The care was excellent! There was never resistance to getting second opinions. Both our dogs have had surgeries done at Monterey vet clinic over several years. Dr. Andriy always calls us back in person with all updates. This place is awesome.

FYI - Unfortunately, grief can cause people to lash out, the other reviewer's claims that I am an employee are incorrect. I have zero personal connection anyone at this clinic or in the veterinary services industry. I am speaking from experience only, having been a client of this clinic since 2007.
A more detailed account of my experience g follows for anyone interested:
Dr. Andriy is a straight-forward man - he's never lied, cheated or misled me about the treatment or care provided to my cats. He also doesn't sugar coat the truth and I appreciate that honesty. I'm not looking for a hug from my veterinarian, I am looking for integrity and knowledge, and Dr. Andriy has shown me both.
When my clumsy Ripley hurt her paw, he explained the x-rays in detail so I could see that there was no acute damage, but that arthritis was starting to break down her joints making her more at risk for soft tissue injuries. When little Newt had a freak-out over going back in her carrier, he held it open for me and gently cooed at her while I coaxed her back in.
Both have needed dental surgery at different times (Newt knocked a tooth loose causing an infection in the root and Ripley had excessive decay with infection from being fed kitty "junk food" for the first 5 years of her life by my idiot ex-boyfriend) and each time the office kept me fully apprised throughout the day of their status, progress and stress levels (most of the time Dr. Andriy made the call himself). He's explained the meanings of the blood work readouts, details of how procedures are done including the safety measures used and how to deal with every possible side effect under the sun.
I can't think of a single negative experience at this clinic, to me that is worthy of 5 stars.

Horrible experience! I would not let an ANT pass away at this clinic. My story is heart wrenching and absolute disgust for this clinic!!! Karma will take its course. Nobody's fur baby should pass away...

Nobody's fur baby should pass away like my sweet baby girl did. Her name was Jasmine (Yorkie) and she was my life xoxoxo.This clinic should not exist. Stay away!!!
