptionist could go talk to the vet & get a plan. She comes back to let me know that they needed the Envelope that the syringes came in before they will correct their mistakes - for what I assume is to prove I’m not lying!? (Why else would they need it?) & OF COURSE the envelope was already in the garbage & YES, I went to get it out for my dog. Receptionist on the phone then tells me to send her a pic of the envelope OR bring it in & they’ll make the remaining syringes when I get there. Before I get off the phone, I ask her specifically is it going to effect my dog that he had three doses, then hasn’t had a dose in a couple days? She says that won’t be an issue he can have the other 4 doses safely. I get the envelope, drive another 25 minutes to get the rest of the medication. I get there & now have to start this entire conversation with another new person. Give her the envelope & she says hold on I’ll go find out what’s going on. (Find out what’s going on!?!? What?!? I just did all this on the phone. We already figured it out?!?!? hence why I just drove here!) She comes back 2-3 minutes later & asks me why I didn’t call earlier. I tell her I thought you intentionally gave him 3. (At this point does that even matter?! I am already there & shouldn’t you people have been the ones to check the medication and make sure it was correct in the first place?!?) Then she leaves again comes back about 5 mins later & let me know that she won’t be giving him the rest of the medication because it could be harmful to him, he needs an exam now! $$$$ LIKE WHAT TF?!?! (but he didn’t 5 days ago or 45 mins ago on the phone!) She says after three doses he should be 100% better. If he’s not 100% better than he needs an exam. Then I ask, “If 3 doses was enough to make him 100% better why prescribe 7 to him?” 🤯 this time or the previous 2 times?! She says “it’s just a precaution” that they gave 7. (I’m thinking BS right away - they gave more than double the needed meds and charge you for that?!) that’s not only ripping me off, but that’s putting my dog in danger too!!) so she’s either lying or they’ve been ripping me off and putting my dog jeopardy for three years. It’s either or and both scenarios are bad. She then says the only thing she can do is refund the money for the medication he didn’t receive. (Greaaaat (sarcastic af) I can use that for the gas that you all just wasted.) Either way I’m already out the money at this point. She then continues to say that I can bring my dog back in tonight or tmw - this means drive home 25 mins, get the dog - that’s supposed to be crated right now according to them - drive back there, another 25 mins, pay for an exam, that he didn’t need 5 days ago, (after improvement) then pay for more medication that I already paid for in the first place, then drive another 25 mins home. Like crazy lying lady, nooo! I do not trust any of you now with my dog’s safety and health at this point. If this isn’t the SLIMMEST SCAM I’ve ever seen. This Vet is money hungry and do not care about the welfare of your pet. Not only was this all completely preventable if they had done their jobs correctly in the first place, second place or third place but they could’ve corrected their mistakes today. Instead made it worse by lying, wasting more of my dogs time, my time, more money & an hour of my life & had no remorse doing. Save your money and go somewhere else before you get scammed too. Fish Creek used to be really good, but it was bought out by a corporation & most of their staff left. I wouldn't have gone there at all, but my dog was very sick & they were the closest. Big mistake. I found them to be unscrupulous, the front desk staff to be immature, rude & dishonest & the attending veterinarian uncaring. My dog almost died. I left there & took my pet to Alpine where she received excellent care. Had I not taken her to Alpine, she would not be alive today. Read Less

I don't know what to say!! I have a small breed dog who feels afraid whenever she is in any pet hospital. Today, I had a visit there. My dog barked at anyone or any dog who was too close to her. You know, out of fear! Some of the staff there were extremely rude. One female staff turned to me and shooshed at me and my dog!! I apologized for the barking. At the same time, I was trying to stop the barking while talking to the receptionist. I know nobody likes a barking dog, but I feel a person working in a pet hospital should know better how to handle the situation. I mean, anyone could see that I was struggling with a barking dog while having a conversation with the front desk personnel. Instead of shooshing at me and my dog in vain (Her shooting didn't stop the barking, of course. I think she just wanted me to feel bad), she could have given me a helping hand by giving her a treat or trying to calm her down and I would have appreciated it !!!! If you can help it, choose a different vet. I ended up here because of an emergency. I came home from work to find my cat peeing blood so was forced to take him in outside the hours of my regular vet. They took a look at him, gave me some drugs and sent us home. Two weeks later, he was back to square one and we ended up going back. We had Dr. Nelson on that visit. Seriously, if you get him, just leave!! He is the most useless and incompetent vet I’ve ever met. He manipulated us into doing an x ray just to prove himself right, ended up being wrong, charged $300 and sent us home with the exact same treatment. Now it’s two weeks later, and guess what? We’re back again. I called and spoke to the staff about my disappointment, and my reluctance to continue dealing with them when they have yet to help us. I spoke to two separate people who both interrupted and talked over me, and refused to listen to my concerns. They refused to take responsibility for the fact that we were told the wrong information, and shorted one syringe of medication (which we paid for). This vet is unprofessional and expensive. This review is written more for awareness for Fish Creek 24 hour Pet Hospital. These days, and by that I mean during this 'pandemic', people have had a lot of time on their hands and in those hands has been extra cash to purchase many items and one of those being pets. This influx of pet owners has really strained the Veterinary services in Calgary and surrounding area. We have seen some 24/7 Emergency Care centers go back to normal hours, appointments are weeks out and in my case, being a prospective new client, had even been told no new clients are being taken at certain clinics. The system is just overloaded and there is not enough vets or hours in the day and I get that. One of our new 12 week old puppies was clearly straining to pee and looked bloated. Our first vet check was a couple days after first noticed - told him about his straining issues and suspected bloating, he did some bloodwork and found he had some infection, got some meds and went home but were back again a couple weeks later as he wasn't better so more tests, urine and x-rays were ran and determined there was something really wrong with our baby so were referred as an Emergency Referral to a leading Specialist in the city. It was in fact 3-4 weeks and I hadn't heard anything from that Specialist we were referred to as an 'Emergency' - so again I went back and saw a different vet (same clinic) for my other puppies final vaccination, he told me exactly what to do to get into that Specialist sooner (Emergency Walk-in) I did exactly that, stated his case and they took him right in and that same Specialist consulted on his case a couple hours later. Long story short this puppy was then referred to the Care Centre and 2 other highly recommended clinics/surgeons at different locations. I did hear back from 2 of the referral clinics within a week about consultation appointments for him - 6/7 weeks down the road. The 3rd referral which was given a couple weeks later than the other two - Nov. 23rd to be exact was where we got almost immediate action. Within days, I was conversing with 2 surgeons who contacted me with a treatment plan going forward and today, Dec. 7th, 2021, I am awaiting a call on the outcome of his surgery, not waiting 4 or 5 more weeks to begin a treatment plan. My point after giving all this background is this: Pets are a huge part of any family, a massive, expensive commitment and one of those biggest expenses is their Veterinary care. Should they not receive the best, most compassionate and time appropriate care possible? A referral should be evaluated carefully soon after receiving to determine the level of Emergency, followed up with a phone call from the surgeon or at very least a Tech. I am disappointed in the process at Fish Creek and hope they will do better. Read Less

On Christmas Day our Scottish Terrier, Jasper, became ill. We live in Dewinton and were so relieved that the hospital was open on this special holiday. We were very pleased with the caring and professional advice we were given from Dr Katz and his team. After Dr Katz explained our medical options for Jasper we made the difficult choice. I had to take my dog to the vet because she was vomiting and in a lot of pain. They got her in and looked at her and determined she had some foreign material in her stomach. After over night observation it was decided they need to operate to remove it. She had some damage to her upper intestine so kept her 2 more days to make sure that everything was working and she was doing well. The doctor and staff that I talked to were easy to talk with. The Vets were the ones that actually did the procedure and also talked to me about the follow-up care she was getting. I felt very good and comfortable with her being there and she was being well looked after. When she got home she was happy and energetic. I found the cost was extremely reasonable considering what was done and the length of her stay. Would highly recommend Fish Creek. Read Less

I am writing this review because Fish Creek saved my dogs life multiple times. My boyfriend and I have a French bulldog who just turned one and he has had one health problem after another. When we first brought him home he began vomiting, we took him to fish creek where he stayed for almost 3 weeks while they ran tests and tried to figure out what was wrong with our baby. He had a growth in his stomach that ended up being removed and we thought we were in the clear. Shortly after he began having seizures, again we took him to Fish Creek where they took amazing care of him and gave us a referral to see a neurologist. Yesterday our boy went on a walk and got heat stroke (he has an elongated soft pallet that will he operated on) so even on his short walk his little body couldn’t handle the 20 degree weather. He was unable to breathe and we rushed him to Fish Creek, they placed a breathing tube in and advised us our best bet was to have him transferred to Western where they would have veterinarians more equipment to deal with the critical care he would need. Despite having pet insurance they told us none of these costs would be covered due to his breed they consider it a pre existing condition. Western wanted a 10,000$ deposit before they would even see him and told us our bill could be upwards of 20,000$. We were unable to afford this costly option and so Fish Creek told us they would do everything in their power to save our Theo but they were not sure despite all their efforts he would live. Today they called me to tell me my Theo was doing amazing, eating, playing and bright eyed. I am so beyond thankful for every single person at Fish Creek animal hospital. This review comes a little late, but in nearing the anniversary of the event I decided it was time to give an honest review. A couple years back or cat Binky, was very old and had stopped eating or moving, and we decided it would be time to ease her pain and send her on. As is the way with pets it was a long weekend and our regular vet was closed, so we were referred on to Fish Creek. Now I’ve had a lot of animals in my life, of all varieties. I’ve seen animals die, and I’ve put pets down. And in NO previous case have I not been allowed to be with my animal when it was put to sleep. My mother was DISTRAUGHT over the thought of not being allowed to be with Bink after having spent 21 years with our little friend. They were adamant, even with explanations of our animal experience and with no real explanation or reason on their part. In the end we submitted because we had come a very long way and didn’t want to subject her to another long car ride and the our regular vets wouldn’t be open for another two days. Shameful. Anyone going in should be aware you may not be permitted to be with your pet in the event it’s euthanized. If it’s important to you definitely DO NOT go to this facility. Absolutely amazing clinic!! 5 stars doesn't even begin to describe the care and compassion they delivered to our fur baby. Right from the time we walked in the door we were met with exceptional service and first class people. Our dog suffered an accident after getting too close to a deer and was having problems with his mouth. When we were called back into the room the vet could see that I was worried and my dog was in pain but she was so kind and it was obvious she cares deeply for animals it helped to ease some of the worry. He ended up needing surgery and although they were quite busy she managed to fit him in and I was able to pick him up later that day. They called me twice during the day to provide updates on his condition and to let me know how surgery went. When we arrived Dr. Tathiana Anacleto, (an absolutey amazing veterinarian!!) met us in the lobby and gave my kids the tooth she had surgically removed. After seeing the care our dog received compared to a previous clinic we had been to my kids proclaimed that was the only place that could touch our dog again! I'd give 6 stars if I could. We had an emergency last year with one of our cats and everyone here just took amazing care of her. Long story short, she ate something she could not digest, and after getting ripped off by another clinic we ended up taking her here. They charged us less for a 24 hour stay than the other clinic did for a few hours. They took amazing care of her, and all the doctors over her 24 hour stay were always in touch with us. The moment we got there, the staff immediately took care of her. It was a really rough time and they really seemed to care. Our other cat unfortunately at the same time (from a previous condition) got an infection, and we didn't feel like taking him to the previous clinic as they also took bad care of him. So the doctor at Fish Creek, after hearing that story told us to bring him in when the other one got discharged, and she'd take a look at him. She answered all the question the other clinic never bothered to, and even prescribed better medication. And all of this cost less than we could have imagined. They never tried to over charge us, they were upfront about everything and again, they really seemed to care. I do not know what else to say. To the staff, thank you so much, you not only saved River's life, but you did it with such kindness and caring. I have taken three of my pets here (I have five)...and one of my clients kitties, and another clients dog here!! They are incredible! When our kitty instantly gulped the string on her string/mouse toy...before we could grab her! We looked online and saw that there was a mixture with hydrogen peroxide that we could give her to induce vomiting (as long as it was within 2 hrs of her eating it). But it didn't work. So we promptly took her to the 24-Hr clinic closest to our home. There, they refused to induce vomiting (even though it had only been 45 minutes)...and recommended that they rush her into surgery to remove it! We were not comfortable with that at all. When there was a chance she could pass it on her own. So we took her here right after, and the staff was amazing!! They unfortunately couldn't induce the vomiting because it was now past two hours. But gave us detailed things to look for, and told us everything we needed to do to make sure we knew what to look for if the string became obstructed, and to take her in right away. In the meantime, they gave us a timeline to wait for it pass through her stool. Which it did a few days later!!! Saving us thousands of dollars, and our little kitty a major intrusive surgery!! We've taken our other pets here for those last minute things that always seem to come up in the middle of the night when you have five!! And they have been amazing every time!! So grateful for their care!!! So that we can bring our pets for the best care possible - any time of day!! Read Less

Mostly clear communication, except for one procedure - we were given an option which was available at the clinic, but not another option (a better one), which was available in a different clinic. Took my dog here after she had several seizures on a Saturday night. Dr Dan and all the technicians and receptionists were so kind and helpful. I never felt like they were money hungry or pushing any decisions on us. They just presented the facts and options and let me decide the course of action. I had a late night problem with my cats soft nail covering and natural nail. She had been playing and somehow got a free nail on the right paw stuck behind a nail covering on the dew claw, on the left paw. I had been using them for years and never had a problem. I tried to unhook/trim the nails, however I was worried about hurting her since she was getting agitated. I cabbed to the pet hospital, where the Receptionist and Tech immediately took care of her, cutting the nail and removing the cap within minutes. I had a late night emergency with my dog, him and a porcupine has gotten into a tussle and brought him here after calling in with some questions. The front end staff and both vets I saw were incredibly compassionate, supportive, and informative about what was happening and how to handle it. Before I called Fish Creek I spoke to Calgary North who was no help when it came to a ball park price point when it came to sedation and how much it would cost to extract the quills. I had a late night emergency with my dog and brought him here after calling in with some questions. The front end staff and both vets I saw were incredibly compassionate, supportive, and informative about what was happening and how to handle it. When payment became a potential problem for an overnight stay and potential surgery, they had no issues with providing alternatives with lower costs and giving me the education I needed to properly care for my dog at home. This is the best experience I've ever had with a vet clinic and I will make them my regular clinic for everything whether its a basic check up or we run into something more urgent again. Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. When the time came to say goodbye to our 11 year old dane we went here at night and they were amazing. So understanding and they cried almost as much as we did. We take our currents pups to see Dr.Dan and he is amazing with them. Dr. Charlotte is my pups favorite! She's so sweet and gentle with her. My other pup had to go in for surgery and the entire experience was great. Vet I saw was good but total wait time of 5 hours was ridiculous. When I tried to book a follow up appointment a few weeks later, as requested by the vet, I requested a specific vet. Was told he was fully booked for some time. So, I said any vet would do. "Sorry we are all booked up" and hung up. Didn't even ask about another day or time. Worst experience ever! We've used this clinic a few times in emergency situations when it's outside our regular vet clinic hours. We took our pregnant dog to this vet when we suspected she had a UTI. Drove to the clinic during a snowstorm at 9:30 pm. The clinic did an urine culture and prescribed antibiotics. The next day our dog was not looking any better and we were having a hard time getting her to take the medication. We took her back to the vet in the afternoon. Additional tests were administered. We elected to not leave her overnight with the clinic for further tests because the clinic was not offering any specific treatment or medication options - e.g. no hydration, no alternative medications. We took her home where she would be more comfortable and where we could keep a close eye on her. Our plan was to continue to administer the antibiotics and take her in to our regular vet the next day. Fortunately, we were able to get her to swallow the oral meds and today she is eating and has a little more energy. Much to our surprise two peace officers showed up at our door this afternoon to follow up on a report of medical neglect made to the Calgary Humane Society. The officers listened to our side of the story, met with our dog and took our information. I will NEVER EVER return to this clinic. BEWARE. If you do not agree to extensive testing and overnight kennelling of your dog, plan for a report to the SPCA. I will be following up with the regulatory body for Alberta Vets regarding this case. Our dog is currently being evaluated by another Vet as a precaution. Read Less

These people are fantastic. In all my years, I have never been to a better and more friendly animal veterinary clinic. The staff there are so helpful and very friendly. Great care facility for pets. I brought my dog here at the very end of December 2016 for his check up, and with the concern his teeth needed some work, and maybe he was in dental pain. We all know dogs don't show it if they have dental pain. After a slack attempt to check my dogs teeth I was told they were fine, and no work needed to be done. My gut told me this wasn't right, but I was sent on my way, and charged for a full exam. It was on the back of my mind and bothered me, because visually even to me they didn't look all that great. I kept telling myself that they are the professionals, and it was probably okay. I hummed and hawed about taking him back because I didn't want to look parinoid. I ended up calling back at the beginning of May to book him in to have his teeth re-checked, because I felt it wasn't right. At his visit today I was told that he needs to be put under, a full dental cleaning, x-rays, and several teeth extracted - around $1800 worth of work. I called back to book him to be rechecked in less than 5 months after his full exam, and was charged for another full exam today. When I pointed out that I was just in for a full exam recently, and was back for a situation that was neglectfully overlooked on their part I was told "it was a year ago, back in 2016, and lots can come up in a year." REALLY?! Basic math and common sense would show that the end of December until the beginning of May is less than even half of a year, and things DO NOT progress that quickly in less than half of a year. It's not even the point of being charged today when I shouldn't have been, or their inability to do math- that's just the icing on the cake. It's about inadequate care. They saved our boy Bentleys life when no other vet knew whats wrong and they charged us less then expected if you want the best for your animals take them here. We, unexpectedly, had to say goodbye to our beloved fur baby, Watson, last week and Dr. Lisa Scott made the journey almost bearable. We were given all the information we needed to make the tough decisions, and she treated us with great care and consideration. We were able to grieve privately and they were so respectful as we took our time to come to grips with what was happening, to say goodbye to Watson, and allowing us as much time as we needed. They even provided a private door for us to leave from so we didn't have to face a barrage of strangers as we left. A few days late we received a very touching card from Dr. Scott sending her condolences. Even though this was a very traumatic day for us I cannot recommend this hospital enough. My kids and I took our family cat into this clinic at 9pm on a Sunday night. The wait wasn't to bad considering they had a busy waiting room. We had to have blood work and other tests done, but wasn't long for the results once complete. Although our outcome was a sad one, Dr. Devin and the staff at this clinic treated our pet with the utmost respect and care. My children and I were very upset. They allowed us time alone in the room with our Luke and didn't rush us in saying our goodbyes to him. They were very compassionate, especially towards my kids. The people at this clinic made our tough night seem a little more bearable. Prices were really reasonable too considering what was done. Fish Creek has some great doctor's, nurses and assistants that will treat your animal as their own. Some of the people there I wouldn't want handling my animal. Working there has mixed emotions. Communication is very poor and moral is very low. However, majority of the people are awesome. There are some people who work there that boggle my mind as to why they still have a job. Melissa Ashby was the worst manager I have ever had. Lazy, rude, actually puts you down, starts high school gossip, and every time I would call her she would ignore my call, listen to my voice mail and then text back 30 seconds later. I took my pet for a checkup on Sunday thinking we were getting additional meds and returning home. That was not the case..with x rays and blood work... it was discovered her kidneys were shutting down due to age..Dr Lisa and the staff made a very painful situation bearable with kindness and compassion...they charged me only for the procedure..which was amazingly compassionate and appreciated.. Our American Hairless Terrier, Moto, got into the garbage and found a half dozen chicken bones from the previous nights dinner. Woke up and it was obvious that the dog was not well... after an hour of on line research at 4 in the morning I called Fish Creek Pet Hospital and asked them to expect me and Moto. Dr Jason and the entire staff were fantastic!! Not only with Moto but watching them with other owners/fur babies you could tell their heart and minds were there for one reason... the animals! Dr Jason was professional, caring, empathetic and was there to guide me through an unfamiliar process. Moto is now on the mend and my mind is at ease knowing that they are available at a moments notice and just a call away. Should be shut down! Go anywhere but here! Rude. Paid over $4300 within a month. Lied (said pet would come home from surgery and be able to play -pet was suffering and immobile. Reckless. Sent pet home with wrong medication dosage. No communication between staff so each shift doesn't know status of pet. Couldn't get a straight answer about bill total (called over 5x) Loud stressful zoo and not what your pet needs in crisis. I have been to many vets with super complex cases (amazing and kind) and many shelters (I volunteered for a decade at a huge shelter) this office is run worse than a shelter. Very impressed with the service. Had to bring our pup in on boxing day as she had a skin condition that was starting and we wanted to get it looked at as soon as possible. The wait time was not long at all, maybe 25 mins. Dr. Devin came in was very good with explaining his thoughts and the options for testing. Our puppy had to have a skin scrape which I didn't think she would be willing to allow but the Dr was able to settle her down and perform the scrape on her. Once a diagnosis was confirmed he was very good at providing us with the best & cost effective route for our puppy. He gave us outlined plans for what to do next and fool proofed the dosages for the medication for us. Very happy and impressed with this clinic. We are lucky to have such a great option available. I really didn't like it. Went a couple of times with a foster dog who has no home. Both times we had to wait for 3 plus hours for all the other walk ins to be seen first. I still get charged for the services same as everyone else but have to wait 2-3 times as long. We were going to step out for 10 minutes and the receptionist literally said: 'if you walk through those doors I'm taking you off the list so when you come back you're going to the back.' Love this vet clinic. I always refer people to this clinic when they ask who I take my pets to. I recently had an incident where my 4 month old kitten had her back end ran over. I got her to the vet and they immediately took her and sedated her and gave her pain management. The vet discussed all my options with me. This hospital waiting area is too big, and then there are numerous people with different pets waiting in the area. Having a cat with anxiety issues, this place is not ideal and a more calming environment would be good to give her a better experience (at my vet in Toronto, my cat had little issue being checked out by the vet and didn't care to hide). Also, it felt more like a money-run business instead of a place which genuinely cares for the pets. This morning my mom and I decided to put our dog Toby down. We normally take him to a vet just outside of town but decided to take him to Fish Creek since it's so close to our home. The staff were so compassionate, especially considering how distraught we were about the situation. They took us into a private room with a couch where they talked about our options with us. Then the vet, Devon, came in and explained the procedure with us. I was very unsure about if I wanted to be there for the procedure, but after Devon explained it to us and assured us that it would be peaceful and Toby wouldn't be in any pain, I decided to stay and be with him. The whole procedure took place with Toby wrapped in a blanket in my mom's arms sitting on the couch, and he went very quickly and peacefully. Afterwards we were given all the time we needed to say goodbye and then they let us use a back door to leave. I'm so glad we decided to go to Fish Creek because they made such a sad experience for us much easier and at least for me, gave me a bit of closure and reassurance that we did the right thing for our dog. Very kind and compassionate people work here. I brought my unwell cat in at 11:30pm on a Thursday. He was taken back and they started to assess him right away while I filled in paperwork. Long story short, I said goodbye to a piece of my world at 2:00am. I was heartbroken. My husband wasn't with me and I hadn't been expecting to deal with this, but Dr. Fischer was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable and helped me through. I was given clear information on what was known, what the next steps could be, and time to call my husband and discuss our options. I never felt rushed, or pressured to make decisions. She was direct and kind and I appreciate that she didn't sugar coat the situation yet was compassionate. When the hard choice was made, I was taken back to see him and we were put in a comfortable room with a couch and plenty of Kleenexes. I was given time to say goodbye and he stretched out in my lap, purring like he was at home. I have such sweet memories of his last moments thanks to Dr. Fisher and her coworkers. Thank you so much to all the staff and doctors at the clinic. My dog Tai was not well and deteriorating. They tried to make her better but it was not in the cards. The vet was very compassionate and honest as to the next month for Tai and her failing kidneys and not eating. She made my decision to put Tai out of her misery so much easier. I have been to Fish Creek a few times, with emergency cases for both my dogs. Everyone there was absolutely lovely. On one occasion, they were absolutely swamped, but everyone was kind and patient and every interaction I saw was handled with poise and care. My girl had to stay overnight and I had zero issue with it, as I knew she was in good hands. Updates came, and I was encouraged to call at anytime if I was concerned at all. My precious dog Teddy, who's been with me for almost 16 years, was suddenly extremely sick and they took him in immediately. My elderly cat was suddenly taken ill. I took her late at night to Fish Creek 24hr. They managed to stabilize her and kept her in so they could run some tests. Very sadly they discovered that my beautiful girl had cancer of the stomach and pancreas. I managed to take her home for a couple of days for some loving up. On Saturday Sweetie Pie went downhill pretty fast. I returned late Saturday night to do the right thing. Everyone was so amazing and professional and above all compassionate and kind. They allowed me all the time I needed to spend with my girl even though it was very busy. They showed such respect. Thank you vet Ed and the young lady who went above and beyond and gave me the best personal attention I have ever known - at an extremely stressful time. They took amazing care of my cat, period. To give you an idea, I live a solid 45 minutes from this place and in the event of any veterinary emergency I would HAPPILY make the drive to get my pets cared for here. The entire place looked immaculately clean, which was wonderful. The prices they gave me were lower than other vet hospitals, and the care was by far the best I've ever experienced. My cat stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days, with daily ultrasounds to moniter the progress on a nasty bout of pancreatitis. They phoned to give me updates every morning, and even when I asked the vet techs to physically go in and look at her and tell me how she was doing they were happy to oblige. Any time she needed a new procedure that required another payment, I was phoned in advance and usually given a couple of options. They brought my cat out to visit me every evening and allowed me use of a private room for visiting and cuddling her for as long as I wanted. They even brought me a blanket for her to nap on, and food bowls so I could bring her snacks. When it came time to pay the bill and they had given me compassion pricing and waived a couple of fees without me even asking, I was very happy.I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Read Less

Dr. Mark is amazing. We have taken all our pets there and he has been amazing with them all. My dog had to have her eye removed and they were so careful to explain everything to me and when she had to have her second eye removed they gave me constant updates over the phone because they knew I was nervous. We recently had to put her down and dr mark stayed an extra 1.5 hours after he was off to wait for me to bring her in because he had been there through everything else. He made me feel like I was doing the right thing and that she was ok and gave me a few pats on the shoulder. When I get a new dog this will be the only vet I take them to. The front staff is so friendly and throughout everything with my pets *and between mine we have been there a lot* we have never felt rushed or had anything but a pleasant experience. Read Less

The Fish Creek Pet Hospital has been phenomenal for me. They have extended hours past when the average vet is open, so I've made not just a few phone calls on holidays or in the evenings to ask about pet-related questions (usually starting with "My dog just ate X - should I be worried?") They've saved me so much $$ just for that alone.I had to visit the physical location for the first time a few weeks back when my mom's cat was exhibiting symptoms of urinary tract infection. My regular vet didn't have any appointment times open but I was able to walk into Fish Creek. There was no wait at all and the cat eventually got diagnosed with a wicked urinary tract AND kidney infection. They were very friendly, kept the cat for a few hours to run some tests and followed up a few times by phone. The cost wasn't as bad as I thought considering all the tests that had been done, plus medication & special food.I don't wish vet visits on anyone, but if you're needing to hit one up I can highly recommend Fish Creek Pet Hospital. Spectacular Staff . Very good price ( as far as vet care goes ).I went here after I called to get a second estimate for a procedue for my Cat. I was give an estimate originally of 2,500$ to 4,000 $ . Their Estimate for the exact same procedure 800$ to 1,300$ ( max ). I lost it on the other vet clinic and fired my regular vet for recommending them. Because of the original 4,000$ estimate I was on the verge of putting him down before getting a second opinion.Words cannot properly express how caring and friendly the staff at this clinic was ; after explaining to me the treatment and getting my permission to go ahead they were supportive in a way few human medical practitioners are. While distraught I was pacing the block and the receptionist came out to find me , jsut to tell me that the procedure went well and that my cat would be alright.
