Went to this vet as my puppy was having some issues - i clearly explained the issues on the phone and then was recommended to come in ( was awesome they took me right away) BUT ... she checked my dog...
Went to this vet as my puppy was having some issues - i clearly explained the issues on the phone and then was recommended to come in ( was awesome they took me right away) BUT ... she checked my dogs teeth, temperature, eyes, and then sent me home to collect some pee in a tray. charging me $100+ for a "check up".. I went home and googled the SAME symptoms I explained, and found out in seconds what my dog had, she had a rash between her legs causing the issue which required a cream... So i paid for a check up and my dog was not even checked, after i called back and explained what my dog had (quoting google) they just let me walk in and pick it up without looking at the dog... I literally donated $100+ for fun. Also ordered my dogs dog food through them, went to pick it up and they had forgot to order it. :(

I was calling around a dozen vets in the city to see if an immediate appointment was available due to my puppy's bloody diarrhea. Maybe it was just good timing between appointments, but this clinic was the first one to stop and ask me questions about what was happening, and the receptionist even asked the vet about my situation. I have never been to the clinic, never given them any money, but they still took the time to give me valuable informal advice over the phone. Greatly appreciated and very friendly.

We have been taking our dog (now 18months old) to this vet since we bought her home as a puppy. Excellent staff, very clean and well looked after consultation rooms. This is the first vet I've ever taken a dog to where the dog is straining on the leash and wagging her tail to go in and say hi. We are now moving overseas and the staff have been so incredibly helpful in getting all our documentation right and trying to figure out the documentation requirements with us!

Dr. Hans and her staff have provided nothing but excellent care to my dogs. She and her staff are extremely knowledgable, and they are as considerate towards my dogs as I am to them at home. I always feel comfortable leaving my dogs in their hands. One of the biggest challenges that I have faced with vets always appears in procedure costs. Dr. Hans' prices are as fair as I have ever seen. I never feel as though she is taking advantage of the ability to name her price. I would recommend her clinic to anyone.

Dr. Hans was incredible in helping with our Morkie. He was at a stage where most of his teeth needed to be taken out and we were so worried that he would not be the same dog after the surgery but she completed it very well and now he is back to his old self. She explained the surgery very thoroughly and also future steps on how to help our dog. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a veterinarian to go visit Dr. Hans and her great staff!!

I've recently brought my two labs in to see Dr. Hans and have been extremely happy with my service at Evanston Pet Hospital. After our first vet retired (who we loved and trusted very much), we were vet-hopping trying to find a good fit for us. Dr. Hans and her staff have fit the bill for us. Everyone is very kind, caring and helpful. I especially appreciate that Dr. Hans listens to what the concerns are, gives you options with regards to your pets care and is very reasonable with pricing. The hours provided at the clinic are convenient, her staff are super friendly and I am happy to have found a comfortable place to bring my dogs for their care.

June 2018 - 2 Stars As you’ll see from our previous review, we loved Evanston Pet Hospital. Unfortunately our latest visit wasn’t so great. The basic exam fee has gone up 50% since our last annual vaccination visit and we were never told until it was time to pay. The doctor is also extremely nervous around large breeds which causes major anxiety for all involved (both 2-legged and 4). Feb 2017 - 5 Stars... We could not be more thrilled to have our many pets cared for at this clinic. Dr Hans is very reasonable, rational, understanding and compassionate. I have been taking my miniature pinscher to Calgary North Veterinary for the last 8 years and have recently switched to Evanston Pet Hospital. I went in looking for medication refills and it turns out that it was a food allergy. He was given different medication and a change of food.
When the time came to pay the bill I was surprised it was so low. In addition I have been back 3 times for follow ups and Dr. Hans did not charge for those visits. The dog also has a bladder stone and Calgary north wanted $3200 for the surgery, Dr. Hans quoted $800-$900. He's going under the knife next week under Dr. Hans care.
Overall I'm very happy with the level of care and the pricing is a bonus.

The staff at the Evanston Pet Hospital are amazing. We recently lost our 6 year old dog and Dr Hans and the staff here were absolutely amazing. They did everything they could to help him and gave us all of the options. He was a pretty difficult dog and they worked with us to create an environment that was comfortable for him. They were also fantastic with my husband and I and gave us all of the care and support we needed. We now take our other dog there and would recommend this vet to everyone! Thank you guys for everything.

A terrific pet hospital. Reasonable prices and the staff seem to genuinely care about animals. I feel like their priority is not only about making money but making sure you and your pet has the best care.
Dr Hans is very knowledgeable. She takes the time to learn about my dogs history, very thorough in her examinations. She takes detailed notes about each visit, which seems to be reviewed prior to subsequent visits.
Dr Hans and her staff takes the time to make follow up calls, answer questions and concerns even over the phone. No other vet I've been to has ever done that.
The hours and availability is terrific.
I would highly recommend Evanston pet hospital. I wish my own doctor would provide me with this level of care!

We took our British bulldog in as we suspected she had a cold. Dr Hans was great as well as the front end staff. We were there for an hour in the examination room, received antibiotics, probiotic, her nails cut and the bill was close to 50% less that what we would have paid at any of our previous vets. We're saving another 35% on our dog and cat food as well from purchasing it here. This is our new vet for life.

First of all, I am so stunned at the dedication & love that Dr. Hans for animals. She actually developed allergies through veterinary school but she stuck with it because she loves what she does! Having already written this wonderful place a Google review I figured I should spread the word via yelp as well. The staff here are nothing short of fantastic. They know me and my dog personally and will call to check up on how my dog is doing if she has been having issues or to remind us of her yearly vaccines and inoculations. The bedside manner of Dr. Hans is calm and attentive and she is never dismissive of any concern. Which helps for those pet parents who are hyperchondriacal like me. And the prices for the level of care and attention they provide are very affordable! They will be our family vet for life and I happily suggest them to other pet owners whenever possible!

We have been taking our dog (now 18months old) to this vet since we bought her home as a puppy. Excellent staff, very clean and well looked after consultation rooms. The basic exam fee has gone up 50% since our last annual vaccination visit and we were never told until it was time to pay. I have been taking my miniature pinscher to Calgary North Veterinary for the last 8 years and have recently switched to Evanston Pet Hospital. I went in looking for medication refills and it turns out that it was a food allergy. He was given different medication and a change of food.
When the time came to pay the bill I was surprised it was so low. In addition I have been back 3 times for follow ups and Dr. Hans did not charge for those visits. The dog also has a bladder stone and Calgary north wanted $3200 for the surgery, Dr. Hans quoted $800-$900. He's going under the knife next week under Dr. Hans care.
Overall I'm very happy with the level of care and the pricing is a bonus.

Was impressed with the time spent understanding the needs of my dog. Respectful of my opinions and did not force a one size fits all approach. The front staff was friendly and very welcoming!

The staff at the Evanston Pet Hospital are amazing. We recently lost our 6 year old dog and Dr Hans and the staff here were absolutely amazing. They did everything they could to help him and gave us all of the options. He was a pretty difficult dog and they worked with us to create an environment that was comfortable for him. They were also fantastic with my husband and I and gave us all of the care and support we needed. We now take our other dog there and would recommend this vet to everyone! Thank you guys for everything.

A terrific pet hospital. Reasonable prices and the staff seem to genuinely care about animals. I feel like their priority is not only about making money but making sure you and your pet has the best care.
Dr Hans is very knowledgeable. She takes the time to learn about my dogs history, very thorough in her examinations. She takes detailed notes about each visit, which seems to be reviewed prior to subsequent visits.
Dr Hans and her staff takes the time to make follow up calls, answer questions and concerns even over the phone. No other vet I've been to has ever done that.
The hours and availability is terrific.
I would highly recommend Evanston pet hospital. I wish my own doctor would provide me with this level of care!

Felt safe having my dog here and the staff is great. I got a call every single day from Dr Hans and her staff checking in on my dog until she was feeling better.

We took our British bulldog in as we suspected she had a cold. Dr Hans was great as well as the front end staff. We were there for an hour in the examination room, received antibiotics, probiotic, her nails cut and the bill was close to 50% less that what we would have paid at any of our previous vets. We're saving another 35% on our dog and cat food as well from purchasing it here. This is our new vet for life.

Dr. Hans' husband used to be a customer of mine and told me his wife had opened up this clinic. I decided to give her a shot when we got our newest fur-baby, Max. I am so glad I made that decision! First of all, I am so stunned at the dedication & love that Dr. Hans for animals. She actually developed allergies through veterinary school but she stuck with it because she loves what she does! She is very patient with all the animals. I know Max was pretty scared the first time

Having already written this wonderful place a Google review I figured I should spread the word via yelp as well. The staff here are nothing short of fantastic. They know me and my dog personally and will call to check up on how my dog is doing if she has been having issues or to remind us of her yearly vaccines and inoculations. The bedside manner of Dr. Hans is calm and attentive and she is never dismissive of any concern. Which helps for those pet parents who are hyperchondriacal like me. And the prices for the level of care and attention they provide are very affordable! They will be our family vet for life and I happily suggest them to other pet owners whenever possible!
